We decided to have An Indian meal on first night in the Lake District and came across this restaurant. On first impressions it is small and in need of decorating, it was a cold evening and inside was only slightly warmer. The staff were friendly and polite. We were the only people in the restaurant although it was early evening,... More

Disappointed my comments appeared to fall on deaf ears to the manager at this place about this curry meal (chickens madras and butter chicken) was absolutely tasteless as sauce was too bland, no flavour at all ...it was the right colour which is what I suspect it contained I.e just colouring. Service was good though. Restaurant Prince of India, Windermere

Greeted by the waiter smoking outside. Walked in and although it was very early (just opened) evening the dining room was really cold. Left my coat on all meal. Starter was good, lamb kebab, a little dry, but seasoned and spiced well. The main was disappointing. Some of the chicken was tender and easily chewed, and some was decidedly hard,... More

Me and my boyfriend came here on our first night in Windermere after a few drinks in a nearby pub. It was confusing at first, as the restaurant is up a metal staircase, but the actual restaurant inside is warm, small and cosy with nice lighting and a pleasant atmosphere. The service was friendly and attentive, always asking if we... More

Food was fine , had a nice taste . We had chicken tikka, although the mango chutney seemed very watery . Service could do with being a bit more friendly.
