Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Staff are fantastic at this cafe and really make you feel welcome and valued. Both the cooked food (awesome breakfasts) and homemade cakes are 5* and such a wide variety. Dogs made very welcome (some might say spoilt) by all the staff. Well worth a...visit if you’re in the area, I take my mum here most Saturday mornings and never had a bad experience. Yummy cappuccinos!More

What an awful place that doesn't care about its customers only the £££ well this place won't be getting any money from our family again. If you have a family member with cancer the manager doesn't care such a shame as the staff are excellent...and they won't be getting any money from a frequent visitorMore

Fabulous Afternoon Tea. I was taken by my Daughter for Afternoon Tea as a treat. The food was delicious and not just the usual boring sandwich and cake but a wider variety with tiny soup, chips to add to the specialness. The atmosphere was pleasant...but I have been informed it can be bit chilly on a cold day so beware. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and the experience.More

First time here and it definitely won’t be the last. My husband and I both had a breakfast with a pot of tea. The cafe is spotlessly clean, the staff are wonderful and the food is delicious! It is clear that they use excellent quality...ingredients and each item on our plates was cooked perfectly. We thoroughly enjoyed all our food and felt that it was excellent value for money. We are looking forward to returning to try their Sunday lunch in the near future.More

It's absolutely freezing cold in the cafe - that's why they leave blankets out on chairs for you to wear!! Food very average for what I think is quite expensive. My soup was only luke warm and the filling in my sandwich icy cold!! Certainly...not worth a special journey to visit. My advice would be just don't bother - give it a miss as there are plenty of much nicer places for a lunch out. PLEASE PUT SOME HEATING ON!!More

We love Ma Bakers. We come every month for breakfast. The breakfasts are made with the best quality ingredients. You can add extras. We always add more granary toast as it is amazing. This place isn’t a greasy spoon caff. So if you want your...plate loaded with fried everything this isn’t the place for you. It’s always busy. We went on a Sunday this month and were there just after the 10am opening time. By 10.30 the place was very busy. But food and drinks came out quickly.More

Very overpriced for what it is Just snack meals really , no dinners like hot pot etc . Had a small breakfast each at £7.95 one had a large 1 pound extra for a slice of bacon and an extra sausage ,it was ok but...no different from any other cafe to be honest the bacon was well overcooked. Saving grace was the granary toast . Pot of tea for two persons is absolute extortion at 2.95 per person ! Sorry we Would not rush back .There’s Not enough staff on to cope with anything e. g to clear tables etc so lots of plates stacked up on tables . Sorry but honestly have had better elsewhere.More

First time visiting as heard lots of good reviews, and had leek & potato soup which was like water and a mouthful of a sandwich, we also got a bacon and sausage sandwich which wasn’t the best for the price either. The whole menu was...over priced nearly £10 for a sandwich. Won’t be backMore

The best place for breakfast and worth a drive out to. All ingredients are top quality. The breakfast is simple and you can add extra if you want. If you want a breakfast swimming in grease and loaded with cheap ingredients this is not the...place for you. Staff are lovely. And the cake cabinet is ridiculously tempting!More
