I eat here regularly and am never disappointed.
Being vegetarian I can only comment on the veggie food.
The lasagne and the burgers are delicious and served with real chips hand cut from actual potatoes. You can have salad or coleslaw or both as a side.
Apart from the food they have an excellent quiz on Thursdays along with play your cards right.
Always busy.
Friday night DJ and karaoke.
Sat night excellent singers.
Child friendly
Dog friendly
All the sports are on TV.
Sunday they serve carvery all day at an excellent price .
Great atmosphere.

Another fab meal at the Boars Head, 2nd night in a row! Can't recommend the lasagne enough 👍
My partner had the steak & Stilton pie which was delicious and the home made chips are fantastic. Have eaten here on several occasions and the food has always been great, as is the service and good value for money too. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed Chris & Karen are great hosts and will go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your meal 😀

We were a party of four adults and a little person and dropped in hoping to get a table for food. We were greeted by the very friendly Landlady and directed to a very clean table. Three of our party ordered the fish and chips, I had the steak and blue cheese pie and the little person had fish fingers and beans all of which were very tasty with ample portions at very reasonable prices. The bar staff were as equally friendly and the beer choice was very good. There was a very good atmosphere in the pub which also allows dogs inside. I would definitely recommend the Boars Head for anyone who likes good food, great drinks, a great atmosphere and very friendly and attentive Landlady, Chef and staff. Thank you to the team that looked after us this evening.

We stayed in a house down the road for the Easter weekend with family. When we booked our stay I looked for somewhere we could go for a dinner on Easter Sunday, I messaged my request which was for a table of 16 and got a reply straight away confirming that they could accommodate us no problem and the booking was made. We arrived around twenty minutes early and the table was all ready with reserved signs out, in our own little area great location to put the large booking. Majority of the group had the carvery deal which was fantastic value for money, including a free soup of the day to help yourself too and 3 meats carvery, with homemade roasties, veg, etc to help yourself to. The beef was slightly pink (best way in my opinion) but they made sure to let you know that when serving so you could chose to have more of the other instead. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier and were on the ball collecting glasses and plates once finished, checking in that everything was ok and happy with food. I would highly recommended this pub for food and drinks.

Found the Boars Head as we were in Stanley Park & googled pubs with food nearby.
We were greeted by the Landlady Karen, who is a lovely, welcoming person, she really made us feel welcome & definitely took the time to give us the personal touch.
I was with my son (14 fussy eater), my mum, dad, my brother & niece (11, using a wheelchair).
The pub isn’t a chain & all the food is homemade, it was absolutely lovely!!! Each meal we had was really nice, we ordered lasagne (beautiful, really tasty & full of meat), steak and ale pie (my dad and brother said u could really taste the ale which is unusual), chicken tikka (loads of chicken with a lovely sauce), plain burger with fries requested with 1 piece of lettuce by the fussy eater lol!!! And finally a children’s meal, chicken goujons which my niece enjoyed.
All in all I’m sure we will be returning and we wish Karen & her family well in Boars Head in the future 👏👏👍😁

What a welcome we received from the hosts. As a vegan I am used to not having choice but after we phoned ahead the manager greeted me with three options on a Sunday which all sounded delicious. I opted to have a vegan cottage pie with the vegetables. They even offered without prompting to cook me my own veg as butter had been added to the ones already there. so thoughtful. It arrived really fresh and was very tasty. The carvery vegetables were wonderful and my partner raved about the beef. Lovely atmosphere and would definitely recommend.

I booked last minute and the lady that took my booking was very accommodating to me and my family. We had the carvery, and it wasn’t just any carvery. I had turkey with homemade apricot stuffing which was just beautiful. Roast potatoes were so tasty, marmite and garlic potatoes are a must! Vegetables cooked perfectly with all the trimmings i.e. Yorkshire puds, pigs in blankets. An exceptional Sunday dinner, and very much enjoyed

The Boars Head Pub in Blackpool is a lovely place to enjoy a 3 meat carvery, soup, and desert, and all for £12.95! The soup of the day is lovely, there is plenty of choice for a delicious roast (all served piping hot), and there are some nice tables near the open fire to capture a nice ambience! I went with my church for our Christmas Meal (carvery) and everyone was delighted with the meal! The staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended! Happy Christmas! x

A big thank you to Karen and Chris for accommodating our family get- together for the Sunday Carvery on 10th Dec 2023. Our party was thirteen strong Including, two vegetarians and one child.
As usual the food choice was excellent with properly cooked Roast Beef, Turkey and Gammon with all the usual vegetables and accompaniments. For just over £10 per head including soup starter, this is excellent value for money. We all had a great evening and everyone enjoyed their food.
For those unfamiliar with the Boars Head. It is a traditional pub very warm and welcoming with a log fire in winter. If you are a sports fan, you will appreciate the many tv's throuought the venue.
Well worth a visit, see you again soon Sandra & Sue

Amazing welcome on entry which made us feel right at home. Our booked table labelled and ready. Beautiful free homemade soup to start then roast beef , roast pork and roast gammon served with stuffing ,pigs in blankets , mashed potatoes , roast potatoes , diced marmite and garlic potatoes (which were beautiful as i love marmite) , fresh carrots , fresh sprouts , peas and sweetcorn and parsnip crisps which my 6 year old son adored and he hates vegetables lol. You can have as much of the potatoes and veg as you want within reason naturally and there is gravy to help yourself to. Mint sauce , apple sauce , horseradish sauce and cranberry sauce were there to help yourself to also. Perfect home cooked roast in the surroundings of a lovely traditional pub with a very friendly team of people making sure you are happy and enjoying your visit. It's nothing like the 'big chain carveries'. Its better by far. This is a very popular pub with a great following . My little boy loved it , we loved it and we will certainly be back. Even better is that the pub is only 10 minutes walk from our house. Winner. Thankyou for making our afternoon fabulous.

Visited three Sunday's in a row now simply because the food is unreal! The carvery is cooked to perfection and is worth every penny! Karen and Chris can't do enough for you, helping everyone find the right table, taking time to talk to their customers and are lovely with children!
The carvery is freshly cooked, the meat was so tender and tasty. It is carved on request and then help yourself to vegetables etc in slow cookers. Absolutely nothing to fault or suggest to improve their service - definitely worth a visit!

Had food in here many times, can’t fault it, fresh local food cooked on premises, fantastic home cooked chips. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Very reasonable prices, even without the dine out scheme. Give it a try

Fantastic value for money Sunday lunch today with free mushroom soup starter. I had beef and it was perfectly cooked, you couldn’t really get much better anywhere. The roast potatoes were lovely too. Generous portions, will definitely be going again! Thanks
