Whenever I have friends come to visit this is the place I always take them to for lunch. The food is amazing, service is fantastic and they serve the most delicious homemade ice cream. My 2 favourite dishes on the tapas menu are the coconut...curried chicken and the crispy fried chilli beef. Need to get myself booked in again soon. 11 out of 10 Steve, Alan and Sophie.More

Our first visit to this hidden gem did not disappoint. 3 adults a 15 year old and a 4 year old all agreed the food here was outstanding. There is plenty to choose from and believe me you are spoilt for choice. Based on tapas...this venue has very cleverly worked out everyone likes a taste of everything. Based on this we ordered 4 mains and 4 sides which was plentiful. My 4 year old grandson had a stone baked margherita pizza. The pizza was so large it would easily fed 3 to 4 children with side of fries. The adults ordered a coconut chicken curry, crispy fried chilli beef, sticky slow roast bbq pork and 8 hr brisket of beef. Sides. Basmati pilau rice. Salt n chilli fries. Sautee of seasonal greens and finally potatoes with garlic and herbs. All for sharing if you like or not whatever your preference. The food was just to good to turn down dessert. All home made including the ice cream. We opted for cheesecake to share. Sticky toffee pudding to share and one vanilla ice cream. Let me tell you..these deserts were up there with the best. Just amazing. If you book here then you are in for a real treat. The Windmill inn has it all. Excellent hosts Sophie and Steve. A wonderful atmosphere and a fantastic dining experience. We can not wait to return. ...More

What a great Sunday lunch. We had a wonderful starter of cauliflower and cheddar soup. The slow cooked beef melted in your mouth.

This place is simply incredible- food, atmosphere, service, staff and owners. 10 out of 10 for everything. We came here after reading the reviews on trip advisor. Could it really be as good as it apparently seems? Well I think it’s better! I have travelled worldwide and...experienced many different cultures, foods and environments and this little gem is right up there with the best, and on our doorstep!!! The owners have obviously got things so right. We visited on A Friday evening around 5pm and was instantly welcomed by Steve and Sophie who are both delightful and obviously proud of their establishment, we kind of got the idea that as newbies here we were in for a treat and it didn’t disappoint. On the recommendations of Sophie( there was 5 of us dining) we went for the Crispy Beef, Coconut Curry, Beef brisket and BBQ Pork, our 4 yr old had a pizza, side dishes of salt and chilli fries, greens, garlic potatoes , basmati rice, was all plentiful. We couldn’t decide who had the best dish, everything was just so tasty and we all shared amongst us. Desserts were equally good, we had Cheese cake and the sticky toffee pudding between 3 of us which was so good. Can’t wait to come back and start working through the menu!More

Dropped in as we passed by on a walk, lovely welcome from the owners. Really different menu, tapas style but original. Great food and service, we will return.

We have eaten here many times over recent years with both friends and family. It has never failed to deliver. The Sunday lunch is excellent, as is the splendid Feast menu. There is always a warm welcome from Sophie and Steve too. Without doubt, it...is our favourite restaurant in the area and we are more than happy to recommend it most highly. You will not be disappointed!More

We attended here for the first time today for Sunday Dinner. I think it was the best I have ever had! The beef was cooked perfectly, needed no cutting at all and the roast potatoes were amazing!! The staff were lovely, the service was quick...and it was good value for money. I’d also recommend the sticky toffee pudding 😋 Looking forward to our next visitMore

Having previously tried Takeaway Sunday Lunches, we had no hesitation in entrusting our Christmas Lunch to The Windmill. As ever, everything worked like clockwork - a short wait to collect the order on Christmas Eve wasn’t too onerous as the bar was open and my...husband managed to down a couple of pints. The order was all correct and the step by step guide meant that everything was reheated to perfection. The only small criticism is that we only got one each of pigs in blankets - could have done with a few more. However there was plenty of everything else and it was all fresh and good quality. The roast parsnips and roast potatoes were perfect. It was as close as you can get to a home prepared dinner without spending hours in the kitchen! Steve and Sophie have worked very hard during the pandemic to maintain their outstanding levels of service. Their innovative ways of working mean they have become almost an essential service in the community. We are very grateful that we have such a gem on our doorstep. Wishing you the very best for 2022, you and your team deserve it!More
