About
Friends, Ben and Pugsy got let down at the last minute and failed to open a Bar in Goa. Still passionate about opening a bar after getting over the disappointment they went for something closer to home. Leicester - In 1997 it was a vibrant town where they both lived, and they thought they could create something that was ideal for the city and our all their mates. They took the first pub they saw, which was really run down and on a deserted end of the high st. Although the Haunch of Vension was its traditional name, they felt it didn't quite fit with vision so after a few days in the records office (no internet then!) they found a pub called the orange tree that used to be just 100 yards away

Really good beer selection and staff are really friendly. As an atmosphere it's very welcoming and definitely cannot fault my time here. Reason it's not a 5 is due to the food menu being limited to a highly vegan and veggie menu. Needs an even...More

Wandered into here to get a sandwich, what a great find, the best fish finger sandwich, the only downside was it was so big I couldn’t finish. Great vegan choices too, next time goats cheese and beetroot. Lovely staff and great home cooked food.More

Came to this pub with Family, lovely friendly staff, good choice of beers and spirits, didn't eat here as we were going elsewhere, food looked good though when it was given to other customers, will return for food when next in the City.

The Sunday roast here used to be amazing. I found the veg to be bland and the Yorkshire was more like a cake! The meat was fine but apart from that very disappointing. Staff were lovely and attentive, just the food lacking!More

We've been here a few times now, really good vegan and vegetarian menu along with traditional food. Great choice of traditional beers. A bar with a country pub feel in the city centre.

The Orange Tree is a good mix between a bar and a pub. Friendly staff and good drinks and cocktails. Some of the beers are slightly on the expensive side but overall a great venue. Lovely outdoor seating for the Summer.More
