Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The restaurant is in real need of refurbishment. Not what I would describe as nice surroundings. The poppadoms were very fusty and cold. The pickle tray was disappointing . My main tasted ok but despite asking for a bit of chilli to spice it up...it was obvious my request fell on deaf ears. The biggest criticism I have is that the main was very very oily. Way too much oil. The starter (onion bargees ) were very large which was nice but they needed more spice in them. The garlic Nan was very good. It was inexpensive but frankly you get what you pay for. That said, the service was good and the waiter pleasant. By the way…. Bring your own booze (there is a supermarket over the road).More

First time visit and it won’t be the last. We ate early so very quiet but the food was excellent. All extremely tasty, good sized portions and was no problem when I asked for extra coriander, which was brought promptly. Try anything. I.m sure you...won’t be disappointed. Can highly recommend a visitMore

We went to the Nawaaz with friends. The first impression was the decor could do with a refresh, but dont be put off. The service, staff and food were fantastic! Its a "bring your own bottle" but that was not a problem. The waiter brought...an opener over before we had sat down. I can thoroughly recommend this restaurant. Will definitely be back.More

Went to this restaurant for dinner before going to a concert. Very nice greeting, we were very early so it was quiet, eaten at many Indian restaurants and can honestly say this is in our top 10. Plenty of flavour and choice, nothing was a...problem. Didn’t wait long, care had been put into the cooking and it was all exceptional. Great to Sat pre concert as the concert hall is 5 minutes away.More

This used to be a decent place to eat but has unfortunately gone very downhill. The food isn’t nice at all. My son refused to eat his - looked like a pale bowl of sick. Nothing seemed fresh and tasteless. Pappadum’s tasted of stale oil,...Naans were flat, oily and bland. Only one other table in on a Friday night so i’m guessing others are avoiding too. Needs a lot of attention decor wise. Storage boxes in view, a collection of dirty looking water jugs still with old water in on the side. Very off putting. A real shame. Left very disappointed.More

Went for a meal on Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed the food, which was also great value. Naan breads were especially delicious and light. Portion sizes were comfortable to eat. Lovely meal! Service responsive but not intrusive which made a refreshing change! Definitely going back. Do...be aware that you need to take your own alcoholic drinks.More

Great to go back to the nawaaz, the Akash as was from student days in 1990s. Great food friendly service. Would highly recommend. Support this local family run restaurant, you won’t be disappointed

Brilliant restaurant. Great service and the food was delicious and good value. Came here after watching a Tigers rugby match. There were four families of us and they were great at looking after such a big party. Highly recommend.

ordered from here based on the 4.4 rating, what a farce. Chicken tikka was pale red with little to no chicken involved, both korma and tikka watery as anything! Never seen anything like it. Chips soaked in oil to the point they just had to...be thrown away! Positive- the naan was decent but come on! How hard is it to get a naan right. I know with the whole Covid situation that things are rough, but jheeze who on earth boxed our meal and thought to themselves that, that was up to STANDARDS? zero pride in their food. As for what came after 24 hours I’m not even gonna delve into! So thanks for that Nazaar. Will never order from here again even if you paid me too.More

Booked for a group of 12 on a Saturday night whilst visiting the city, partly due to the BYOB. Really pleasantly surprised by how tasty the food was. Our party was gifted a number of complimentary naans, poppadums, rice. We were brought glasses, cork screws...etc immediately on arrival and given plenty of time and space to relax. Just wish we'd had more room in our bellies to do the food real justice as it was good quality. Several of the dishes were on the hotter end of expectation - which was absolutely fine for us but to be aware.More

Terrible curry looked like it was made from left overs. I ordered a mixed kebab balti which was nothing like it…The meat was cut into tiny thin strips like a stir fry, never again!!

Me and my partner went to Nawaaz restaurant on a Friday night with some friends. We were the only ones in the restaurant (which worried us all a bit considering it was 8pm on a Friday)! However, the service and food was excellent. We got...lots of free food too, which was a bonus. Poppadoms, rice and extra dish with our meals to all share which was a nice touch. Not forgetting the complimentary ice cream and sweets at the end. You can take your own drink into this restaurant to enjoy with the meal and offered takeaway boxes for the food we didn’t manage to finish. Lots of selection on the menu. Very reasonably priced. Only downside for me was that the restaurant seemed very dated. But that wouldn’t put me off returning for another meal.More
