Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A trip to Lincoln, ruined by this place. I ordered fish and chips, wife ordered english breakfast. How anyone has the nerve to present a sausage burnt to a crisp in a C shape with the skin burnt and stretched over I have no idea....The "mushy peas" were prersented in a side dish with a skin over them, they had obviously sat there for days As for the fish, old and foul. All I needed after this was some mints to take the taste away of rancid fat waitress said " we will process a discount." The harpie at the till said no And charged £21 for absolute rubbish foodMore

Had a lovely breakfast for my birthday. First impressions are that it's a very friendly place with regular customers. Excellent value for money, a large full breakfast and hot and cold drinks all for £8.99. Lovely food too. Will definitely be returning.

I took my friend in Churchill's this morning, order our normal,Potts off tea.Two bacon baps with crispy bacon and chips .Tea arrived had finished our tea no food .Sat and waited eventually arrived chips just warm .Bacon baps cold ,got the young lady too replace,no...apology just said she didn't do cooking .Waited a good 10 minutes plus, the bacon was the same just totally cremated,so said couldn't eat them still no apology paid for both teas and chips .Left feeling very disappointed.I use this little restaurant often. So obviously the bacon was the same just either stuck in microwave or pan and burnt. The staff need a lesson in good p r ,and the cook needs too up her game.Been using this restaurant for past five years very very unhappy customer.More

Waitress was coughing and sneezing. Talking to her friends about her ‘cold’ didn’t see her clean her hands. Has the recent pandemic taught us nothing. Shouldn’t the company provide better standards for staff so they don’t come in when ill?

We visited here yesterday and were greeted by a young assistant who looked so miserable she came back with our order and basically plonked it down on the table! She and another assistant then were on their mobile phones laughing at social media...what a shame...she wasn't as cheerful serving us! As we left and said goodbye she didn't even look up!More

Breakfast was ok but included a hair in beans, staff couldn’t be any miserable and unfriendly in contrast The chap in Jenny’s cafe around the corner was happier and friendly although the breakfast wasn’t as good.

5 of us went for lunch on a Saturday. My kids had fish and chips which were nice and tasty. I had a classic breakfast. I had a thin slice of the end of the black pudding. It would t have hurt to put a...proper bit with it. Baked beans and toast were tepid at best. It was a shame because the rest of the food was nice. My parents enjoyed ham egg and chips and scampi and chips too. Reasonable prices for reasonable food, nice staff, busy restaurant. Happy to visit again.More

Well, where do I begin? Before cafes, restaurants, bars etc went mask free and table service, this place was great. Since then, I’ve been on a few occasions, and each time it’s got worse…today being the one that has made me write this review. First...of all, tables needed emptying outside, all 3 girls were chatting at the counter…I was stood waiting for one to be cleared, when a couple sat down at it…then a girl goes out, clears it, and takes their order…meanwhile I’m sat inside, being ignored. I watched while this happened a few times. I finally ordered, and when it eventually came, I was too hungry to argue….where’s the rustic toast they once had? It’s now thin cheap sliced brown, with no taste, the scrambled egg had seen better days. It used to fill the plate, but not now! I came in the week, and fancied a latte, sorry, the machine is still broken. You don’t a hello, a smile, even a goodbye. The cutlery has seen better days, as have the sticky tables and wobbly chairs. So disappointed with it now. I loved coming here, especially on a Sunday, but it’s now gone to where some others have, back to not caring, it’s like COVID has vanished, therefore, nothing needs cleaning like it used too. Where’s the hand gel? Even the toilets are grubby now….One of the girls I noticed went to Tesco Express across the way for a bottle of coke, a packet of crisps and a tub of pasta….she obviously doesn’t like the food there either! Have they changed the cook maybe? Cut down on produce? They don’t do skimmed or semi skimmed milk, nor do they do decaf tea or coffee, it’s full milk, take it or leave….sorry it’s so long, but it’s what I should of said a few weeks ago, Hope this might get a reaction to whoever owns the place and gets the staff retrained in health hygiene, manners and food prep!More

We ate here on our way to the castle for breakfast. Friendly polite team and we both ordered a breakfast bap which was full of tasty bacon and nicely fried egg . My only disappointment was it was served on a brioche bun which I...think is okay for burgers but a bit sweet for breakfast. Should of had the full breakfast which looked lovely. Decent price and nice cup of tea.More

I had craved a breakfast from here for most of lockdown, but was a little concerned when some of the recent reviews on here suggested a decline in quality. I'm glad to report that this doesn't seem to be the case! I went for "the...works" and got everything shown in the photo for £7.99. Whille I did have to wait for a little bit, the place was very busy and when the food did arrive everthing was cooked perfectly. Churchills will remain my go-to place for breakfast in Lincoln.More
