Fantastic food. We had 6 tapas in total which was just right. Lovely spot. Fast service. Staff rushed off their feet as really busy place. Highly recommended.

Lovely spot with a view of the cathedral, but despite there seeming to be many staff, it took an age to get served.

We love Spanish food and having both worked for a major Spanish company for some years we had an idea how it should be. This place is NOT it. It is an idea how it should be but it ends there. They bring the food...out as quickly as possible which is not the Spanish way and not the way to serve tapas so rushed. We did comment on this but regardless the plates kept coming... if ordering tapas then do it one at a time unless you want the whole meal over in an hour.More

We had the set meal and added calamari’s. The sharing board of cured meats and cheese came out first with the bread and oils. As we just started eating it the patatas bravas along with mushroom came out which we thought was a bit strange...so we decided to leave the cold platter and eat the hot food but then the meatballs and chorizo came out instantly followed by the calamari’s and cod. Food was going cold before we had chance to eat it. We felt very rushed and totally unrelaxed for a meal that wasn’t cheap. Nothing like eating tapas in Spain. This is such a shame as the food was tasty and good sized portions. If you are in a rush and don’t mind speed eating this is the place for you.More

We visited yesterday and have the most delicious food. The staff were incredible and lovely and it has become my favourite restaurant in Lincoln.

Came in for lunch on a Saturday, was drawn in straight away as the food smelled great, we did walk a little way down the road to explore our other options first but circled back to Olivares as it looked the nicest. Sat outside in...the sun, the restaurant is right near what seems to be a popular busking spot so we had some acoustic guitar accompanying the meal which was nice. It took a little while to get the staff’s attention (always a bit of a danger when seated outside) however once we’d ordered the food arrived really quickly. We had the two dishes for £15 lunch deal which comes with bread and alioli. We ordered the calimares, chorizo vino tinto, patatas con alioli and championes al ajillo. All the food was delicious, especially the chorizo and calimares, and the portion sizes were generous. Had a bit of a battle getting the staff’s attention again when it came time to ask for the bill and ended up nipping in to pay inside instead so knocked off a star for that, however would still definitely recommend as the food was terrific and we had a great time - will definitely be back next time we’re in Lincoln.More

What a fantastic place. Cosy and full of atmosphere but more importantly, full with excellent food. Having never been to Spain, I don't know whether Olivares is the 'real' thing. However, the Spainish ladies in the kitchen sounded the real thing! We chose a set...menu for two plus a couple of additional items and that proved sufficient for a substantial blowout for three people. All washed down with a half decent bottle of cava. The star was without doubt the calamari 'extra ' we ordered although crocettas and meatballs were both excellent and the aioli a vampire's worse nightmare. Breaded cod in a tomato sauce was less successful - why put a wet sauce with a breaded fish that should be crispy. Good friendly service contributed to a lovely experience.More

First time trying Olivares and I now regret not going there sooner! This is such a beautiful setting, the decor is so nice and cosy, like no other restaurant in Lincoln. The food was amazing, every dish we tried was great, especially the chicken croquetas,...bacalo (cod fillet) and the chorizo and prawns. I would highly recommend visiting, we can’t wait to come back!More

I have a gluten intolerance and onion allergy and this proves a nightmare when eating out and can be impossible at times. I am normally very cautious and go for a safe steak but not tonight! I called ahead of our visit just to make...sure there would be some options and was told yes, so we went along. I cannot tell you how delighted I am, the food was delicious, we had 7 tapas between us, all were beautiful and flavoursome. The staff were also very helpful especially the young lady who answered the call and served us. She was so knowledgeable and reassuring which made the visit even more memorable. It’s a shame we don’t live in Lincoln as this would be a firm favourite. Thank you for a memorable and tasty meal.More
