We ordered a set menu and it was excellent. Great variety, beautifully cooked. It is so good to have authentic Spanish food prepared by a Spanish chef. The service was fine and the ambience lovely.

Good food in wonderfully atmospheric surroundings. Small & cosy, with a distinct Alpine ambience, the tapas options were varied & very tasty. The restaurant is situated in a delightful area of the city, very convenient after visiting both the Cathedral & the Castle.
Lovely setting and fantastic Tapas. Staff cheerful and helpful. Couldn’t fault it here. Just a note for anyone visiting with mobility issues, ask for a table downstairs. Olivares is over 3 floors with steep stairs, it’s a lovely old building.
Olivares tapas bar was an absolute treat! I had booked this restaurant for my husband’s birthday whilst we were visiting Lincoln for a few days. It was quirky but comforting inside. The staff were pleasant and accommodating. But the food…. It was so delicious! We...had the set meal to share and there was a lot of food! Each and every individual part of the meal was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing! What a birthday treat my husband had. We will most definitely be visiting again if we find ourselves in or around the Lincoln area again!More
We come here every year for our anniversary as this was where we had our first date, the food and service is always exceptional, thank you to all the staff for making every visit special!
Fabulous spot. Lovely place to eat. Staff excellent. Food fabulous. Reasonable prices Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Really looked forward to this but wow very disappointing, staff are in need of some serious training , stood around slagging other staff and managers off , over charged on bill , food was a average calamari wasn’t good over cooked , bell stuff pepper...was best if the lot .More
So quaint and charming, delicious food! Croquetas de pollo were absolutely gorgeous! If you’re in lincoln definitely worth a visit
Visited with a friend for dinner and, unfortunately, was underwhelmed. First impression is how claustrophobic it is inside. Accessibility is really difficult with how steep and narrow the stairs are. Luckily, none of us had mobility issues, but they didn't ask either, so not sure...how they would accommodate people with mobility needs. Our table was in the middle of the little room, and space was a little tight with everyone moving around us. Service was average - they took our drinks order (red sangria) but seemed like they forgot, and so we had to remind them to bring it. Food came out suspiciously quickly, some of it hot and some of it lukewarm, and so we had food before we had anything to drink (tapas literally is nibbles for your drinks). When ordering, we wondered why some tapas were triple the price of others and were hoping they would be bigger portions to share, but unfortunately, they were still small portions just overpriced. The kicker was chorizo and king prawns in a small clay dish, few spoonfuls each £15.95, i wish i had taken a photo of it. This is the price for a full main dish normally. 2 pieces of stuffed chicken thighs £12.95. One piece of Tumbet (layered veg with sauce) which we had to split £11.95. Our bill came to £50 per person.More
Stopped for lunch and sat outside. It was a lovely atmosphere and the food was delicious and fresh. My wife is a ceoliac and the chef came out to make sure everything we ordered would be ok and we had a allot of gluten free...options. The only disappointment was that they don't do any gluten free bread. If we find ourself in Lincoln again we would definitely go back.More
We visited this lovely little restaurant last night for drinks after our evening meal elsewhere. It’s was lovely to sit outside on a balmy evening with stunning views of the castle and cathedral around us. The atmosphere was buzzing and the staff were friendly. The...delicious waft of everyone else’s Tapas made us want to return to eat there tonight… sadly they aren’t open on Sunday evenings which is such a shame.More
Delicious food, nice service, lovely restaurant in the centre of Lincoln with stunning view on the castle and the cathedral if you sit outside.
Attended this restaurant on a Friday night for a meal around 8pm. Had really been looking forward to this meal as usually our favourite tapas restaurant. Quickly shown up to a nice table and ordered drinks and food promptly. Food arrive quick but sadly disappointing....The beef meatballs are usually so tasty in a rich tomato sauce, this time tasteless in a watery tomato sauce. Cod dish was very oily and chicken thighs quite dry. Chicken croquettes and pastas bravas however full of flavour. Bill arrived and we had numerous items and a bottle of wine added that we hadn’t ordered. Took 3 attempts for the waitress to get our bill correct. Check your bill!More
Dropped in on a day trip to Lincoln. Absolutely no regrets. Fantastic lunch had. Food and service was superb. Highly recommend anyone in the vicinity visits as you won't be disappointed.
Arrived 9.00 after phone call to see if they would accept us that late and they agreed. Family of 4 Shown to table. Just diet cokes ordered to drink, they arrived at room temperature, not chilled and no ice. Waiter arrived to take order but...no menus had been given out. Order placed and food arrived but only 2 plates on table so had to borrow unused plates from neighbouring table. Food was very good. Further drinks requested - never arrived! On departure we said thank you to the staff, one male member of staff just looked at us and said nothing. Maybe it’s not normal to thank staff on departure or maybe he was downright rude. A real shame as the food was good but the staff/service not good. And you had the cheek to present the card machine for payment and left the machine open to include a tip! Your staff need to know you get tips for good service!More
