Visiting Liverpool to meet friends with a list of 10 of the best places to eat in the city. Spent a frustrating afternoon trying to book a table of 5 and couldn't get into any of the places on the list, happily as it turned out because I found Chamber 36. The restaurant was quiet but still had a buzzy feel. The team were young but both patient and attentive (friends catching up prioritise the chatting not the drinks or food). When we finally got around to ordering the food came quickly and was plentiful and delicious. There was a lot of catching up and although we were the last ones left in the restaurant we felt under no pressure to pay up and leave. The bill came to just over £100 for 5 and that included a bottle of wine and some gin and tonics. We all left very impressed.

I've eaten here a few times, usually on a quiet weekday, and the food here is outstanding and very well priced.
Most recent trip was on a busy Saturday night during these tough times of lockdown.
Chamber 36 has done an excellent job in screening the designated seating areas and tables. Service is prompt and on point. They've done an immaculate job of ensuring safety for customers and guests without affecting the great atmosphere in this cool and welcoming place.
Great job all round and we will be back soon!

Excellent food and very friendly staff. We got chicken skewers to start and then for main we had Thai red curry and pad Thai, both delicious. Very good portion sizes so much so we struggled to finish.
Only tiny little thing for improvement would be that it felt a little bright when we came in (7.15pm) however the lights were dimmed shortly after we came in.

Really disappointed. We read great reviews about this place so had high hopes.
I can’t criticise the service, our waiter was very attentive. The restaurant is very smart and the atmosphere was good.
The food however was what let’s it down. The calamari was overcooked and tough. The Wor Tips were bog standard supermarket bought not made in house. The Siu Mei rice had a few slices of bland, fatty pork with a splash of soy sauce. It was supposed to be fried rice but came with a dome of plain tasteless rice with no egg in it as you would expect.
In a typically British fashion I paid and left a tip (as I couldn’t fault the service) and left without complaining. I just want to point out that the standard of food doesn’t meet the quality of the establishment and staff.

This is the 1st time ever I have decided to write a review of a restaurant. Don’t get me wrong I have had average food in the past, but that is usually pub food, which sometimes you get what you pay for. Chamber 36, you definitely do not get what you pay for, in fact quite the opposite, you pay lots of money for bang average food. I ordered Pad Thai as a main course, which arrived before my starter! How a chef could allow this dish out of the kitchen is beyond comprehension, the noodles had been overcooked by 30 minutes at least and despite the cooking time were served unbelievably lukewarm. The waiting staff did not offer any apologies when I complained, just asked me if I wanted an alternative dish, so I ordered Thai red curry. I asked for this with extra spice; if any at all were added I would be surprised, it tasted like a microwave meal from a cheap supermarket, the most bland bowl of curry I have ever had. I was not the only person in our party who had to return their food and post meal, others in the party admitted in hindsight they should have done the same. I have read the positive reviews on line and mine obviously contradicts other experiences so maybe it was a bad night, however myself and the 7 other people in the group will not return and I certainly would not recommend to anyone else.

Thank you very much for your feedback, it's always much appreciated. We are disappointed to hear that you didn't enjoy your food as we are very often complimented on our dishes. In light of this, I must mention that a number of our staff did report that your party were very rude and disrespectful throughout the entirety of your visit, leaving them feeling upset. Our staff's wellbeing is a top priority for us, so unfortunately we will not be able to offer you any compensation for your disappointing review as a result. We will, however, take on board all of your comments as we are always committed to improving our customers' satisfaction. Thanks

Great front of house and bar staff, but quite possibly the most bland fusion food I’ve ever tasted.
We looked at trip advisor for the best Chinese in one of the oldest “China Towns” in Europe, this one came up as number one.
We were met by a really friendly server and ordered a meat platter, crispy pork belly and duck bao. We asked the server to let the bartender know that we would love them to choose appropriate cocktails for our food.
The cocktails were delicious.
The food however, was the most bland, uninspiring and beige “Chinese food” that I’ve ever had the misfortune of eating.
I won’t bore you with too many of the details as we left most of it, but the spring rolls were pale and flavourless, I was unaware that I’d eaten a King prawn vermicelli wrap, the bao buns were chewy, the filling had the texture and flavour of marinated pencil shavings; and the Kyoto ribs were almost a flavour match for Asda’s own. The salt and pepper chicken was like a lightly battered tip of a McNugget with absolutely no flavour.
However, the chicken skewers were delicately flavoured and cooked well.
All in all, I felt that this place would be great for drunken students to pretend that they had tried Chinese cuisine, and probably had quite a nice cocktail served by another friendly student.
But don’t go there if you’re after anything slightly authentic or flavourful.

I went to Chamber 36 for dinner for the first time with my mum and stepdad as they were over in Liverpool visiting. For starters we got: vegetable spring rolls (vegan), duck croquettes and duck pancakes and for mains we got: beef ho-fun, tofu pad thai (vegan) and thai pineapple & chicken fried rice (which I have to say was presented beautifully). I was really happy with the vegan options available, so much so that I've brought the leftovers home with me, and the night was made even better by our lovely waitress Gabby!

I've been here a few times and booked it for my boyfriends birthday on a Friday night during a pandemic. Food/cocktails were amazing and the staff were brilliant and accommodating. A few of the guests were late but this was not an issue for the staff. They were attentive and and put everything at ease. All of us loved the food and cocktails! We stayed for most of the night (we booked for 8pm so they didn't rush us to leave).
The small dishes were delicious. My boyfriend ordered beef ho fan as its his favourite Chinese dish and they cooked it so well. My favourite was the Bruce chini and violetta cocktail.
As for the cleanliness during these difficult times, They did a great job at managing social distance and cleanliness of all areas.
Thank you for the amazing service and food and we will be back there soon x

First time visiting Liverpool. We were directed to this place by a local, and were not disappointed. As a lover of Asian cuisine, immediately tickled our fancy. On arrival we were sat by a lovely girl called Sophia and immediately attended to our needs, water brought to the table menus given. Being mid-week she immediately told us of the offers. Throughout constantly fussed over us, food was brought to us hot and delicious, and staff were constantly checking up on us. We even got some complimentary shots. Can not fault. Would definitely recommend. The staff are a credit to the company and to Liverpool! Will visit again.

Dreadful. I had booked an anniversary dinner a month in advance for 9pm on a Saturday night. It is important to note that I could book a dinner reservation until 10pm. I rang the restaurant to say that we would be 5 minutes late due to an Uber issue.
I was informed by a very blunt woman that the kitchen would be closing at 9:15pm so could we hurry up. I was not informed of this. I was confused as when I made the reservation I could book a slot until 10pm . The customer service was rude and unprofessional as naturally I should have been informed of this hours prior and then been asked if I would like to push my reservation forwards to accommodate this. I was not.
I was informed that I could place an order for the kitchen over the phone. This was completely unacceptable as I hardly wanted my anniversary dinner to be treated as a takeaway order as this restaurant is more on the pricey side.
I was given the impression that we would have been rushed through the door due to the order over the phone having been requested. My partner and I decided that this was completely unacceptable and that we hardly wanted to spend over £120 on a dinner that would be rushed on our anniversary.
We decided that we did not want that experience which was evident from the terrible customer service I had experienced over the phone. We were told that my card would be charged £10 as we had cancelled less than 48 hours before our reservation.
Normally I would have thought that this was reasonable however in this circumstance it was not. We should have been informed at least 4 hours before our reservation that the kitchen would be closing at 9:15 (which is incredibly early for a Saturday night) and asked if we like to push our reservation forwards to accommodate this. As we were not informed at all to be charged £10, experience dreadful customer service and then ask if we would to place an order over the phone as if we were ordering a cheap takeaway is completely unacceptable.
Therefore I placed a late reservation with Dash who thankfully had a table since chamber 36 nearly ruined our anniversary dinner.
I will never book this restaurant again due to the terrible customer service I have also informed all my friends and family to not book here.

We decided to visit this restaurant after reading reviews decided on this venue. As soon as we arrived our host Gabby was so welcoming, immediately asked if we had any allergies (I do so this was very important for me), our food was timely, well prepared and most of all delicious. Gabby checked on us to make sure the wine, food and anything else was perfect for our valentines date. She even listening to my awful jokes all night with a smile and a laugh so we couldn’t credit her enough! Another note the lady who brought over the wine was so polite and friendly with great banter. The best restaurant service I’ve had in Liverpool in my three years here, would recommend with no doubt!

Visited with a large group of friends for a birthday party. We were welcomed and given a very comfortable corner booth. The staff were attentive to our needs and somehow didn't get annoyed when were were all talking over each other ordering our food.
I had charsui bao and singapore vermicelli, both of which I highly reccomend.
Despite such a large order, the food all came out at the same time and we tucked into a veritable feast.
After dinner we stayed for a few cocktails, the dragonball zombie was my favourite.
I currently have a killer hangover, and just had more vermicelli from there delivered to me on deliveroo. Feel loads better. Well deserved 5 stars

Service was first class and the food was good too (calamari not so)
This place has a lovely vibe, friendly and efficient staff.
The menu is pan Asian - so not Chinese as such, and a limited range of menu choices.
Gabby did a great job for us, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend, but if you want traditional Chinese you will need to look elsewhere.

Me and my girlfriend came to chamber 36 to celebrate getting a house together. Straight away we were greeted by the lovely Jade, she sat us in a booth, recommended certain items on the menu and was helpful in every way. The food was amazing, I had the duck breast it was tasty. My girlfriend being vegetarian sometimes finds it hard to find good food to suit her, not this time. Tempura veg, tofu and aubergine and soft sticky rice just amazing. Drinks were spot on Prosecco and cocktails.
Thanks to the staff we’ll definitely be coming more often. Highly recommend.

Fantastic pan-Asian and great staff. Was recommended by a friend and easily the best restaurant in which we have eaten for some time. Superb friendly, knowledgable and attentive staff. Delicious small plates( try the crispy pork belly and Vietnamese spring rolls) the mains are reasonable- loved the Nasi goreng. Highly recommended.
