This place is local to us but haven’t tried it before, however, we decided to eat here recently taking advantage of the offer, 50% off pizza and pasta Monday-Wednesday. We did book a table in advance, place was quite busy, first impressions was how bright it was, tables were distanced too. We sat down and handed menus, after couple of minutes we were asked would we like to order drinks. Didn’t appear to be any drinks listed on the menu we were given, however, on the table there was a wine list and a cocktail list, but when I asked did they have a “normal” drinks list, was quite surprised to be told they don’t have one (and with a wave of a hand) told that all beers / ciders and spirits were on display at the bar!!! Food when ordered came out pretty quickly, it was quite tasty, pizza base and garlic bread was really thin which we like. For the price we paid it was value for money.

Visited with a group of friends, food was lovely firstly. However we waited a LONG time to be served, had to call the waiter over to order our drinks, when we did we waited around 20 minutes and nothing arrived... had to wait again, a few of the drinks that we didn’t get still appeared on the bill. We could only see 2 staff and it got quite busy so understandably service was not up to scratch. I hadn’t reviewed previously but this was the 3rd visit here in the last year and it was the same situation on each occasion. Lady on the till did not appear happy when we asked for the service charge to be removed- we did still tip of course but at a discretionary amount. Maybe management could use this as a prompt to discuss how the meal/experience was to show they care about rectifying it. Please get the service/staffing sorted as it’s a great place but this can’t be happening regularly- people will go elsewhere after being patient with a local business they want to support.

Staying in the area for a short time, so was delighted to see this very local restaurant offering Sunday roast for 10.50. Booked for Sunday afternoon and excited for roasties, beef and home made gravy which was on yhe menus we were given. The restaurant was empty, and after the waitress who looked like she wanted to be somewhere else and couldnt manage a smile; informed me they dont do roast dinners and havent for months, iwanted to escaoe to the toby carvery down the road. however as id already ordered over priced red wine/vinegar i opted for the mozarella salad and my guest had the carbarnara. It was quite nice but the pasta portiondidnt warrant the 16 pound price tag. I wouldnt recommend.

Firstly the waitress made us feel like she didn't want to be there she got our order wrong my partner didn't get her drink my son got the wrong pizza and my carbonara was made with cream(stated egg yoke)and came 10 minutes before my partners linguine Gambon that was nothing more than linguine and few chopped chillies and basil the prawns where a decent size but that's all that I have positive to say. my meal was cold by the time hers came when I told the waiter he said "what do you expect where busy". They weren't. I now feel ill from my meal and if I was able to pay by card I would of made a claim but I was told it is cash only makes you wonder why they don't take card. The staff never had any masks on either and no exemption tabards. I would highly recommend going elsewhere as me and my family will be doing in the future. If I am ill ill be contacting them to notify them so they may need to remove items off the menu. Also mens toilet had no soap in dispenser and tap was broken, can't comment on women's for obvious reasons. I was never asked how my meal was to give my issues and as they where "busy" it makes sense although the restaurant was only half full glad I won't see what it's like when it's full!!!! Horrible staff ! Horrible food ! Horrible service !

Booked here for a family meal after it being recommended to us. On arrival, we were met with a manager I believe his name to be Peter, who was extremely offhand and arrogant towards us. Nevertheless we sat down and ordered our food hoping it would make up for it. Sadly this was not the case. We ordered the penne pollo primarva which was dry, lumpy and entirely tasteless. The chicken was over cooked and inedible. We also ordered the spaghetti Bolognese which was bland with no flavour at all, the meat was gristly and unpleasant to eat. We had also ordered some garlic breads etc to share as a family and these were forgotten and not brought to our table until we had asked and had nearly finished our meal. Service was slow despite being fairly quiet and staff were heard laughing and joking around. Very disappointed given the good reviews we had been previously given. Won’t be back.

Delicious Italian food and Friendly helpful staff. We were competing at an event just up the road at the Aintree international equestrian centre and decided to try Francos for lunch, we liked it so much we came back another two times during our stay. The sharing stater platter was delicious, the pizzas were superb as was the garlic pizza bread with cheese. Reasonably priced and Highly recommended for great Italian food. We hope to return in November.

Never been to Franco's, decided last minute. When we arrived there were abut eight or nine people eating, so it was very quiet. We ordered our food, when it came it was hot and fresh. I have to say, anyone who knows me I am very hard to please. I was completely blown away. My Sea food Marinara was absolutely mind blowing, lots of mussels, calamari, enough prawns which were cooked to perfection and topped off which langoustine. My husband ordered a chicken dish and our son the Arabbiatta with chicken and a side of Garlic Bread. Both of then agreed with mw the food was spot on. Our waiter, Pablo was lovely and had a huge smile on his face, The young lady - never got her name was really professional and welcoming. I would seriously highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys authentic Italian food.

Mixed review of Francos. The location was ideal for us with only being a ten minute drive away. The restaurant itself was cute, clean & the tables weren’t all on top of each other which was nice as it was quite small inside so that was good. There was three staff on when we visited on 14.2.22 the male member of staff was amazing, so nice, attentive, helpful and manners were exceptional. The other two members of staff made us feel awkward with their lack of customer service skills so that wasn’t a great experience. I ordered a mojito, it was £7 and all I got was a lime and soda with one leaf in it, don’t waste your time or money. The food was ok, the salad to start wasn’t amazing and the spicy pasta wasn’t spicy but the sauce was tasty enough’ room for improvement for sure. Thank you

Used to be one melling road and food was fabulous. Now it’s opened as francos decided to try it and it was definitely not worth the trip. My chilli prawn linguine was completely bland even though I asked for it to be spicy. Other meal sea bass and prawns. Again had no flavour to it so disappointed In this meal and felt so embarrassed I couldn’t even tell the waiter how un satisfied we was. Felt embarrassed to say how awful it was. I wouldn’t waste you time and money.

The last time I visited this building it was Thompson Dance academy and my eldest sister had dragged me along for a lesson in classical dancing. I vowed never to return. Sixty two years later my wife took me back there for a birthday meal. It was now Francos. It was a Tuesday evening but still quite busy. The service was fast and friendly. The food was delicious and they even packed us a 'doggy bag' because the meals were so big we couldn't finish everything. The only complaint I have is that I was too stuffed to stand. We will be back. P's. ..It wasn't cold. I just like wearing a scarf :-)

1st time I’ve been since it was reopened as Franco’s, and 1st time I’ve dined out since the pandemic. Upon arrival we were greeted & promptly shown to our table (I was with my wife & 2 friends visiting from Birmingham) and soon asked if we wanted a drink while we pondered over the menu. After choosing our meals (I had spaghetti carbonara, wife had lasagna & my friends had the calzone & pasta al forno, we also shared 2 lots of hand cooked chips) we didn’t wait long before they were served. We all commented that the food portions were good & the taste was outstanding. The prices for the dishes & drinks were fine too. Needless to say that we can thoroughly recommend this place & will be back soon. Pity I forgot to take some photos of our food!

Tried this for the first time since it changed from 1 Melling Rd and I don't think we'll be going back. Service was good, I had meatballs with spaghetti and I don't think the meatballs were homemade and the sauce was definitely out of a can, more like tomato soup than sauce. My wife had a chicken pasta dish and that was also one to not go back for. On asking for the bill they tried to sneak in a an "optional" 10% Christmas service charge on to our bill even though it was the 27th, as we were going to tip a similar amount we decided to not contest the charge but withhold the tip. I sincerely hope the staff get the extra money Sadly Franco's does not live up to the previous owners standards so we won't be going back.

I’d like to give a big shout-out for Franco’s Italian Restaurant in Aintree. For the second year running, myself and a small team have been allocated a working point right outside Franco’s on the junction of Melling Road / Warbreck Moor as part of the Grand National Festival. The team at Franco’s could not have been more accommodating and friendly towards us. Franco’s is an excellently located choice for delicious race day breakfasts and serves food throughout the day had a great buzz after racing with live music and dancing. The entire team at Franco’s extend the kind of absolutely genuine welcome and service that can only be found in Liverpool. Highly recommended.

Came here as a group of 6 adults and 1 child for my partner's mum's birthday. We waited half an hour for starters and had to ask multiple times for the staff to check when they would be ready, of which their response would be, "in a minute" every time. The table wasn't dressed properly so we had to ask for more cutlery, to which we were given knives and forks in a wine cooler bucket as if it were self service. We then had to instruct the staff to take our plates away when we were finished with starters after waiting 20 mins for them to come. When the main meals did arrive, it was evident that very cheap ingredients were used and I could honestly make a better meal at home. We were very dissatisfied with the lack of customer service and they weren't genuinely apologetic or going to offer any compensation/goodwill gesture at all until one of our party spoke to the manager. He had a very bad attitude and a bad temper but agreed to take the starters off the bill. The experience completely ruined the occasion. If you happen to be in the area, just avoid this place and go to the Turkish restaurant down the road.

Popped in for a quick bit of supper and a beer last night as staying at Aintree Racecoure for a couple of days and the restaurant is just around the corner. Just wanted a nice easy meal, the Tempura 🍤 to start were fantastic 👌 we then had two pasta dishes for main as its 30% off pasta and pizza dishes Mon - Thurs. They were some of the best pasta dishes my wife and I have ever had and we have been lucky enough to eat in alot of nice restaurants. Staff were lovely all in all a fab experience and very reasonably priced. It will be first on our list if we return. Super atmosphere too.
