As we were in the Cathedral at lunchtime we decided to sample the famous 'scouse'. - it was piping hot and tasty - just what we needed. The cafe is pretty basic but it did the job.

Four of us had a nice lunch in here, nothing fancy, just good food. Three of us had sausage and mash the other had jacket potato, cheese and beans with salad. We finished off with scones, apple cake and bakewell and lots of tea.

Lovely restaurant, friendly staff, excellent meals - Scouse was served in a sort of miniature cauldron :-) Nice and quiet, with discreet classical music. Highly recommended.

What a crying shame! Beautiful inspiring and spiritual location spoilt by poor food food and shoddy service in the Welsford so-called restaurant. Luke warm tea served in Latte cups for god's sake, With 'I saw You Coming' Scouse ladled into a cornflakes bowl, tasty but tiny and no beetroot or red cabbage. Dry-as-a bone falafel served with strong chilli sauce... More

We visited the cathedral and thought as it was lunch time we'd give the restaurant a go, it was really nice, the food was excellent, generous sized portions and decent value. Oh and proper home made chips!

Ate here quite soon after it opened on Saturday, so only the 2 of us in to start with. Staff very friendly. Chose an excellent toffee cake. Very moist & beautifully light. Tea arrived very quickly. Other people soon turned up & all received the same friendly service. Would come back again.

We decided to have a bowl of soup to satisfy our hunger yet weren't sure what the soup was from it's description. Upon asking we were given a small bowl of soup to taste. This proved to be delicious & so we promptly ordered a bowl each. This was a lovely touch. The only downside was we thought it a... More

My husband and I took my elderly parents to the Cathedral on Sunday. We were amazed at the beauty of it all. Bought some things from the shop and decided to have a well earned cup of tea in the restaurant. We ordered our drinks and bought some scones. By the time the tea arrived, we had eaten the scones....
