Scouse looked/tasted nothing like scouse, no meat in it at all! £8.25. Staff couldn't care less. Never again.
We waited 25 mins for two coffees, the staff couldn't be less interested, what the drinks came they were like water, no taste what so ever, won't be going back
We popped in at lunchtime as the sign said they served scouse. We ordered the scouse and a beef chilli. The chilli tasted home made. It had a slight spiciness and was delicious. The scouse was like a thick soup, it tasted lovely. The place...was clean, the prices fair and we left feeling full.More
The food was okay, it's a cafe. The bacon and black pudding were a little undercooked, the saucy chopped tomatoes were a nice change.
this looked a nice local cafe bar as me and my wife walked down bold street looking for a bit of lunch, pleasant staff, clean cafe, thought we would try the local specility, SCOUSE, i assumed it would be similar to a beef stew with...beef and vegetables, well i think we must have been given the vegetarian version, between us there wasnt one piece of meet in it, very disappointed £8-25p each for a bowl of very mushy vegetables, felt as though these tourists had been mugged, sadMore
Best breakfast in Liverpool freshly cooked to perfection very clean friendly staff will definitely return.
Everyone was really friendly and the place was busy. Had a couple of lunches and they were very good for the price. Would go again.
Terrible Worse steak pie and curry ever So many good restaurants in street too Avoid at all costs Microwave never stopped Fresh no chance Feel sick after visit
Wasn’t impressed I had roast chicken leg with chips the leg was tiny and very dry didn’t taste fresh at all .My friend had lasagna her opinion was it wasn’t home made Would not go there again .The staff were friendly to say the least
Nice enough place and the staff were friendly enough. I was looking forward to a bowl of scouse, cos I'd heard Maggie May's was famous for it. However, I was slightly underwhelmed when I received it. Very small portion with hardly any meat in it....To be honest, it didn't taste that special either and seemed as though it had come out of can. I'm sure I can find much better scouse in Liverpool. I'll just have to look a little harder.More
I brought friends here who are from Manchester. Before meeting the staff , first impressions of how clean the place was. no dirty tables, & cleaned as table emptied. The food was great with a good selection on the menu. The staff very friendly &...helpful at all times. We didn't wait long after placing our orders, & we where all served at the same time Toilets. like the rest of the place were superbly clean. We all had an excellent lunch in very cosy, pleasant surroundings. with helpful staff .I t beats some of the restaurants that we have visited who are ranked as 4 & 5 star. Thanks to all the staff.More
Good portions good value- staff were kind to my children. Situated in bold street near many other places to eat and drink
Looks a nice traditional cafe, pot of tea for two, very weak. Warm apple pie and ice cream, a very small portion provided, jacket potato and tuna, very hard, one tiny pkt butter, left the vast majority, not nice at all. Not great tbh
We loved this place. The food and service was great, and the prices were reasonable. It doesn't open until about 09:45, so ideal for those wanting a later breakfast. Breakfast or lunch in a friendly place On Bold Street, very close to our base. It...is an inviting, friendly eating house - A variety of meals and home made "scouse" Maggie May's for us strongly held sway As our out and out preference every dayMore
