Nice menu, reasonably priced food, but on the two occasions I visited, the attitude of the serving staff let the place down. Nobody seems to enjoy their work. There was nothing to indicate what the soup of the day was or how much it was, so I asked and almost had my head bitten off. There were no "pleases" or... More

Went for dinner last night with friends before going to the theatre. 2 courses for £9.95. Food is delicious as usual. Great value. Only negative was the surly attitude of the English girl serving last night. Unfriendly and almost rude. Everyone commented on her surly manner. One dessert was literally thrown on the plate upside down. Rude to just keep... More

I came to the cafe to hear a musical group and was pleased that I could eat and drink at the same time. I arrived around 7.15 and found that most of the food choices were sold out and there was a massive queue and very slow service. Each meal order, apart from salads (most of those had gone) had... Been here a few times now and every time I visit the food is amazing. Freshly cooked and a great variety. Had a 2 course evening meal for £9.95, absolute bargain and was delicious. There was a concert on at the Philharmonic so it was handy for a pre theatre meal, quick and tasty

Wow what an evening! I'd heard that Blackburne House Cafe had live music events, and that some of them were free, but I wasn't expecting such a fantastic night out, especially on a dreary Tuesday evening! We had a beautiful two course meal for £9.95 each, a bottle of wine, realistically priced, and were entertained for a couple of hours... More

A lovely and relatively peaceful venue, where one can meet with friends and have a good catch-up wihtout being drowned by loud music. The food is home-made and extremely tasty, with good choice for vegetarians. You can sit outside in summer.

We ate here on a Thursday evening and it was busy with a large group having a pre-theatre meal. The food was very good and the portions generous. It was clean and the staff were friendly - overall very good value for a casual meal. We didn't try the cakes but there was an impressive selection.

Popped in for lunch. Not an expansive menu but certainly enough 'lunch time' choice. On this occasion I had a jacket potato topped with cheese. This comes with a small accompanying salad. It was piping hot and delicious. Having visited this premises a few times before I have always found the food to be tasty, reasonably priced and served in... More
