All reviews curry naan rice poppadom lamb indian restaurant stanley street best indian lovely meal city centre visiting liverpool saturday night recommend this restaurant amazing food piping hot visited this restaurant starters
My husband and I would choose an Indian meal before any other so we have eaten many many curries. This one in Spice city, sidney street , li erpool was the best ever..
It was very busy but we had pre booked and were seated...quickly. We had shami kebabs starters which were fresh and so tasty...you could tell they had been made when ordered. Mains were amazing I had tandoori king prawns saag. The prawns were to die for and must have been caught in Jurassic park...so big were they. A keema naan was light and tasty. The mushroom pilau rice was light and fluffy ..very tasty.. Poppadoms were warm and pickle tray lovely. We drank draught Kingfisher beer which was foaming and cold. The staff were very nice....very busy but able to have little chats. We spoke to the chef at the end of the meal and expressed how much we had enjoyed his food and the quality of it ..he was very humble about it all. It was a gret culinary experience.....lovely presentation and taste ...will definately go again......well worth a trip from manchester ......and I do highly recommend.More
The first curry for a while and whenever I have one from Spice City I think I should have had one sooner. Great flavours as always, I order something different every time. The peshwari naan bread was so nice and not sweet.
On this occasion...I was covid-19 positive and it needed to be delivered to my flat door with no contact. Left a comment on ordering and no problems, with just a quick phone call to verify the floor number.
Only one small observation this time was the sauce and daal being little runny.More
I visited on a Saturday with my husband and son for an early dinner to celebrate a birthday. I’ve been trying to think of something negative for the review and can’t think of a single thing. Everything I ate - onion bhaji, garlic naan, bhuna...- all tasted great.
All of the staff were attentive, friendly and helpful.
I really hope we get to return when we’re next in Liverpool!More
We come Liverpool for my wife’s birthday she seen spice city on trip advisor and really wanted to try it, we wasn’t disappointed the mixed starter for 2 was the best starters I have ever had and the mains were both amazing too.
Staff were...great especially Paige.
Would come back weekly if it was local.More
A taste sensation. Absolutely delicious. We just came to Liverpool for a couple of nights away, after a holiday had been cancelled. This was around the corner from our apartment also feeling quite tired and not wanting anything fancy chose this place, the food was...unexpectedly really good and would highly recommend to anyone wanting a good curry in the Liverpool area.More
I visited with two family members but as I don’t know a lot about this type of cuisine I asked Niz the proprietor for advice and he took the time to ask me about my favourite types of food.
He then tailored the meal for...me using his instinct and then did the same for my two companions and we all agreed it was one of the best meals we’ve had.
I’ll definitely be back!!More
