Stumbled across this place yesterday and glad we did. Two of us ordered pancakes (mine with bacon maple syrup other Nutella and blueberries). Three huge American style pancakes with plenty of topping and were yummy. Kept me full most of the day. Not bad for under £7. Only small gripe was bacon needed to be streaky and crispier. My wife... I visited with a friend this morning for breakfast and really enjoyed my breakfast. I had eggs benny which was really nice, I'd ask for less hollandaise next time as there was quite a lot. The eggs came exactly how I'd asked for them which is always a plus for me as I'm very fussy! My friend had scrambled eggs... More

Came here today for lunch for myself and my husband and an easter treat for my two children. Their freakshakes are amazing and live up to the pics of them online. Both children had the oreo milkshake and loved them. Myself and husband had food from the lunch menu and was tasty as always. Coffee is fab as well. Nothing... More

Came here around 1pm on a Thursday afternoon and it was busy, all tables were taken however it didn't take long to be seated as we just had to wait for the waitress to clean up a table for us. The food was average abit bland but glad there was salt and pepper on the table that came in handy.... More

Went for breakfast with our daughter who recommended we try here, she is a supporter of independent food places, so are we. It is very trendy but it was a mixed bag of people eating here, all ages and some hipsters. We had breakfasts, English and a veggie, plus an eggs Royale. The food was delish , big portions. Daughter... More

Unfortunately this restaurant did not live up to our expectations. We ordered the quorn dog of the menu (being vegetarians) - which specifically said was meat free. What actually came was a corn dog, however, this was not the cause for my complaint. When I asked the waitress if she had brought the right thing out, she was badly tempered... More

Saw the good reviews on TA & thought we'd give it a go. Glad we did! Chilled out atmosphere, lovely staff, great food. I had the full english & my friend had the halloumi sandwich. Both were delicious! Would definitely recommend.

Barley and Beans is a bit out of the way in Liverpool city centre. It's about a 10 minute walk from Queens Square. We only went to try it because we had the Colu Liverpool Pound App. We arrived at 3pm on a Sunday and the place was packed. We sat at a table and a waitress asked if we... More
