Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We tried the A La Carte menu and knew it was going to be good once the miniature bread loaves came out with the chicken and truffle butter. We had the port tenderloin, rabbit and brill in chip shop curry sauce. All were excellent (brill...was the best) followed by beef fillet, rack of lamb and guinea fowl which were so tasty. Daisy was our server and she couldn’t do enough. I’ll be coming back here because apart from serving us excellent food and service. I have a smile on my face typing this out thinking how good it was. Highly recommended.More

Firstly the staff and ambiance were lovely. I had been recommended to eat here by by a friend who raved about it but we had a truly disappointing meal on a Sunday night. There was only a set menu, 4 choices for each course, and...this would have been fine if there was everything on the menu still. The mushroom starter my friend wanted was no longer available and the roast beef also finished. We both opted for a fish risotto starter which was pretty mediocre with bits of hard rice. The beef was replaced with lamb rump. Sadly my blunt knife would not even give me a mouthful so I asked for a sharper knife. At least it would cut, just, but the lump of fatty meat was tough and chewy. The yorkshire puddings we think had been cooked at lunchtime and warmed up so by 8pm they too were tough and black looking rather than fluffy and brown. Whilst the sticky toffee pudding was good the first two courses had ruined what should have been a delightful evening. We were visiting all the way from Kent for this experience!More

Great food and service but the acoustics in the restaurant are poor. At times we could barely hear each other across the table because of the level of background noise from other tables. (There was a large party in the room.) The background music was...basically inaudible except for a throbbing beat - it wasn’t gentle, ambient music. We were told that we could have asked for a quiet table when we booked but how would we have known in advance? We came for a celebratory, romantic evening, and really enjoyed the food, wine and great service, but the noise detracted somewhat from an otherwise very pleasant evening.More
