Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

This is a great old pib with a lot of history and inside is fantastic. The beer is good and the craftmanship inside is iconic. Always call in here if I am in Liverpool. Not to be missed but gets busy at weekends.

Pub and bar hopping around this part of the city my twin brother and I decided to drop into The Midland Pub ,been here before on many occasions, always had a good time and so it proved on our latest visit. I love the look...of this Victorian era pub, interior is superb, etched glass features ,a solid wood serving bar dominates the main room ,pubby decor and furnishings including plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and when the weather is good outside looking out onto the busy and bustling Ranelagh Street, its a wonderful pub to unwind in. We were here on a cold and rainy January night, pub was packed with a great atmosphere, we ordered beers from Carling Brewery, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just kicked back, chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub. Not my usual tipple, more a real ale and craft beer fan myself but this lager style beer was quite good, golden, light and hoppy and very tasty, very drinkable indeed. We both really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to The Midland Pub we had a great time. The Midland Pub is easy to locate along Ranelagh Street, a street and area teeming with pubs, bars and restaurants. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, open from midday. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.More

Terrible service. Wouldn’t serve as we had a party of more than 5. Instead of letting us know about this rule, proceeded to shout at us and tell us to “get out”. Will not go be going back again. Very bad customer service.

Pub and bar hopping around Ranelagh Street ,yes ,you can actually do a pub crawl along this street ,lots of great pubs and we dropped into The Midland Pub ,one of my favourite pubs along this street. A very traditional pub ,well established,a Victorian era...pub,interior is what I love, dark wood features, cool looking serving bar, pubby decor and furnishings and lots of seating options, cosy sums it up best. We were here on a freezing cold night, pub was warm as was the welcome from the bar team ,great start to our visit,it's amazing the effect of a visit to a pub when staff are genuinely pleased to see you in their pub,we ordered guinness ,these were poured correctly allowing the guinness to settle,we luckily managed to get a table were we soaked up the great vibe in this great city centre pub. My guinness was excellent ,love a thick, creamy guinness ,such a lovely ,refreshing brew ,it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality pint of Ireland's greatest export ,this was the first visit to here in 2022,it certainly won't be our last visit this year. The Midland Pub is easy to locate along Ranelagh Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday,11am till 11pm. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.More

The Midland is a traditional local pub that offer's a decent range of drinks and is one of the many pubs/bars and restaurants on Renelagh street. The Midland is housed in a superb building and was established in the late 1800's and is an excellent...Victorian era pub with many interesting fixtures and features and great decor throughout the pub interior and lot's of good seating options. We have visited the Midland many times as its a proper local Liverpool pub that offers a well priced range of drinks and is always busy.We visited here early in the afternoon and as usual it was fairly full in here and as we where on a bit of a pub crawl we had a few glasses of Guinness which were served in perfect condition and well priced. This is an excellent pub and easy to locate as it's over the street from Central train station. The Midland Pub is a pub I always enjoy visiting whenever I am in this part of town, its a great Victorian era pub that's just a joy to visit. The interior is superb, a neat and tidy pub, the main room is dominated by...a solid wood serving bar, nice decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, its just a wonderful and inviting pub. We were here on a Tuesday evening, we ordered a guinness, poured in the correct manner even allowing time for the all important settle, we just kicked back and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub. Guinness served in here was great, thick, creamy and most importantly iced cold, on a really hot evening a totally refreshing brew. We both really enjoyed our guinness in here, only stayed for the one each before we moved on and as on every other visit to The Midland Pub we had a great time. Now that some more of the coronavirus lockdown restrictions have been lifted for the hard hit hospitality sector with pubs and bars being allowed inside and outside service its great being out and about again visiting some of the great pubs our city is justifiably...famous for, one I always look forward to visiting is The Midland Pub. This is a classic Victorian pub,the interior is beautiful, light and airy, the main room is dominated by a solid wood serving bar, great decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, its a great pub to unwind in. My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Thursday morning, we were in fact the first customer of the day ,track and traced, we were allocated a table were we ordered a cider each as it was a hot day and we were parched, these arrived iced cold and sparkling, we just kicked back, chilled out and planned out the day ahead while sipping our cider's. Cider served here was spot on ,a sparkling, effervescent cider that certainly cut through the thirst, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality brew and to be honest socialising again albeit socially distanced. We really enjoyed our cider's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to The Midland Pub we had a great time. The Midland Pub is easy to locate along Ranelagh Street, a street and area teeming with pubs, bars and restaurants. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, 11am till 11pm. A wonderful pub, most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.More

The Midland on Renelagh street is without doubt one of the best pubs around this area of the city centre. The pub was built in the late 1800's and is a superb Victorian era pub with many interesting fixtures and features and superb seating options throughout...this excellent pub. We have been visiting the Midland for over thirty years as there is always a great atmosphere and the staff are friendly and they offer a good range of commercial beers and spirits. On entry we gave our track and trace details and took a seat in the main bar and ordered a couple of pints of Guinness which where perfectly served and well priced. The Midland is a fine pub with a well priced range of drinks and is well worth a visit as there is a very good atmosphere and the staff are superb and it is very easy to find from Central train station you walk cross the street.(This is my second review of the Midland). Opening Hours. Monday-Saturday-11.00-23.00. Sunday-11.00-22.00. Hours May Differ From Above Due To The Covid 19 Restrictions. Nearest Train Station. Central train station.More
