Called in for a quick snack and a drink whilst staying locally in a hotel. We had 2 croissants and a drink. Great food, highly recommended.

Good coffee, nice bakes, and what a place to sit. We had breakfast pastries on Tuesday, and when we were back in the city centre on Thursday, it was the obvious place for lunch, the breakfast pastries having been so good. There wasn’t much savoury,...but when I asked, was told what was just about ready, and had that. (Then went back in when I’d finished to drop my empties and to say how good my sandwich had been.)More

These croissants are seriously mind-blowing, especially the Dulce de Leche one! Plus, the coffee is awesome, and the staff is super friendly.
Thanks for your great review!
Attending a local conference, I wanted something a bit tastier than the standard hotel fayre, so headed to The Albert Dock to see what was available. I stumbled across 'Rough Handmade' and first impressions were very good indeed. Produce was laid out for self-service (with...tongs and disposable gloves) and there were lots of tasty offerings available. Staff were busy preparing food, bread and pastries in the open plan area and it was great to see the artisans at work. I chose a chocolate croissant and ordered an Americano with hot milk. Customer service was exemplary, and once served, I sat inside and took in the ambience, having views over the dock as well as some vibrant and tasteful music playing in the background. For a place I had not planned on visiting but stumbled upon instead, this was a very welcome find, and I am certain that next time I am in Liverpool, this is a place I will certainly seek out. Thank you for a great start to the day Rough Handmade.More
You have put a big smile on our faces, thank you.
Not sure if you’d call this place a hidden gem because it was quite busy but this is bakery heaven. I felt like I was abroad when I was here. Upon entering you are greeted by a large open kitchen seeing the bakers at work....In front of the kitchen they have a selection of freshly made sweet pastry’s and then around the corner nearer the till you have the savoury options. Despite them having limited stock when I visited, I quite liked it because it showed that everything was being made fresh and that once it’s ready it’s being served to customers. No stale food here, it’s a moving system. If they don’t have what your after just wait and you’ll soon be able to put your mouth around something scrumptious. We couldn’t believe how massive the croissants were. They were pure beasts!! We got a white chocolate and a milk chocolate one. I also got an almond plait and a spinach and feta pastry roll. I couldn’t resist and had to get the velvet hot chocolate as well. The croissants were very springy and tasty. The fillings were lovely. The milk chocolate was even nicer because they were just made so were beautifully warm. The spinach and feta pastry was also nice. The hot chocolate was wonderful. Maybe not for someone with not quite a sweet tooth as my wife couldn’t drink all of it. I bloody loved it! Finally the almond plait was fantastic. More on the less sweet side but excellent sugary crisp on the outside, buttery softness in the middle and very tasty almond flavour. Overall, I love this place and so does many others. The only slight negative I could find is that the staff could maybe be a little friendlier. They are obviously busy which is fair but happier staff makes it a significantly more welcoming atmosphere. I also found out that anything they don’t sell they give to charities. Amazing!More
Thanks for your review and for the time you took to write it. It is much appreciated.
This premises is a Bakery with tea and coffee and a few tables not a formal restaurant or cafe. No toilets, eating from a paper bag. However the croissants and pastries were superlative. The guide on the Hop On Hop Off City Tour made the...recommendation. Well worth the visit.More
Thanks for your review, we are also happy we were recommended and did not disappoint.
Quick shout out to the lovely staff who served us on a busy Sunday morning. We were unaware that you had to queue separately for cake/snacks and then queue again for coffee. We joined the coffee queue and proceeded to order two pastries, the member...of staff went out of her way to ask one of the ladies baking in the back if she could have 2 pastries for us to save us queueing again, the lady from the back obliged and brought the member of staff our pastries. Thank you for this as we were unaware of the queue system and could see how busy you were! but we really appreciated you accommodating us and with really lovely customer service too. Coffee and cake were amazing. Best pastries in Liverpool.More
Thanks for your very heartwarming review, we are happy you enjoyed visiting us and that we were able to please.
Once we found Rough Hand Made we kept going back. The buns and croissants are delicious and quite large. The savoury rolls are delicious and so are the quiches. The tea and coffee are good. The staff are lovely. It's hard to fault. The range...of products is relatively small. I think they go by "do a few things and do them well." The main problem is that things sell out. Last time we visited all the pastries were gone, except the almond plaits. Fortunately we loved the almond plaits.More
Thanks for your lovely review, you are very welcome!
The croissant has to be one of the best I’ve ever tried. I went for the white chocolate croissant and it was delicious, so buttery and crisp. I loved the open kitchen and the huge selection. If I had room a definitely would have liked...to try a few things. I got a coffee too which paired well with my pastry. I actually found this spot from Tiktok and I’m so glad I visited! 🥐More

What an amazing place. This is so worth a visit, pastries are huge and so tasty. Didn’t have a chance to savour the savoury items but they looked incredible too. Coffee was great too. Staff were friendly, service was quick and it was great value...for moneyMore
Thanks for your review, hope you can visit again soon.
Lovely place - beautiful looking pastries, savouries and huge croissants. Great coffee too. Don’t go too late though as I fear most things will be sold out.
Thanks for your lovely review.
Splendid if I must say ! The food from this place is outstandingly delicious, also the staff are delightful an absolute a joy to be around, the coffees too beautiful stuff!
One of the most beautiful reviews we have received. Thank you, the pleasure is ours.
WOW! What a great find! Perfect for a coffee and a pastry on the go! Excellent choice of food, and very friendly staff.
Thanks for your lovely review.
I visited Rough Hand Made solo in my few days spent in Liverpool for simply a Coffee and it was the best Coffee I had during my time in Liverpool. Really nice and well priced Latte. I also had a Mini Pizza too and that...was really tasty and good value for the money. I didn't get any of the sweet offerings but I did like how the sweet pastry/cake counter was presented and jam packed with offerings. Finally on a side note the Very Important Pooches wall made me smile and was a nice touch, Will return here when next in Liverpool without questionMore

First time in here after passing lots of times. Saw a lad sat outside with a variety of huge pastries in front of him so that was the decider for me. It was busy on Sunday but service was really quick and the staff were...pleasant. Decided on the Dulce de Leche and certainly wasn't disappointed. Absolutely gorgeous. Will definetly be trying some of the other delights at Rough Hand Made in the futureMore
