Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Food was amazingly good and great value for money too!! We would have paid a lot more for that at home which really surprised me as it’s London!! A very cosy and welcoming place , well worth a visit if your in the area.

We stumbled across this pub as we looked for somewhere to eat close to the Marriott Residence. It looked cosy from the outside and we checked they were serving food, which they were. We expected ‘standard ‘ pub grub - wow, how wrong we were....I had the mussels and the halibut, and both were outstanding. We live in st ives in Cornwall so we often have good fish, but these two dishes were aiming at the finest I have had for several years. My wife had the steak which was also very good. The owner was really friendly as were the kitchen staff ( they were happy when I stuck my head round the kitchen door to say thanks! So first impression was a bit deceiving - much better than we expected. I hope they rebuild they customer base after the punishing pandemicMore

Stumbled upon this place on a business trip and visited twice. Nice and warm with friendly and attentive staff, plus lovely food on an interesting menu. A real nice vibe about this place and preferred coming here than staying at the hotel bar and restaurant...around the corner. A lovely find.More

I stopped for a mid afternoon snack and also tried a few of their lovely real ales and was glad I did. It's a bit of an oasis of calm (after visiting a show at Olympia). Will defo return again

Has stopped by the The Cumberland previously while meandering around the Olympia area for a pint. Interested by the menu so returned a few weeks later for dinner. Menu items are not the usual pub fare, with some appealing southern European selections. Wife and I...both enjoyed the black bean soup as a starter (menued as spicy, just a hint of hear), and wife enjoyed her pumpkin ravioli, as did I with the Cinghiale (wild boar) Pappardelle. Portions are a reasonable size and of good quality, so if you are looking for a cheap large portion maybe not your place. Service also friendly. Will return in future with family or friends to try some other items. Also features a large outdoor space, and if you wander out the back you can stroll through a small park (Marcus Garvey Park) with interesting quotes and footprints embedded in paving bricks along the path.More

A well decorated and kept pub near Olympia. Diverse range of real ales and part of the casque mark real ale “community”. Outside area set back from the road and plenty of tables and space inside. Enjoyed a guest ale pint

Firstly, can I say that this is my local pub to both my home and my work place, therefore, I have let a lot of issues pass, however, no more. Today was the final straw. Rather than bore you with the finer details, I will...cut to the chase. Absolutely astounded at today’s reaction by a male staff member who was incredibly rude and dismissive to my friend and son and when I questioned him, I felt he was very disrespectful and defensive. I have worked in the hospitality industry for a number of years and am astonished at the appalling customer service. In addition, I know that there have been complaints about the toilets, sadly the ladies sanitary bins are usually overflowing and there were flies on the toilet seats and the smell from both toilets is absolutely revolting. I rarely reviews, so I am sure you will understand my complete displeasure.More

A fabulous pub with great food near Olympia in London. Friendly and very efficient service. I had the chicken which was delicious and my husbands fishcakes looked equally scrumptious. We would have loved to sit outside as it was a warm summers evening, but this...area is clearly designated for smokers, but if this doesn't bother you then it has lovely outdoor seating area next to a park.More

Cumberland A
Hi Adam, Thanks for your review. But of course I’m really sorry you didn’t have a great time when you had dinner with us. We remember your visit very well and it’s a shame we didn’t please you as much as the other 19 people in your group (some of whom felt the need to apologise on your behalf for your behaviour). I believe one of your colleagues has reviewed us below to comment on her good time at The Cumberland and even attached a photo. You’ve highlighted one of our members of staff as being condescending and other derogatory terms. I’m afraid I can’t reconcile your view with one of our longest serving members of staff who is recognised many times in person and in tripadvisor reviews as being particular charming and helpful. Clearly, your night didn’t work out for you but we’d be delighted if you would visit us again and we will ensure you are very well looked after. Kind regards, Mark (General Manager)
