Bright and light with a seasonal menu. Good selection of fish amongst meat. Excellent sweets and cheese board and a fine glass of port. Loved the Cornish meads too - a nice touch. Improvement? Just reconsider paper tablecloths over the decent linen.

Great atmosphere, stylish environment, attentive staff, relaxed, spacious surroundings. The food was a revelation. Nowhere in London have I had fresher fish, and the cocktails were imaginative, beautifully presented and delicious. The menu apparently changes every month with specials every week, with a huge range of options for five extremely picky eaters. We all loved the variety, standard of presentation,... More

I arrived late but the restaurant were so welcoming and understanding and showed us to a table with a nice view of the globe. I had a tastecard and benefited from 50% off food. Complimentary bread and canapés were given to us shortly after receiving our drinks. Main course was lemon sole and it was delicious: served with a generous... More

Service was good, as was the location apart from being told that we couldn't order a taxi to get back to our hotel? Wasn't happy with my Lamb dish as it was dry and had a stork of some herb left in the dish ., but the rest of the tables dishes were without complaint. Lovely bottle of wine added... More

Lovely views of London and a nice place to meet friends. The cocktails are fun and the food was okay but a little bland.

Enjoyed a lovely dinner here. It was expensive - everywhere is on 31st! It was a set menu but at least 5 choices for starters, mains and desert. Welcoming champagne served on arrival. Tables attractively set. Food was very good. Service was a bit slow especially with drinks orders. Beautiful view of Shard and Thames from our window table. Did... More

Northbank is located next to the Millenium Bridge with spectacular views of the Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and just a short walk from St Paul's Cathedral. Enjoy a Modern British menu with a West Country influence along with Cornish ales, ciders, cocktails and wines. Together with river views, a terrace and friendly service, it is a great lunch and dinner getaway.

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
