I come here pretty regularly because its local. Went to make the most of eat out to help out and had a great time. There was about a 15 minute wait for a table, but the staff were working so hard and turning tables around pretty efficently. They had run out of a lot of starters but that isnt a surprise considering how many people were coming through and ordering extra because of the 50% off. Service is always a little slow but thats fine, we sat outside people watching and were in no hurry! The pork neck skewers were a particular highlight.

Had a lovely Tuesday dinner for two here. The restaurant had a nice lively atmosphere (which is a good sign on a cold January early weeknight).
Great food and friendly, speedy service from our lovely waitress Laura.
Only downside is that it was a little noisy when full so if you’ve got loads of gossip then I recommend somewhere a tad quieter.

The set lunch menu was tasty, arrived soon after ordering and was reasonable value for money, but the service was pretty terrible! The restaurant was quiet with fewer than 20 covers and 2 waiters. One was a bored looking girl who looked annoyed that I’d turned up and shrugged me towards a table, and the other a gormless looking teenager with very poor English who didn’t seem to know what his job was. It was 20 minutes before anyone took my order, and my drink was first forgotten, then incorrect. I had to take cutlery from another table because there was none where they sat me. The lady beside me waited 40 minutes for her food before they realised they hadn’t actually put her order through. I couldn’t get an itemised receipt because the machine was broken. No apology at any point. Clapham Common is a very popular spot for eating with lots of restaurants vying for business. The Pepper Tree really needs to do better than this if they want to stay open!

This place it’s great if you want to eat a good authentic Thai food and receive a lovely and an attentive service. Me and my friends have been already a couple of times and never been disappointed. It’s very causal restaurant so don’t very about a dress code or making reservations. My favourite is Phad Thai, Red curry or satay chicken. I am planing on tasting their full menu in the near future!

Visited with my significant other on Saturday night.
Despite me being a bit of a pain - moving tables, asking for chopstick lessons, the staff were top class.
We were served by a combo of Laura, Yousef and Laurence. They were brilliant and not only because it's their job, but friendly people willing to take time and chat [and teach chop sticks]
Food was very decent as well!
Def returning soon!

The service was very quick and attentive. The tables and facilities were also very clean.
We came here on a Saturday afternoon and sat outside. We had the vegetarian dumplings dim sum starter, the massaman curry (vegan version) with rice side, and vegan drunken noodles - all delicious and flavourful. Good portions also. We liked the availability of vegan options and the waitress was very good at letting us know which dishes could be made vegan. We normally go for spicier food but the curry/noodles were not spicy, so would recommend those for anyone looking for mild options. They were delicious to our spice-adjusted taste buds nonetheless! Will definitely be coming back.

We visited the Pepper Tree Clapham for a friend’s birthday. From the minute we entered this cute restaurant we could not fault a thing. The owner was amazing with us she took care of us, the service we received completely changed our dining experience- just perfect! To add to this the owner and her team brought out of their wonderful cakes they make in house which tasted incredible to my friend and myself to share to celebrate her birthday – they even made sure I had vegan ice cream knowing I was a vegan their attention to detail was just fab.
The food was amazing, I will certainly be returning to the restaurant, so will my friend. The owner was delightful, she chatted with us, but was mindful to allow us space to chat. The restaurant was so cute inside – everything about this cute little eatery was absolutely perfect. They made us so welcome from start to finish.

I find it hard to believe this restaurant is allowed to serve food this bad for prices this extortionate. Warmed up tasteless dry chicken floating with watery aubergines in some excuse for a curry sauce. Soggy inane rice £4. I fear this was cooked by 12 year olds. Never again.

Visited with my sister and ordered a chicken main. Waited at least twenty mins after my starter to receive the dish and the chicken was uncooked, but what was more insulting is the chicken looked raw at first glance. I’ve never received such raw chicken in a restaurant before and I struggle to understand how this made it out of the kitchen. Sent the food back and waited 15 mins for it to be returned only to find it was raw again. Waitress was lovely and it obviously wasn’t her fault but there was zero accountability. I was told the chicken is pre marinated and this cooks it but chicken doesn’t work like that. I left the place really hungry and without eating a main dish. The dish was removed from the final bill and a ten percent discount was applied as an apology however a higher service charge was also applied. All round disappointing experience and would not recommend.

We are regulars here. My partner is peruvian but is an avid cook who loves asian food with 10 years experience living in China with regular visits to Thailand (and other parts of Asia).
We love this place. She says its the best pad thai she's ever had. It's completely unpretensious, very good value, and we've tried lots of different dishes. She much prefers it to the posher thai places in town, soho etc. I love the special fried rice, its simply perfect thai comfort food, perfectly balanced.
For some reason the service does lack enthusiasm, we dont quite understand why and we can totally live with it for the food. It's prompt and efficient, but a slight sense that the customers are a risk to the business or to be viewed with a slight level of suspicion that needs to be overcome, and often cannot. I dont mark them down for this because the overall experience is so clearly five star. xx

As soon as we arrived we had a warm welcome. Carina was very helpful and answered all our questions without hesitation.
I felt fortunate that they had a Vegan menu and a good selection.
Carina was incredibly attentive and the atmosphere in the place was warm and friendly.
I would definitely return.

Came on a Sunday night and had a really nice meal - chicken satay to start and then the duck massaman curry. Both delicious, the service was great (thanks Laura) and lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back.

It's lovely and usually lively place at Clapham Common. The food is great and always fresh with great service and very good price for a quality food.Curry and noodles are great there.I am there every week as I love it. I would definitely recommend.For me is the best thai in London.

We had last visited Pepper Tree at least five years ago. Although it had recently introduced a new menu it encompassed the usual run of soups, curries and stir-fries. Seating is on Wagamama-style wooden benches. The background music was unpleasant. The food was nothing special. Pork ribs were a little over spiced as well as being chewy. A duck massaman curry with peanuts and large slices of carrot reminded me how much better duck is with pineapples and lychees.

Great food and atmosphere, very friendly service. We had the dim sum sharer, squid and fish cakes, and a fish curry and duck massoman, all of which was really tasty, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. And reasonably priced too! Will definitely come back!
