About
Off the beaten track, on the south side of Leytonstone High Road, not far from Stratford & the Olympic Park, in a location easily reachable from Leyton, Forest Gate and Wansted, you can find Mora, a cosy, relaxed and welcoming restaurant serving hearty Italian food. We specialise in fresh pasta, handmade in small quantities in our kitchen: we make tagliatelle, pappardelle & tagliolini every day, ravioli, gnocchi & tortelloni as part of our weekly specials. Using seasonal and carefully selected ingredients sourced from small, artisan producers our chef Carlo created a menu offering mouth-watering traditional Italian dishes like tagliolini cacio e pepe, melanzane alla parmigiana and tiramisu, typical Sardinian specialities like fregola with prawns & bottarga and seadas, as well as some original creations like our delicious pannacotta with mirto liqueur. When in season, a truffle special menu is also available, featuring beef carpaccio, risotto, tagliolini and ribeye, all seasoned with generous shavings of truffle. Get your taste buds ready for your foodie experience at Mora with an aperitif - spritz and negroni are on the menu! Choose one from our natural, organic, biodynamic wines from Italy or local craft beers to match with your food, and Buon Appetito! You can end your meal in style with a glass of dessert wine, classic Italian liqueur like mirto, limoncello or amaro, or artisan spirit crafted in East London. Welcome to our independent restaurant in Leytonstone -E11!

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We shared a starter, cheese course, and dessert, and had a main, a glass of wine and a coffee each, and the bill came to just £68! Such a bargain because this really is a very special restaurant, with lots of care and attention applied to creating an interesting menu packed with fresh ingredients and flavours. I've lived in Italy and eaten a lot of Italian food, and this is the real deal! The service was perfectly paced and friendly. We left feeling perfectly and comfortably satisfied and content, Five Stars!
You can also just drop in for a coffee, which is hands down the best in the area, and good value too.

We has dinner at this Italian restaurant in Leytonstone last night(sunday) .The chef makes most of their own pasta and one can see him expertlypreparing the food . The waitresses were enthusiastic and charming. Our favourites were Baked speck basket filled with caciotta cheese and pistachios, papardelle with ox cheek ragu and Seadas for dolce. All much enjoyed

We think this is the best Italian in London!
Their staple menu is fantastic and the chef always delights us with the marvels on their specials menu. When you dine here, you always feel like the chef has created something very special, with intention and with a passion for beautiful food.
The staff are always joyful and attentive ☺️.

An unassuming restaurant a short walk from Leytonstone Underground Station with a couple of tables outside and a cosy arrangement inside. The menu offers traditional Sardinian dishes a la carte and off the menu specials including a truffle tasting menu. All dishes are well presented and the portions are generous. Make sure to leave room for seadas, the traditional Sardinian dessert or their mirto panna cotta, a Sardinian twist on the much loved Italian classic. Reasonably prices dishes and there is also the opportunity to buy pasta, sauces and a small selection of Italian products to take home and try one of the recipes.

This has become our ‘go to’ restaurant for a relaxed lunch. The food is distinctive, authentic and well prepared. It’s certainly not your average Italian restaurant. Although it was quite busy at lunchtime when we went, we had a lovely relaxed lunch. Every dish was worth waiting for and the the chef knows how to cook great food. A special mention for the cheese which was much better than in lots of restaurants we’ve eaten in.

Came here for dinner with a friend. Tables were well spaced out for social distancing and it felt relaxed despite being seemingly fully booked.
Food is authentically and good quality Italian. I had the squid with chickpea puree as a starter, which was good. The Sardinian pasta with sausage was also good. The white chocolate cremoso for dessert was very delicious.
Lovely to have as a neighbourhood Italian.

Freshly cooked Italian food by Italian chefs who can cook genuine authentic Italian dishes. This is not a pseudo Italian restaurant selling by popular demand the likes of spaghetti bolognaise .
Unfortunately it’s not the best area for a restaurant.I visited lunchtime and had one vagrant enter to beg for money from a mother a baby who was dining alone. I stepped in and ordered him out. Fortunately he left without playing up.
It’s only a small restaurant. So book . Go and enjoy. Decent Italian wines too.

We discovered this restaurant during the pandemic - they were closed for a long time, but managed to open as a deli with some takeaway meals. Once we were able to return for a proper sit-down meal, we didn't hesitate. We've since been back multiple times.
Having tried many of the dishes, it's hard to pick a favourite. They are all full of flavour.
The burrata pugliese is a wonderful way to start the meal, and the various pasta dishes are lovely. I have no hesitation recommending this wonderful restaurant.

Great food and charming staff, we had a really enjoyable
evening, For some reason we had not tried this restaurant
before but glad we finally did.
As well as the normal menu
there were also very interesting specials.
We had fish stew from the menu and a risotto from the specials
and would order them again!
Reasonably priced for the standard of food and
good atmosphere.
We are really looking forward to a return visit.

Food: excellent, imaginative and nicely presented but don’t expect trat-standard portion sizes.
Wine list: well thought out with good and affordable options by the glass.
Staff: lovely. Efficient and friendly.
Ambience: far from luxurious but full of chatter and laughter on a midweek evening.
This is a great local restaurant that is building a strong reputation and deserves to succeed.

We were blown away with the food at this restaurant. It’s doesn’t look anything special from the outside, but this is an authentic place with amazing food and flavours. Service was excellent and brilliant wine list. Very highly recommended.

Beautiful homemade pasta perfectly cooked. We had lovely octopus carpaccio to start, two perfect pasta mains, and a beautiful tiramisu to share for dessert. Our waitress was lovely, the bill was incredibly reasonable. I love this restaurant.

A year away form Leytonstone and so pleased to find Mora has survived the depredations of covid-19. As ever, lovely service, and fresh, inventive Italian food, with particularly lovely pasta. Very reasonably priced, too. Always a choice of excellent specials. My favourite Italian restaurant - go eat there and support them.

Lovely restaurant in an area that needs more of them. The service is charming and the food very fresh and authentic. We also really enjoyed the Italian wine. All in all, a real find, so different from the usual chains or tired pasta/pizza offerings.

Came here for lunch with my wife. We had a lovely starter to share. She had veal for the main course and I had a pasta dish. Food was tasty and fresh. Also lovely coffee at the end. I will definitely come back here.
