I have tried cupcakes from various places but i love hummingbird ones the best. For some the sugar frosting is just too sweet and overpowering but i really like it. Maybe thats why it goes down well with a massive cup of coffee! Red velvet signature is my favourite but also like the chocolate bottomed one. Regards Omar

The Hummingbird Bakery is massively overrated. There is nothing special about their cakes. The red velvet cupcake was nice but I could have paid half the price somewhere else and it would have tasted the same.

Their cupcakes were calling our name as we walked by. Cute Christmas decorations. Good coffee. I took a picture of their window, so cute!

I walked here from Borough on a whim and it was totally worth it. There were approximately fifteen different varieties of cupcakes! I chose a "Festive Christmas Red Velvet Cupcake" and the cashier even let me pick which one I got (I chose the one with Santa's legs sticking out)! Really nice service and delicious cupcake! I took it away... More

Lovely cakes and cupcakes, was really hard to choose between them. Very few seating options inside - guess this place is mostly catering take-aways

Just a small distance from South Kensington Station, Hummingbird Bakery is a small shop with a few tables. Perfect for coffee, cake, and small chat with friends. We love their cupcakes - red velvet, black bottom, Biscoff, and salt caramel to name a few. Very tasty and moist! Cupcakes can be also ordered by the dozen.

After numerous times and most of my friends and relatives tried it they all agree that Hummingbird has the best Red Velvet cake. So I am recommending this bakery 1000% if you are a Red Velvet passionate!

Conveniently located across the station- usually packed but is spatially compensated with the small patio outside. Diverse range of cupcakes, whoopies and cakes to go or packed for any occasion. Had the well acclaimed red velvet & salted caramel cupcakes- less moist, one dimensional flavour & too sweet for my palate- personally expected more. Service was efficient & friendly. Price... More

Picked up some carrot cake cup-cakes on the first day of a weekend break in London - ended up doing the same each day we were there! These were the best cakes we have ever had, brought some back with us too!

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
