We went to Smoke & Salt this evening, which is very local to us. The menu is fairly small (10 items total + a dessert) but everything we had was fabulous. We had all three starters, which included sourdough bread with delicious creamy butter, some...More

This restaurant in Pop Brixton is highly recommended for its excellent and original food. There are some unusual combinations (e.g brussel sprouts, thyme and fish sauce) and the flavours work brilliantly. We had the festive set menu which was excellent value at £30 for a...More

My wife and I visited Smoke and Salt for the first time on Wednesday for their Halloween menu. Alex was a fantastic Maitre d', Remi worked wonders in the TINY kitchen and Tom knocked up some heavenly (or should that be hellishly) good cocktails. We...More

Ok, it’s in a (stylish) converted container in the middle of Brixton, but the food is amazing. I’ve eaten in many top class swanky restaurants but this is up there, with stunning flavours and amazing value. We had the 7 course seasonal menu, with barbecued...More

Smoke & Salt is a restaurant that celebrates the ethos of “modern dining, ancient techniques”. We are based in a 40ft shipping container within Pop Brixton, however the food is certainly out of the box. Our cuisine is an awesome reflection, representation and re-imagination of the modern dining scene in London, bridging cultures and traditions. With food flavours that are influenced by global eating, we refuse to call ourselves fusion, instead, honing the magic of ancient techniques such as smoking, curing and preserving. Smoke & Salt is run by co-chefs Aaron Webster (Dinner by Heston and The Latymer at Pennyhill Park) & Remi Williams (Craigie on Main and Deuxave) who initially met at The Shed, Notting Hill. Originally a monthly supper-club started in 2014, the pair want to create a relaxed and affordable dining space which is accessible to all.
