We love this place but sadly don't get to visit as often as we would like. Small but perfectly formed, the food is always authentic and delicious. We get treated like family and the next generation, in Alessio, is just as charming and welcoming as his father, uncle and grandfather. They even rearranged the furniture to fit us all in!!!... It's great to support independent restaurants and my last visit to Cosmoba was really good. Sadly, last night was a disappointment. The garlic bread starter was so so and the carbonara was mostly pasta. Our booking was lost so we were almost turned away. Would think twice about going back.

Superb food and friendly, attentive staff. I had the best calf's liver I've ever eaten, and my wife said her meat ravioli was the best she had ever eaten. Outstanding bruschetta, very authentic. Our only niggle was that the calamari could have been a little crisper, but it was very tender and tasty. Good wine selection, nice desserts. All-around excellent.... More

We visited this little Italian last night. Tucked down a side street, this is exactly the sort of place you hope to stumble upon when in London. Nothing pretentious, just genuine, honest food and great service. The prices are unbelievably reasonable too. This will be a regular haunt from now on. Loved it!

This is a lovely intimate little restaurant tucked around the back of Queens Sq Bloomsbury, lovely staff, fantastic food and great atmosphere, staff were very attentive and welcoming, as with all restaurants you expect it not to be as good as your regular restaurant, but we were bowled over by the food. So tasty and well presented just enough time... More

As a regular customer, I have never had a disappointing meal. The food is always good, and the service outstanding. Some people seem to write criticisms for the sake of it, and some of them display complete ignorance, as in the review from John K (who can't even spell "average"!) He states that his sardines were served in gravy -... More

The 4.5 Trip Adviser rating led us to this place, but we were disappointed. We were a family group of six. Our table was tucked away at the back of the restaurant, with little wriggle room. The food was either average or poor - certainly not top end Italian we had expected, and certainly not, in our view, worth a... More

This must be one of the most underrated places in London. The cuisine is Italian, and you can eat a bowl of pasta, have a coffee, and get out for under £15. Alternatively you can go the whole hog with three courses and pay about £40. Which ever you decide, the cooking will be extremely good, tasty, home-cooked food. The... More

Lovely restaurant. Great menu. Genuine, personal friendly service. Perfect for solos, couples or groups. Asked for a recommendation for dinner. I was a bit surprised when the answer was carbonara but glad I tried it. Lovely, silky sauce, perfectly cooked pasta and a generous portion of delicious salty, smokey, fatty little pancetta lardons. Not a mushroom in sight. Delicious glass... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
