My boyfriend and I have always enjoyed going to Waxy's in the evening. However, on Saturday 14th Jan 2017 a rude member of staff suddenly came to our table and demanded I give him the chair I was sat on! So I would have to stand and have my drink. I proceeded to ask why on earth I cannot finish... More

Hello, Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear that the staff were not as courteous as I know they can be and I will discuss this with the team to help avoid a repeat. It is necessary to remove some furniture as we go into the evening. This is to ensure people can move around freely and to... More

I went to this bar 8 years ago and loved it. The atmosphere was class and the staff engaging and helpful. I went today, the atmosphere was dying and the bar man could barely be bothered to crack a smile. Thankfully I was in good company so all was ok. Toilets were clean-ish, drinks were fine but expensive. £20 for... More

I've been to Waxy O'connor's in January during my holiday. The pub is very beautiful, but my girlfriend and I decided not to eat after we saw the prices on the menu; it was a bit too high in our opinion considering the kind of food. We had a couple of beers then we decided to leave.

Hello, Thank you for your review. It's a shame you decided not to eat with us. All our food is homemade, top quality and the best value for money in the area. Maybe next time? Kind regards, Sean More

Love it here, such a quirky pub. Good bar service. Bit annoying that they don't take card payment at all the bars and ladies toilets need a bit of a deep clean and regular love. Otherwise would have given 5, is a unique place!

It was a dull, rainy Friday in London..... we walked into waxy O'Connor's and forgot the dull day outside. The place is a real gem, great decor, atmosphere and so friendly. I could have stayed there all night. Would love to return on a night they are playing live Irish music.

Popped in for a quick drink before the theatre. Great place, lovely decor, wide range of beers and drinks. We went down into the Church Bar, tree's, spires and a confessional, just a fun place to be. The only downside was the service, it wasn't busy, but 10 mins to get a drink, the only staff member was slow, but... More

Waxy's has a great mix of good music and quiet corners where you can sit and have a good chat. There's always a great atmosphere and the decor is so welcoming.

Recommended this pub by a friend who lives nearby, and we weren't disappointed. Massive range of drinks to choose from, and the interior design of the place is fascinating. Will definitely return.

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
