We both had an excellent Sunday roast. The meats were nice (the chicken was our favourite), the roast potatoes were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, the vegetables were good quality and cooked to perfection. The staff were all really friendly and...More

I booked the beautiful upstairs room of this pub for an office Christmas dinner. Despite a colossal booking error on the pub's part, the owner and staff made it right on the rescheduled night. The food was top-notch, and served in ample quantity. The service...More

As I say nice back street pub, good for a quick couple of pints, food acceptable, hearing rumours that it may be closing down, which is a shame as these traditional old back street pubs are what makes London great, rather than the trendy ones.

Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site
of an ancient meat market which remains in operation
today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally
renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and
some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a
focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough
time wondering through the area's maze of streets and
you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky
