We came to Tarshish for my husbands birthday and all I can say is we left very happy. The food was absolutely amazing. For the starters we went for the pachanga, cacik and crispy battered lamb. The pachanga was so tasty and filled with flavours as well as the lamb. Mains we went for seabass and lamb Beyti. Both were very tasty. The service was even more brilliant due to our amazing waiter Adnan. He was very accommodating to all our needs and made our time at Tarshish even more enjoyable. The food was a bit pricey but if you want to go out for a treat you should definitely check Tarshish out. We will be definitely be returning with all our family.

Me and my boyfriend spent valentine day at Tarshish,First of all the atmosphere was great we were promptly sat after making a reservation and had a beautiful view of the live band that were playing. The food was brilliant although it may seem like a small portion it is extremely filling I would definitely recommend the chilli shrimps as starters and the mixed shish kebab with the rice for the main. The mixed shish came with a refreshing salad and was the perfect option if you wanted a bit of chicken and a bit of lamb. The dessert was good not great due to it being a hard chocolate biscuit with chocolate mousse with a raspberry heart.Overall this was an amazing valentine day although the set menu dessert options were limited, the live band made up for this.

Excellent evening out for my birthday yesterday with my husband and 3 year old - would have preferred the music ever so slightly more condusive to conversation else superb all round. Service, food and atmosphere as well as free parking made for a memorable birthday treat with the added bonus of being halal. Hubby had lamb chops with rice & a nice side salad, I had the bbq ribs with a chicken & cheese fillet and my son enjoyed the grilled chicken wings with chunky tasty chips too. Only wished they served the slushy alcohol free cocktails too.

This venue isn’t too far from Turnpike Tube Station which is great news!!!! However this venue (unless I missed it) does not cater, for those with weak knees, difficulty with stairs or a wheelchair user. There are no lifts ....... The decor is rather dark but cosy; Lightening is a bit low (pending) your seating, therefore it was quite difficult at times to read the menu due too low lightening. The glazed prawns with spinach was lovely. I had a mixed grill of chicken & lamb. Lamb was not succulent it was tough. I had to send my main course back. Rice was grainy and hard in parts. Didn’t eat it ...... Head Waiter was over zealous, as soon as we finished our meal(s) he was “quick” to take our empty plates and linen napkins - and we had not even finished eating/drinking. For a table of 6 with some deserts, drinks/beverages & service charge the bill came to over £230:00 - we wasn’t impressed with the service, so we this omitted from the bill. It was great “catching up” with friends. But it’s “unlikely” we will be catching up in “Tarshish”

I had decided to go to this restaurant with friends due to the popularity of it on instagram. I had ordered a main course of chicken and a side of mac and cheese, both of which was very small in portion and extremely overpriced. It is extremely hyped up on social media - nice views but when you wait your food to eat you will be disappointed to find its nothing special. For the amount you're charging, a heavier portion would make sense. However, one thing I can say is that the waiters are extremely attentive.

If there was an option, I would bloody rate this restaurant zero (sifir). Service zero. Food disgraceful. A stupid wall that says ‘Tarshish’ with sequins around it where people take photos in front of. The photography came out bad because below the ceiling they put show lights on and not even good ones. They didn’t allow balloons inside because it would ruin their ceilings, but their ceilings looked ugly to begin with. Their plates were dusty and I told them to change it and then they were being sassy about it, replying it’s black and that’s why it’s dusty (they did clean it but no need adding excuses). When we first sat down, the first thing the waiter says is “there’s a strand of hair on your bag” like who told you to point crap out when your plates are dirty. They had a time limit and they were being so pushy as to when we will order our food and desserts like they were in a hurry to make money. Who would want to go in a dodgy restaurant where they don’t show any respect towards their customers.

Firstly I just want to start by saying I do not know why on earth this place got so much positive reviews! I came here with a group of girlfriends as we had heard good things about the food, ambience etc but boy, it most definitely did not live up to the hype. The interior is ok although quite a lot of steps to walk up to get to the main dining area. Also it was very dark and not well lit, the same goes for the ladies toilets. Now for the food and drink - I ordered a pina colada which is the worst one I have ever tasted. I definitely could not taste any rum so it resembled a milky watered down shake, very disappointing. The waiter assured me there was alcohol in it but I seriously doubt there was, and it was £10 which was way overpriced. I had the chicken tacos for starters which were okish and the lamb shank which I had been looking forward to all day. It came with mushroom risotto in a tomatoey sauce, the flavour was very bland and not that tasty. As I write this review my belly is aching! My friends had various other mains, no one was blown away by the food and the side dishes are highly overpriced, £6 for chips! It’s a good job we came on the ‘eat out to help out’ night as the bill would’ve been sky high for tasteless food. To top it off they tried to stick us with a £30 service charge to which we in no terms told them to take it off. Overall, I wouldn’t return here. The other Turkish restaurants are miles better and offer a better service and food. Very disappointed with Tarshish.

Ruined my partners 25th birthday. Whilst I appreciate that this restaurant was busy, there is no excuse for such an experience. We were told when we booked there were only tables downstairs available, but that there is not really a difference between sitting upstairs or downstairs besides the music and live entertainment. This was fine for us as we wanted to celebrate my partners birthday in an intimate setting. When I arrived I asked for a tea, but I was told that if you are sat downstairs you cannot oder a hot drink… red flag number one. Tea is a turkish delicacy, so tea should be available regardless of where you are sat. It was also on the menu, why not put this in the fine print or tell me prior to booking. I lost my voice on this day, so hot drinks were all I could drink - we probably wouldn’t have booked here if we had known prior. Anyways, after 30 minutes of speaking to different members of staff (one who tried to argue with me) and then the manager, he allowed his staff to bring down one pot of peppermint tea. This should not have been made a big deal, you hold the pot by the handle and bring it down the stairs. Going around the table and asking family members if they were enjoying their food, everyone had looks of disappointment. In that moment we all agreed we would not be back. I had a mixed grill and the chicken and lamb were on opposite ends of the spectrum - the chicken was very dry and the lamb was not cooked, it was raw (bleeding) in the middle - I had to send it back to be cooked more and then it came back burnt. The rice was oddly sweet. My partner ordered lamb ribs which he said were very fatty and tasteless. The best part of my experience was the mac and cheese I had as a starter, that was delicious. Now, on to the dessert. I was asked in advance if I want to add on the celebration cake which I agreed to. On the night, we requested the cake when my partner went to go and move his car as his parking was running out. This took him five minutes. We were then sat waiting for them to bring the cake for thirty five minutes… in that time, everyone else’s parking ran out so we had to cancel the cake and leave. And of course my partner knew about it by then. Cancelling the cake caused another issue because as we were explaining the situation to the server, the same server who tried to argue with me about the tea came to argue that he was going to bring it before but was waiting for my partner to come back… he had been back for thirty minutes at that point. Overall a really disappointing experience, we bought a last minute cake from tesco and he blew out the candles to his 25th birthday at home in the kitchen. Will never return.

I honestly don’t even know where to begin, they gave us the worst table ever, the table was too small for the amount of food we ordered. We accidentally spilled a Diet Coke on our table and the waiter literally looked like he wanted to hit us. The girl who was serving the drinks was even worst, I had never seen anybody with that much attitude in my life. After a while they moved us from the wet table and sat he on another table. They then waited and waited until we had to ask for them to bring our drinks over at which point in any restaurant which is a 5* (APPARENTLY) they would have offered a free drink when somebody orders over £150 worth of food between two people but not o my did they not offer. They took away our other drink that was half full. Then the food came and the mushroom croquettes were cold as ice and the steak felt like it was made by boiled water in a kettle and to top of us they brought us SOUP SPOONS for a little dessert and when we asked if we could have small spoons the waiter literally said “no sorry that’s all we have” so we had to explain what a tea spoon was to him (which we had one in our sauce holder by the way). Anyways to sum it up. Stay away. The decor is nice but food is terrible. Staff are rude and hostile and the service was appalling to say the least. This is from somebody who goes to fancy restaurants every Saturday night. This was the worst experience of my life.

Went here for my cousin’s 21 birthday with a group of 10. Firstly, some of the guests were 15 mins late. The guests that arrived on time were not allowed inside the restaurant to wait at the table until the others arrived which meant they had to wait outside for 15 mins in the night after the storm at 10pm. I’ve never experienced this. Once inside you have to walk up 4 flights of hard slippery stairs (there’s no lift) to get to the restaurant. So, if you are physically disabled or have trouble walking upstairs don’t bother going. We ordered over priced drinks, the food was brought out really quickly and dropped on the table with no care. The staff seemed in a rush to get all the (pre prepared) courses out. The staff seemed friendly but looked fed up. Now for the food, it was well below average and overpriced. The chicken wings had no bone in them were very small and tasted bland. The chicken kebab again was bland and cut into thick chunks of meat. The rice very luke warm and had no taste. My honest opinion is that if you want a restaurant that is nicely decorated with good lighting and an area to take pics for Instagram, then this is your place. If you like decent/nice food that you don’t mind paying for then this is most definitely not the place for you. Although I am not disabled, anywhere that has a total disregard for disabled people leaves a bad impression. I’m sorry I went there and won’t ever be going back.

Dissapointed my expectations were high about this resturant. The food was not all that it was basic and very overpriced. But what made me upset the most was the fact that we was rushed to eat due to another booking after us and i booked the table its sad that my food was literally taken and i didnt get to finish it. Felt pressured to eat quickly as every time the waiters would literaly take all the food starters etc and then felt pressured to order on behalf of my friends who were running late or they wouldnt be served any food. Dont recommend if its a occasion cause its a headache. It was just confusing one staff would say something then the other would say something else. The staff were helpful though and the atmosphere was nice. The food was basic nothing that was woooooow.

Travelled down on Friday for my friends 40th surprsie dunner and thoroughly enjoyed myself all thanks to Mohammed. The organiser of our group told the restaurant an incorrect amount of guests that would be attending and Mohammed went above and beyond to ensure that everyone was still able to order individual meals rather than having to have the set menu. In all honesty, I would probably rate the food 3/5 but due to Mohammed lovely customer service skills, my experience was definitely a 5/5.

Tarshish is a restaurant situated in the heart of Woodgreen - North London As you step your foot into the restaurant, you are welcomed by friendly staff and given a tour of the restaurant and taken to your seat. The menu offers a wide variety of delicious and mouth-watering starters followed by the main course, specially designed for youngsters and adults. I had crispy battered lamb for starters and the mix grill for main course. This was really thrilling and delicious. Excellent quality food. All the cuisines was fresh and refreshing. The restaurant also offers various types of drinks and they serve great cocktails. The service was very high quality. The staff were very efficient. One member of staff really stood out for me - I think his name was Adnan. Because of the brilliant atmosphere and delicious food service,I highly recommend going to Tarshish restaurant.

Overall experience was 10/10 and I would go so far as saying they provided the best service I have ever had! The Manager and all the hosts were attentive and accomodating, and really make this restaurant what it is! The food was fanastic and the truffle mac and cheese is a must along with the sea bass. My three friends and I had a combination of starters and mains, which we asked to all come out at the same time, which the hosts were very kind to do. We also got cocktails and one dessert, which were also very extravagant and tasty. The ambience is top-notch and the decor is beautiful and perfect for nice pictures. There is also a retractable rooftop which would be great in the daytime, although we went in the evening. I’m from Yorkshire (the North) and have been to many restaurants, and never usually leave reviews, however this definitely deserves to be my first review. I will definitely be returning when I’m back in London, and can’t recommend this restaurant any more!
