Food and ambience

Bar, British, Gastropub, Vegetarian Friendly, Gluten Free Options
The Prince of Wales located in the Upper Richmond Road in Putney Putney’s true local – a traditional pub with dining room and terrace, an established meeting place for local residents and businesses alike, always with the warmest of welcomes. Standout freshly made seasonal food, made from scratch, everyday. The Prince is an established gastro pub, very much part of the Putney community, equally welcoming for drinkers & diners alike. The Prince is as serious about its ales, craft beers & wines as it is about its food, with a regularly changing menu of delicious seasonal dishes; the Prince has a phenomenal reputation – a cut above the rest of Putney’s local gastro pubs and indeed restaurants.

Booked a table for lunch with a friend this week although there was plenty of space when we arrived so could pick a spot to sit at. A friendly welcome and COVID precautions were clear (hand sanitiser at the door, distancing measures by the bar,...More

Service is great, location good shame about the food Had possibly the worst Sunday roast of my life Beef seemed to be that pre sliced flavourless stuff you can buy in the supermarket and the potatoes could get you arrested for carrying an offensive weapon...More

Lovely staff, food was good, menu very limited but suspect that is due to current Covid situation and need to keep things simple. Loved sitting in the leather wingback chairs! Got a cracking deal on the food with govt's EOTHO scheme.

A very nice establishment. Having walked into the cosy front bar, we were surprised how roomy it was beyond that. But even so, a nice intimate and friendly atmosphere, especially on a cold January afternoon. It helps that dogs are welcome – always a good...More
