Popped into the Coat and Badge for a pre Theatre meal and was very pleasantly surprised with the quality and cost. All too often in a major tourist area Pubs and Restaurants feel they don't have to try too hard but the food was very well presented, hot when it arrived, always a bonus, and reasonably priced. We will definitely... More

I have given this a 3/5 because our waiter was vwry nice. The pub is pleasant with outdoor space. The food is average. I had bubble and squeek. It was gloopy. We will go back for drinks only.

At 1030 midweek this place was full of really drunk people and absolutely stank of stale beer. Disgusting!! Couldn't wait to get out.

We went to the first floor dining room. Polish waitress greeted us, took our order. Friends had fish and chips - fish good chips inferior. I had fillet of salmon with mashed potatoes and green vegetables. The salmon was over cooked, just about edible, green vegetables were soggy. On asking who the chef was, the waitress said he was foreign... More

Food pretty good although a little expensive but then it was probably the location that pushed the prices up. Service good

Stopped here after work recently, a group of 4. Enjoyed the dining experience with the view and watching the world pass by. I had the cod and chips which was delicious. Overall the price paid for the food was reasonable, given the quality of food and service we received.

Doggett's Coat & Badge is another in the Nicholson's portfolio. This was our second visit, but first during the Summer Gin Festival. Buy 8 gins & you get up to 25% off total food and drinks bill. We paid £77.50 for four main courses, 2 beers, a bottle of fizzy water and 8 G & Ts. Excellent ambience, sat outside... More

Well kept beer at a reasonable price for the area. Very friendly staff. Imagine its constantly busy. The dexor is well maintained. Shame there was no satelite tv or music when I visited. Not sure if this is always the case. The location is prime however so they possibly don't need the running costs to stay busy

After walking along Blackfriars Bridge and The Southbank, I decided I needed some liquid sustenance ..... Although Doggetts are having a Gin Festival presently, which is ideal for this time of year, I stayed with draught beer and chose a pint of London Pale Ale which is an old favourite of mine. Great views of the River Thames and the... More

Staying in Southbank

Neighbourhood Profile
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
