I enjoyed my meal here, mainly because I found a great bottle of wine on their extensive and impressive wine list. The food itself was good but perhaps a touch disappointing given the prices. The Italian cheese in particular, which we expected to be superb,...was a bit underwhelming. It is still one the more authentic Italian restaurants in central London, but doesn’t really compare with the real thing.More

Try as I might, I really wanted to enjoy an evening of great food in a very nice ambiance of a restaurant. It succeeded on one of the points. The restaurant is well appointed and classy. The staff are all well groomed and professional, and...would not look out of place in a top Milan eatery. All good so far.... now we come to the food, given the prices I wanted exceptional & memorable, I got bland. The dishes looked pretty, but really were nothing to write home about, the scallops were 'al dente' and salty, the ossobucco, was ok, and for the first time ever, I had a tiramsu which did not have any marsala or brandy in it !. My wife was happy with her Veal Milanese though, but we are talking basic Italian cookery skills here, that you would get in any local trattoria. Sorry but I wouldn't recommend it.More

The food is really bland, which is so disappointing considering the price. We got the scallops + beetroot salad to start. Beetroot salad was fine (although very uncreative, not much cheese and and way to much soggy rocket) the scallops were cooked well but the...whole dish had basically no flavour. Mains were chicken and turbot - both unbelievably average with no real flavour except salt (for turbot, the chicken was under seasoned) and both came to our table lukewarm - which is pretty disappointing considering it’s not cheap. Not sure if we had a different chef, because can’t understand the comments raving about the food?? Service was really good though.More

Not easy to find a truly outstanding restaurant in London. The Margot is a great surprise offering extremely high quality ingredients served in truly italian cuisine style. Not cheap but the price is right for what you get. Best Tiramisú ever!!

My husband chose this restaurant for our first date night in many years in London. And the choice was perfect. The restaurant was in easy walking distance of the underground, around 400 yards, the ambiance was perfect, service friendly, welcoming and impeccable and the food...amazing. Portions are just the right size. Highly highly recommended and Pré booking a must.More

Staff attentive without being obsequious, they removed the wine , which is a pet hate, then appeared at exacly the moment when you needed a top up. Really fine Italian dining. This is as good as you can get in Milan, maybe better. Very clever...seating that leaves you in a table for two feeling as if you have enough space for 6. We absolutely loved it and i am usually very grumpy indeed. Although Tripadvisor is bonkers if they think you can get a meal for £20-£30...ours cost the two of us nearly £300 but it was worth every penny .More

We didn't have too high expectations coming to Margot for fear of being disappointed but wow did Margot deliver!! Their food is EXCELLENT (get the veal and thank me later), their service is genuinely friendly and accommodating (places like Margot in London tend to have...standoffish staff but not here!), and the restaurant is elegant and beautiful. Will definitely go here again and take people with me. 10/10 would recommend!More

If you are a fun of italian or european food, this is a place to go to. The food is delicious and the service is good. on occasion they become forgetful and forget what you have asked for , but in general good service. Would...recommend cauliflower soup, absolutely lovely. Any fish is good as well. Tried their code and halibut and boht very very tasty. Was not impressed by panacota though.More

Impeccable service, amazing food, perfect cocktails, delicious wine in a really lovely and ambient setting. Two people dining, two courses, 3 cocktails and 2 glasses of wine came to £200 (incl. service fee). Worth every penny. Fantastic!
