Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Destined to become a legendary London music venue if it isn't already. Bang smack in central London. Feels like a local. A really great place to mingle if you want to indulge your adventurous side. They play vinyl albums - all the way through. Imagine...that. And you can even request one from their massive selection. Imagine that.More

What an absolute blinder of a pub. Cannot fault it and cannot find anything like it. Crisp beer, fine food, incredible music, very friendly and charismatic staff and the bar manager Tommy has got it down to a T. With the vinyl collection yo the...memorabilia on the walls, only fools and horses playing in the pub and a top pint of Guinness. Would recommend anyone to goMore

Food, service and prices very good, however please please clean your little toilet halfway up the stairs. Back of the door filthy, dryer not working and paper dispenser off the wall just left on the ledge!

We went here for lunch after visiting the National Gallery. We made reservations and were glad that we did. We were here on a Sunday and took advantage of their Sunday Roast. It was delicious and came with all the great trimmings, including Yorkshire Pudding...and roasted veggies. Some of us also had the Pimm's Lemonade which was really refreshing on a warm October day.More

Delicious‼️ I don’t like fried fish but we were in London so we try it and it was delicious. Not greasy at all. The perfect place to eat fish and chips and off course a good English beer.

What a find! Lunch with friends .Fabulous olde worlde pub literally 2 mins from Trafalgar Square. Arrived very early for our reservation but not a problem. Upstairs dining room with loads of charcter & fabulously friendly staff. A rare find in London. The food was top...notch & very reasonable for central London. We had the fish & chips @ £14 & the Steak pie £16. The best fish & chips we'd had in a very long time. We weren't rushed off the table either. Highly reccomended but not suitable for people who struggle with stairs. As you'd would expect from a very old building steep & narrow. Definately will return & booking is a must.More

We ordered the 'posh fish finger bun', supposedly containing cod. I was shocked when I was presented with a toasted bun (like at McDonald's) with some fish fingers which looked and tasted like they were from Iceland. The fingers were reconstituted white fish ewhich was...actually grey...if you could find any inside the hideous batter. They tasted like pepper and even my 8yo couldn't eat them. The mash served with the sausage and mash was reheated, had a funny texture with a shiny skin on top and tasted only of onions. All in all a poor lunch time stop, would not recommend unless you like cheap reheated food.More
