About
We are a small but very busy restaurant, based in the Carnaby Street restaurant area of Ganton Street accessible by either Oxford Circus or Piccadilly Circus tubes. We can cater for both large and small group and are the perfect location for celebrations or romantic dinners. Our restaurant layout represents a traditional English Pie & Mash shop interior, with wooden booths and marble top tables. The combination of our restaurant design and menu will leave you feeling as English as the Bow Bells. If you are a group of more than 4 people we recommend that you call the restaurant ahead to ensure that we can reserve our large table for you.Additionally, see our listing for our Mother Mash City branch

Absolutely outstanding! The choice, the service, the quality of the food. Absolutely perfect for a warm, cozy meal in a cold London. My family and I had the best time and are looking forward to returning soon.

My Son, Wife and I ate here tonight, queued for app 20 mins which was no problem for us as had nowhere else to be. Food was fantastic, I had the special pork and apple sausage with classic mash and the farmers gravy, I am...very fussy about mash and will only eat my own but there’s was lovely along with the rest of the meal. The staff were also lovely. If you like good wholesome food and excellent staff then this is the place for you.More

Great sticky toffee pudding with our waiter Amadin! We stumbled upon MotherMash when looking for a place for sticky toffee pudding. We came at 8pm on a Sunday night and were nicely told to check back in 30 minutes since we didn’t have a reservation....When we came back, we were seated quickly! We had a sticky toffee pudding and red wine. The servers - including Amadin - were INCREDIBLY kind and the sticky toffee pudding was absolutely delicious. I only wish we hadn’t already eaten dinner somewhere else because the menu looked amazing, the smells were amazing, and the look of the food was amazing! We will absolutely eat dinner there next time AND we’ll make a reservation.More

Excellent English style food just off Carnaby Street - delicious and highly recommended. We both had the steak and ale pie , corcanon mash and farmers gravy with caramelised onions and bacon bits . Absolutely full of flavour and delicious- just right for an autumnal...lunch in the west end. Accompanied by a delightfully refreshing fruit cider. If pies don’t float your boat they have a range of sausages also and a few salads . Go on - go for it - not expensive and a great experience!!More

Loved this little place. The food was perfect hearty food after a long day walking round London. What really made it was the staff, they were so friendly, happy and helpful. We went on my birthday and they gave us a free sticky toffee pudding...with a candle in it and also sang happy birthday. Lovely place and would go back again.More

We were looking for a quick meal before the theatre and had pretty much resigned ourselves to a burger when we saw this little place in a side street. It was heaving but the server managed to find us a table for two at the...back. The concept is great - you choose from a selection of mash, then choose a pie or sausages then select a gravy to top it off. I chose bubble & squeak, Cumberland sausages and onion gravy while my husband had cheesy mustard mash, London smoky sausages and onion gravy. All were delicious and piping hot. The pies coming out of the kitchen looked good as did the traditional British puddings on the menu. The restaurant itself was done out in traditional white tiles with green trim as befits a pie and mash shop. In fact the only thing that wasn't very British were the servers - most seemed to be French - but they seemed to be enjoying their jobs despite being under great pressure. The guy who served us was lovely even if he did forget my husband's beer! The only reason that I haven't given it 5* is that the tables at the back are so close together that the server's bum was hanging over our table as he tried to serve the table wedged in the corner.More

Pies were delish and as promised - we ordered 4 different kinds. Only challenge was seats were very uncomfortable and tight for average sized people.

Only one choice for gluten free main however the pork and chilli sausage was packed full of flavour. Can't remember which mash I had but I guess that speaks volumes about the taste of it. Was very underwhelmed especially as a place specialising in mash....Green beans wrapped in bacon were amazing!More

Such a brilliant concept, simple too. Food is piping hot, tasty and served with great professionalism. If you fancy something just a little different, among the normal burger and pizza venues, this is worth a try.

My husband and I dined at Mother Mash earlier this evening, and we were extremely happy with our experience. I had the cheesy mustard mash, with a minced beef pie, and onion gravy, and it was really good. My husband had the classic mash, minced...beef pie, and the traditional gravy, which he absolutely loved. We also tried the butternut squash and sweet potato pie, and while we didn’t love the spices used, it wasn’t bad - it just wasn’t for us. The sticky toffee pudding was ok, but the pies and mash are really what you should be focusing on here! Service was friendly, and prices were reasonable. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in London.More

What a great find. In a street full of restaurants, here is this little place that serves excellent pies and mash at extremely reasonable prices! We booked same day for a party of five, and we didn't eat much all day so we were starving....We were greeted warmly by Amadin (hope I am spelling it right) and he is the coolest, most fun guy. He told us what to order and we all had something different, plus sides of mushy peas and cauliflower cheese. Everything was so tasty - we inhaled it all, plus two bottles of wine (they do not have very much wine, but we tried both their reds and they went with the food perfectly. This will be a go-to for me in the future, when I want some good comfort food and find myself in Soho. Thanks to Amadin for a memorable early dinner - we will never forget you!More

Hi, sorry for the delay. I would say booking a table is recommended, it's not that big a place but it's very popular. I hope you get to go there... :)
