Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

🍺 £6.30 Moretti
Just a short walk from Bank Tube you will find the @cockandwoolpack . This pub is tucked away down a quiet narrow side street just off Cornhill. I arrived at midday on a Monday lunchtime and it was pretty quiet as there was just me and two other lady’s in attendance. I was served by a welcoming chap behind the bar, I ordered a Moretti which was a nice pint and just over six quid. For the more cultured drinker, there were three cask ales available. This is a cosy little boozer that has a pleasant feel to it. The decor here is traditional, there is a wooden floor which is complimented by wood wall panelling, lots of mirrors to make the place feel bigger and a tartan carpet to complete the look.
.
This @shepherdneame pub has a lovely calm feel to it and is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of City life.

Revisited an old haunt of mine from 50 years ago, it has had a makeover from my old drinking days there but in many ways remains the same. Busy with lots of people drinking outside and a decent pint of beer. We didn’t eat there. Overall a decent pub and brought back good memories but there are more interesting pubs in the area.

Nothing wrong with this pub, but nothing outstanding.
Traditional rather old fashioned city pub serving a variety of Shepherd Neame beers that are well kept.
Gets very busy at peak times with people spilling over in the street outside. I went mid afternoon early in the week to escape the rain and it was much quieter.didnt have time for lunch so can't comment on the food.
This pub is very close to the Bank if England and Royal Exchange.

We went in about 5.30pm last Monday before going for a meal. It was very quiet for a city pub. Shepherd Neame owned so I had a couple of pints of Spitfire which were ok. Clean and tidy apart from the scruffy barman with his jeans hanging down. I won't be rushing back especially with some good pubs nearby.

Located in a small lane behind the Bank of England, this pub has a small frontage and inside goes back a long way. Owned by Shepherd Neame it offers a number of their Kentish real ales. The whole front and bar area is standing only with a few high tables and bar stools, further back there are more traditional tables but due to the small size the pub can get very full very quick, especially after work where is is very popular with office workers and others who know of its existence - it’s not a pub you’d go to unless you knew it was there.
The interior is mainly modern wood panelling so not particularly old but it’s a good little pub for a drink off the beaten track.

City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
