Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I came with my wife and friends for dinner. We all had burgers with fries, soft drinks and coffee. We all thought that the burgers and fries were excellent. The side order of creamed spinach was particularly delicious..Service was great. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit...today.More

Value for money HELL NO. Will never go back. Menu are sticky yuk. Ordered a veggie breakfast and when it came portion size was for kids, come on you are charging £14 for what exactly a few beans in a tiny cup, a portabella mushroom...that has not even grown to adulthood as it was so small, a quarter slice of bread not even buttered properly, 2 small eggs and 2 potato rosti bite size. I know people are supposed to be watching what they eat but the way you are carrying on people are left starving with a BIG hole in their pocket and this was breakfast for heaven sakes. You seriously need to understand what you are offering and at what price as you certainly will not be around for much longer the way you carrying on like if you are a MICHELIN Star restaurant. You have no concept of how the world has/is changing and what is expected to run a good business and how to keep customers coming back for more....... A good old cafe would have done the job 100% better with a full hearted plate of food and cost effective on the pocket. Places like these make me mad.More

Visited this cafe for breakfast today. The food was fine but it is hugely expensive. Our bill was almost £70 for 4 breakfasts and 4 drinks! Sadly, our daughters toast arrived with no butter and so was too dry to eat. We asked for some...butter, only to find we had be charged an extra 50p for this when we received the bill. Really poor value for money so would not return.More

Good neighbourhood cafe which does a great breakfast. Decent coffee too. In good weather, there is a nice outside area as well.

We brought friends here for a treat. We all had burgers with a mix of skin on and sweet potato fries. The burgers were delicious, the meat was very tasty and they were nicely cooked - not dry and overcooked but slightly pink inside. I...had the burger with Monterey Jack cheese. The fries were lovely, very similar to what I cook at home and not at all greasy. The staff are pleasant too.More

Came in for breakfast with my newborn daughter. Was greeted with a friendly smile from the waitress (Ola) who was very accomodating, allowing me to move a table along to fit the pram in. There were several groups waiting to come in as the doors...opened at 9! Always a good sign! Lots of tables were reserved so I recommend booking in advance. Ordered a hot chocolate and grillville breakfast (full english). Service was quick and the food arrived hot and very well presented. You can tell they use high quality ingredients and the chef knows what They're doing! The sausages were particularly good. I am hesitant to order hot chocolate as it can be just sweet water but here it is clearly made using milk and was delicious! The atmosphere was lovely too. Friendly, vibrant and relaxed. A mix of friends meeting to catch up and families enjoying 'post dance class' coffees through to the local OAPs in to read the paper! I'll definitely be coming back! Maybe to try the evening menu next time! Well done GrillvilleMore

I sat at an empty table with my two young girls. I went to place an order. After ordering I took a seat and then a waitress told me I needed to move as the table was reserved. There was no reserved sign on the...table and it turns out the couple who had booked a table had booked outside and it started raining. They basically kicked me and my daughters off the table and there were no other places to sit as it was busy. Literally unbelievable and they showed no remorse. I won’t be visiting again.More

We enjoyed our dinner sitting outside. We had three different meals and we all enjoyed our meals. I had the spicy chicken salad with a large glass of wine. Good value for money and good service. Quite busy as it was a Friday evening. A...good option for eating out in the area. Look forward to visiting again in the future.More

First time here. Chose the aged sirloin and it was superb. Apparently they are from the Hook and Cleaver butcher also on Pitshanger Lane. Had steaks in Vegas, Houston, Sydney and a host of other places, but none as flavoursome as this. Chips were ok....Salad needed a bit of something other than lettuce.More

I haven't been in for food for a long time as I rarely eat out in Pitshanger Lane but I do come in regularly for takeaway coffee which is always really nice and the best locally. The staff are always friendly and happy too.

This restaurant used to go above and beyond catering for clients with gluten intolerance and coeliac disease. Unfortunately, there now appears to be nothing on the menu that can be guaranteed gluten free (the effects have been experienced) which means these customers will have to...go elsewhere.More

I had heard extremely good things about this place from my cousin. She frequents there often and has done during Covid times too (in like with guidelines). I’m going to keep it short and sweet, the run down of my visit: •Walked in, nobody acknowledged...me, both saw me, walked passed me three times. Felt like an idiot standing there •Then finally asked me “what I wanted” I said table for one. Sat down and immediately turned her back to me. •Then took forever to come back to me to ask for my choice. Despite a lady just walking in and joined her friends got her order and drink in like a minute. Then I saw how the older lady instantly walking out to greet their guests. •Literally a couple was served in 5 minutes from seating, to ordering to receiving drinks •Ordered American Waffles: Food was okay, nothing special at all. The Diner (which used to be in Carnaby street is much better) •The worst was yet to come. I had already decided not to pay service charge if this was applied. However asked for the bill, came over with receipt and card machine. She had already entered the full amount with service charge included into the card machine! The absolute cheeky. This was the final straw for me. I paid it and left. Never, ever again! One of the worst first experiences.More

We went for an impromptu post-Covid reunion with my husband's family - 12 people including an elderly couple and three kids - and they fitted us in at 12 hours' notice. The two waitresses serving did a fantastic job although they were clearly busy, and...they were patient and friendly with the older people who needed a little more time to order. Everyone had a good evening. The sea bass was delicious and the wine was good. We'll definitely be back.More

We pop in for a coffee on a regular basis - the coffee is excellent - but on this occasion we decided to have food and settled for eggs royale served on sourdough toast. It was delicious, in particular the Hollandaise sauce was creamy and...not too vinegary. One of the best eggs royale I have tasted.More

Another really enjoyable meal here. I had the Grillville burger, this was excellent, really tasty and plenty of it. My wife had a lovely sirloin steak, the fries here are delicious, plenty of them and nice and hot. I like the way they are served...separately. Nice to see Peroni on draught and the bottle of Pinot Grigio was served well chilled and with ice in the cooler. We cannot fault the food and service here, lovely ambience too. Well done Grillville, best food in the lane!More
