We ate at the restaurant on Friday 25 November and ordered the tasting menu. Nothing we were served was remotely interesting or worth an exclamation of delight. We had been to Munich at a 2 star restaurant the week before, and that was so much more impressive in every way - and certainly our experiences at other 3 star restaurants... More

We have been here several times before. Not one bit of this review is taking it away from the absolute quality of staff and their training, they are an exceptional group of people who make the restaurant. Wine selections wonderful and while we didn't go for the tasting selection as we don't particularly like red, the Sommelier suggested some lovely... More

I believe a very important part of my journeys is to enjoy the flavors of important chefs. I have been to Le Manoir, Joel robuchon etc... and I was very exited to celebrate my birthday wit a dinner at Alain Ducasse. HUGE MISTAKE! I was disappointed by the food. The lobster was difficult to chew. Smoked celery... can't even describe... More

We booked up to go to Alain Ducasse for 5 us to celebrate a couple of recent birthdays and a couple upcoming and were very much looking forward to a magical evening. The service of the vast majority of the staff was impeccable - Dario in particular our waiter was fantastic and incredibly well informed and attentive. My wife had... More

Having to walk through a busy hotel reception/afternoon tea room isn't the welcome you want. Completely underwhelmed by the food and whilst the service was decent, I was left cold. The tasting menu got better but couldn't recover after a poor start. I didn't feel that the care and love had gone into the menu itself, or the execution. It... More

When visiting a five star hotel with an impeccable reputation coupled by a restaurant fronted by Alain Ducasse, expectations are high. Those expectations last Friday were exceeded by the excellent staff and service we received throughout the meal. All the staff were knowledgeable and attentive and their descriptions of specific dishes influenced our choices very positively. A fabulous evening and... More

Dorchester is a beautiful Hotel with lot of history and pedigree. The restaurant adds charm to it. Good value for fixed lunch. Price is fixed but you get same service and excellent food. Will visit again when in London

Over the years, we have had the pleasure to dine at several of Chef Alain Ducasse’s restaurants on several continents, but this was our first visit to Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester, and we were looking forward to the experience. Previously, with what we thought would be adequate lead time, we could not secure reservations. At that point, and with... More

Visited last night with my husband. What a special place! The dining room was outstanding. The music was beautiful. The atmosphere was formal but relaxing and welcoming at the same time. The food was divine and the wines matched the food perfectly. The staff made the night even more special. Very nice, attentive and knowledgeable. First class hospitality. All in... More

Been for lunch at this place and it was a very posh Mechelin star restaurant. The service was great and the ambience just fantastic. Good veg options as well with wine and champagne options to go with matching lunch options. Great experience!

Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
