Don’t let this restaurant’s unassuming exterior fool you — this place is a gem! We stumbled across Zheng rather by accident, but we’re very glad we did. The interior transports you to a palatial Malaysian paradise, which creates a fantastic atmosphere. The impeccable service from the kind, attentive waiters, makes you feel like royalty. The wasabi prawns were exceptional and plentiful: juicy and smothered in a creamy wasabi sauce. By recommendation, we ordered the Godmother Chilli Peppercorn, and it did not disappoint. The egg fried rice was the best I have ever eaten. I could have happily eaten several bowls on its own, such was the quality of the cookery. The Singapore noodles were fantastic too — aromatic and spicy in equal measure. The tapioca dessert topped off the meal. Bouncy tapioca morsels combined with brown sugar and milk, while appearing simple, was packed with flavour. Yes, it is an expensive choice, however, it was well worth it for a memorable, magical experience.

This was not a planned visit to Zheng as the place we wanted to go was full so went here instead as it was raining.
Looking at the menu, they serve Modern Malaysian and Chinese dishes at a finer level being in Chelsea and for that price tag.
I was not too keen on having Malaysian dishes that day so opted for Mapo tofu with rice and Admiral Zheng's wasabi prawns.
For drinks, we had Jasmine tea and Sirap Limau.
The Sirap Limau tasted like lipsticks and was very syrupy but I expected that hence my choice was Jasmine tea.
The Jasmine tea was actually ok but the first cup poured by the staff just tasted like water because the tea leaves had not steeped properly.
Moving on to the food, the Wasabi prawns delivered as they were delicious, although it was a simple dish, the prawns were big and bouncy with a crispy coating smothered in a sauce which tasted of wasabi with salad cream mixed in.
The Mapo tofu was to my liking because it was chicken and not pork with a Sichuan peppercorn kick that has that tingling sensation in your mouth.
However, the Roti seemed to be the frozen ones that you reheat.
But overall as a foodie, I am glad I tried.

The venue is lovely - stylish room in a converted Chelsea town house
The menu is beautifully presented and we could have happily ordered any of the dishes
The wine list is well balanced and reasonably priced
The service is impeccable and delivered with consideration and good humour
The food is just delicious and again reasonably priced. (If you are going to eat in one of the most expensive real estate locations on earth don’t expect it to be cheap. It still doesn’t cain it )
First of many forthcoming visits for us

Very good food but we got the impression the staff could not wait for us to leave “. We arrived at 1.30 and by the time we had ordered they were warning us some dishes were off, the kitchen was closing and last drinks with it. If you want a leisurely lunch with friends better arrive when they open at noon . This is 2023 the 24 hour society I don’t like it when they’re sponging down the tables before we’ve paid the bill

A nice and cosy place with some great food
Good points:
Extensive halal option
Most items were delicious
Ok portions
Friendly waiters
Some complementary Thai crackers
Free parking on some days
Nice toilets
The Wasabi prawns were amazing
Bad points:
Soft Drinks and juices are ridiculously expensive. Juices are not even freshly made
Duck was slightly dry and no crispy bits
Some of the wraps with the cake were torn
There was a rush by the waiters to order despite being not busy.
Nothing provided to the persons birthday

Very welcoming staff with great service but we came for the food and we weren't disappointed ! This had an excellent range of Chinese and Malaysian food - we ordered the satay and spring rolls - both were excellent. We then ordered the chilli beef and then the spicy chicken with fried rice - again these were excellent with sufficient spice and really subtle tastes. We spent a lot of time going 'ohh" and "aah" over the dishes. We had some excellent wine to go with this.
The restaurant was busy without feeling crowded and although the meal for 2 came in about £85 it was so worth it. Excellent

Disappointed by the quarter crispy duck pancakes I just ordered via Deliveroo for £17.50
The duck was very dry and seemed to be overcooked or reheated.
The pot of plum sauce was too small, only covered 4 out of the 6 pancakes. Why give so little sauce for £17.50?
Will not order from here again. This was my first order.

Visited on Fri night with 3 friends. We wanted an authentic Malaysian dinner and were not disappointed. The Beef Rendang was flavoursome and tasty, Chicken Sambal had that lovely, chilli shrimp taste and we also got great service.

2nd visit. Very attentive friendly staff although some did not wear masks . Food not as good as last visit. The battered squid in the mixed starter was tough & mainly batter & the Crispy chicken with cashew was small with very little chicken . Our precooked table was placed by a large Xmas party group nearby. It was difficult to hear each other & social distance was compromised when the boss moved around his employees. Appreciate difficult times for hospitality industry but sadly doubt I would recommend or visit Zheng again as standard's appear to have dropped.

I came here as a first experience towards this form of asian cuisine, not knowing what to expect. The full experience, starting from the service from our waiter Martin who was friendly and efficient, to the food which was authentic, full of flavour and mouth-watering, I most definitely feel like I indulged without regret. The dumplings were absolutely amazing, the crispy duck in pancakes were phenomenal and the mains were also very flavourful. I would definitely recommend this place for people to try.

Sydney St restaurant, so prices are fairly high. With those prices one expects a memorable meal, or dishes that one would say ‘stand out. Food is very mediocre, and whilst I think Malaysian cuisine is one of the world’s best, this pan Asian restaurant is very average.

Super ambiance and one standout feature was the thoughtfulness of the serving team around the sauces / dishes. With one vegetarian and one fish allergy it’s often a challenge. Not here - great recommendations and nice food. Ambiance threat. Read a review that mentioned high prices …don’t agree, all felt reasonable to us. Recommended.

Came here with my fiance and his sis for a meal. It was our second time there and we enjoyed every dish we had. I ordered the chicken satay, cereal prawns, black bean chicken, nasi goreng, sambal kangkung and fried chicken with mango sauce. I think we over ordered as we could not finish them and took away the remaining dishes and had them for dinner at night. Sambal kangkung and nasi goreng was a touch spicy for my fiance as he doesn't take much spice. I enjoyed the cereal prawns though i thought they were a little pricey. Overall we enjoyed the meal as most dishes were bursting with flavours and cost us approx £100 for 3 people. All dishes are Halal friendly too.

This wonderful Chinese restaurant almost at the Fulham Road end of Sydney Street is great quality and great value.
I was visiting some international, well-traveled friends, who also consider themselves to be great foodies and we decided to do a CoVid take out dinner from here.
The Singapore noodles and chili beef were perfectly spicy and not overpowering. The wonton soup was a delicate light broth with delicate noodles. Everything was excellent, portions great, price very reasonable, and if you pick up your takeout, they give a thank you discount! Definitely a regular go to spot.

Let me start by saying this unassuming looking restaurant is not cheap. At all. We booked here largely because of the reviews. Well, yes, it was a lot of money as it turns out and some items are definitely overpriced, hence my 4 stars. BUT the food was outstanding. We had dumplings, sesame prawn toast, soup, crispy mango chicken, fragrant rice, minced pork with green beans and the best rendang I have ever had anywhere on the planet. Would I go back? Slightly begrudgingly, yes, because of the excellent food. I just can't quite bring myself to pay those prices...argh...torn! Service was great; warm and attentive. A lovely experience.

Chelsea
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.
