Visited with my friend and the food was amazing. Absolutely excellent. We enjoyed every dish. The staff were so attentive and friendly. They even offered to take a Polaroid pic of us for us to keep, which was such a cute gesture. Would def recommend...and visit again.More
First time here and loved the food here. The service was really good. Loved the Aromatic duck. Food was on time and even brought my toddlers food quick. Loved the idea of taking polaroid pictures for us to take home.
This was one of the best meals we had in London. The food was delicious, excellent wine selection, lovely atmosphere and the owner was wonderful. We just wish we’d discovered it earlier so we could have gone more often during our stay!
This was not a planned visit to Zheng as the place we wanted to go was full so went here instead as it was raining. Looking at the menu, they serve Modern Malaysian and Chinese dishes at a finer level being in Chelsea and for...that price tag. I was not too keen on having Malaysian dishes that day so opted for Mapo tofu with rice and Admiral Zheng's wasabi prawns. For drinks, we had Jasmine tea and Sirap Limau. The Sirap Limau tasted like lipsticks and was very syrupy but I expected that hence my choice was Jasmine tea. The Jasmine tea was actually ok but the first cup poured by the staff just tasted like water because the tea leaves had not steeped properly. Moving on to the food, the Wasabi prawns delivered as they were delicious, although it was a simple dish, the prawns were big and bouncy with a crispy coating smothered in a sauce which tasted of wasabi with salad cream mixed in. The Mapo tofu was to my liking because it was chicken and not pork with a Sichuan peppercorn kick that has that tingling sensation in your mouth. However, the Roti seemed to be the frozen ones that you reheat. But overall as a foodie, I am glad I tried.More
Came down to Zheng to celebrate eid with my cousins ,was warmly greeted at the door by the staff they were accommodating and so sweet, our host Adam did a spectacular job to ensure we all had the best service possible he even took a...polaroid picture of us and chit chatted with us while we waited for our food, the food itself was delicious and so filling i honestly could go on all day about how much we adored this restaurant.Huge thank you to Adam and the rest of the staff we will definitely be coming back again and recommending to anyone we know !!More
A fine experience, very friendly staff, good food, but a little hard to eat as sharing platters, since the food is messy and sticky and after ten minutes our table looked like it had been hosting a five-year-olds birthday party. Some of the food was...very delicious, but the menu was bewildering - even for the staff, and it was hard to understand why a "starter" was supposed to be enough for two people as a main dish. The shredded crispy duck with pancakes was great. It is a very genuine place, the impression was that the staff and cooks are Malaysian. To our Northen European palates the starters and main dishes were very good (though maybe the dumplings were a little bland) , but they can not make desserts! Do not get the banana and ice cream! And they can't do European drinks like cognac (they actually asked if we wanted ice in our cognac!); they served the cognac in a whisky tumbler. Having said that, the staff - all of them - were incredibly nice. Late at night the inner room where we were seated felt a bit abandoned, as the staff started cleaning and clearing tables well before closing time.More
Very good food but we got the impression the staff could not wait for us to leave “. We arrived at 1.30 and by the time we had ordered they were warning us some dishes were off, the kitchen was closing and last drinks with...it. If you want a leisurely lunch with friends better arrive when they open at noon . This is 2023 the 24 hour society I don’t like it when they’re sponging down the tables before we’ve paid the billMore
Let me start by saying this unassuming looking restaurant is not cheap. At all. We booked here largely because of the reviews. Well, yes, it was a lot of money as it turns out and some items are definitely overpriced, hence my 4 stars. BUT...the food was outstanding. We had dumplings, sesame prawn toast, soup, crispy mango chicken, fragrant rice, minced pork with green beans and the best rendang I have ever had anywhere on the planet. Would I go back? Slightly begrudgingly, yes, because of the excellent food. I just can't quite bring myself to pay those prices...argh...torn! Service was great; warm and attentive. A lovely experience.More
Manager Martin is extremely hospitable and service was great. Food was incredible and served efficiently.
The Beef Rendang was far too timid and the texture was all wrong, more like an Irish stew. The chicken Sate was lovely though, as was the singapore fried noodles, even if the portion was only half the size it should have been. Friendly service...but I won't be going back.More
The venue is lovely - stylish room in a converted Chelsea town house The menu is beautifully presented and we could have happily ordered any of the dishes The wine list is well balanced and reasonably priced The service is impeccable and delivered with consideration...and good humour The food is just delicious and again reasonably priced. (If you are going to eat in one of the most expensive real estate locations on earth don’t expect it to be cheap. It still doesn’t cain it ) First of many forthcoming visits for usMore
Visited on Fri night with 3 friends. We wanted an authentic Malaysian dinner and were not disappointed. The Beef Rendang was flavoursome and tasty, Chicken Sambal had that lovely, chilli shrimp taste and we also got great service.
A nice and cosy place with some great food Good points: Extensive halal option Most items were delicious Ok portions Friendly waiters Some complementary Thai crackers Free parking on some days Nice toilets The Wasabi prawns were amazing Bad points: Soft Drinks and juices are...ridiculously expensive. Juices are not even freshly made Duck was slightly dry and no crispy bits Some of the wraps with the cake were torn There was a rush by the waiters to order despite being not busy. Nothing provided to the persons birthdayMore
Very welcoming staff with great service but we came for the food and we weren't disappointed ! This had an excellent range of Chinese and Malaysian food - we ordered the satay and spring rolls - both were excellent. We then ordered the chilli beef...and then the spicy chicken with fried rice - again these were excellent with sufficient spice and really subtle tastes. We spent a lot of time going 'ohh" and "aah" over the dishes. We had some excellent wine to go with this. The restaurant was busy without feeling crowded and although the meal for 2 came in about £85 it was so worth it. ExcellentMore
