We stumbled upon this bar after the Les Mis matinee on the Saturday of the August Bank Holiday weekend. The wide doorway from the street corner enticed us into the bright open bar area. We sat on stools by the window looking out through the...open window onto the busy junction with people bustling into Soho and Theatreland. We just loved the friendly vibe and service-orientated staff. Instead of just the quick G&T we’d popped in for (and they have a good, not vast, selection of gins), we found ourselves staying for a few rounds. Unlike us as we’re not big drinkers, but we liked it there. Cheers guys and good luck with making a success of the place.More
Spent a lovely couple of hours in this pub,on a Friday night.great atmosphere and very friendly staff.although it was busy we got good service.
We visited the day after Pride so it was nice and quiet. it was friendly and welcoming in a personal way that is rare in central London. We had a really interesting chat with manager Darren, who was ace and very skilfully handled a rather...awkward couple too. We enjoyed a bit of banter with some of the clientele too. We always loved this unusual, cosy bar when it was Molly Moggs. It went to pot under last ownership but new management is really on point - nice and clean again, friendly and fun. Bringing back some entertainment would make it even better and I'm sure a bit of drag would pack the place out, just like before. Good luck to all of you as you carry on developing the place. We visit London three or four times a year so we'll definitely be back! Tony and John (Brummies living in Harrogate)More
So, it’s under new ownership, again. So, despite being a somewhat regular of the establishment over the years it was with some trepidation that we decided in earnest, and hope of a revival, to visit. Sadly the bar was empty, however, it was early afternoon...so no dramas. We waited to be served by the bartender who was conspicuous by his absence, (who was actually outside smoking and talking on his mobile, despite seeing us waiting). He eventually came in and promptly said to whoever was on the phone “Hold on I’ve got to serve”. Nice!!! So we asked for him to run a tab, knowing that generally we spend in excess of £100, and the fact the banks generally block your card after multiple transactions in the same venue, we were told “we don’t do tabs” What?? The only west-end bar We’ve come across that doesn’t. “We don’t have the facility to do tabs” errr.... yeah, ok. So apart from the fact We’d have to go back and pay every time and have the added banks security pulava we really enjoyed the “warm” welcome as advertised. Not. Hopefully things will improve given time. We wait with baited breath.More
Went for a drink with a friend on a Wednesday lunchtime. Staff are extremely friendly and recommended us a lovely gin to try. They have loads to choose from! Will definitely going back again soon to try another one!
My friend and I just popped in for a beer or two on Saturday 11th May and were amazed by the warm, professional and friendly welcome we received. The bar staff treated every customer like they were a regular and skilfully dealt with enquiries about...the selection of ales. As a result we ended up staying all evening and what could have been a run of the mill night out proved to be a real treat. Thank you.More
Great friendly little pub in soho , awesome cocktails ( porn star martinis , and gin spritz ) Good friendly staff , highly recommend for a quick drink or two
We have spent a couple of evenings here when on a break in London. The atmosphere is lively and friendly, good value drinks and good beer selection. There has been a singer on both times and it was a great evening!
Disgraced at the service my friends and I received from the male bartender with long hair. Rude, arrogant, and racist towards me and my girlfriends. None of us are ever returning and we have all told our friends and family to do the same.
Really well presented cocktails. Great flavours and great service as well. Steve was amazing. I think that's his name, the Australian barman. Good knowledge of cocktails and very friendly.
Faultless mocktail! I asked for "something minty" (because there's no set mocktail menu), and the barman created a lemony, gingery, minty drink in a tall glass with a strawberry for garnish. Very nice, and very cheap (£3.50). Wonderful! Reviewing this place as average though because...from 8-10pm when we were there (Sat night), we could barely hear each other and had to shout above the club-like dance music coming from the DJ by the bar. It's the strangest thing because this is a tiny little place - barely enough room to squeeze around other patrons, and yet they're blasting out dance music. It was deafening, and frankly unnecessary. Would have been fine with a little background music, but not a jaw-juddering base. Conclusion: The drinks and bar-staff speak volumes that this DJ can never reach, despite how far he cranks the base up.More
Need a meeting place before going to the Come From Away and The Compton Cross was perfect location - in this not so fashionable part of theatre land. Happy Hour finished at 7, but just time for a couple of well-made cocktails. At £9 for...two - seemed like very good value.More
Great drinks and service however a small venue felt cramped . It’s a lovely looking place will probably go again
Without a doubt in anyone’s mind, the best part about this pub is the bartender Tobias Mint. Amazing.
