I will start by saying that I have frequented this place before and have experienced good service. The food I have eaten has been good but it is very sporadic and not always consistent so customers should be aware of that. However, my most recent...encounter (today) left me flabbergasted.
I attended the place with my elderly mother and sister. I asked the rude large set woman if tables were available outside; she failed to look at me and instructed me where I could sit. After looking at the menu, we decided on what we wanted (approx 2:10 pm). I decided to place my order. She was fully aware of my presence yet decided to do her chores and left us standing there for 10 mins. What happened to, ''one moment please, I will be with you in a moment? Just basic customer services that you would expect. When she finally decided to give us her attention, she was abrupt, with no smile. I have never encountered such rudeness. When I asked her about the menu, she told me the advertised meal deal ended at 2 pm. She walked off; I hate to use the terminology 'attitude' as an African Caribbean woman myself; however, this woman had a huge attitude. It was almost as if she felt I was doing her a favour coming to the premises. Staff like her should know that if you are rude to customers, they won't buy from you, and you will be swiftly out of a job, and your business expansions will fail.
Of course, I decided to not buy from this company, and neither did my guests as her abrupt tone, and miserable face spoke volumes about the energy that I would receive from eating her food! If you want to purchase meals from someone who is clearly miserable, unhappy with their job and frankly should not be working in a front-facing customer service role, then buy at your leisure. I wanted to support the company. However, I didn't. Instead, I went to another Caribbean restaurant locally and purchased a tasty vegetarian meal with excellent customer service and appreciation for my custom.
I have eaten the food here before, and it has gone down in standards. I think arrogance has slipped in, and we all know what happens to companies who don't put their customers first. They simply fall from a once high-esteemed level of grace.
Eat Eden, you lost three customers who were once YOUR customers, and another company had now taken them with open arms. Your a disgraceful company
