A nice little place for excellent coffee and breakfast. Great croissants and lovely baguetts with mozzarella, tomato, ham... Smooth smoothie and yoghurt with honey and berries. We had our breakfast and lunch here, good service and good prices. Nice atmosphere, small place- but we always got a table. A blend of being in both London and France!

Popped in on the way to the Royal Albert Hall. Nice layout (just as you would expect in Paris), friendly staff and the pastries were outstanding. I went for the mozzarella, avocado and tomato salad. The balsamic was thick and sweet. Great place. Lots of French people dining here and their baguettes look authentic. Highly recommended

We had couple of paninis and yogurt for a breakfast. Food was good. Fast and friendly service. Short walking distance from the museums.

Having visited the Science Museum, and had a walk around the imposing architecture around the area we needed somewhere off the beaten track for a much-needed lunch break. A sideways glance down Bute Street revealed a plethora of small cafes and restaurants, so we strolled down there, initially walking by Raison D'etre, looking for more of a "Greasy Spoon" (good... No complaints. Good welcome, nice bread, nice coffee, nice decor, good juice. Mediocre scrambled eggs with okay ham. Ideal if you're in the area but not worth a journey.

I had just finished a wonderful visit of the natural history museum and was getting very hungry, saw Raison D'etre was highly rated on trip advisor and thought I'd give it a try. I was not disappointed, great choice of sandwiches at very correct prices, fresh products and extremely friendly staff. Service was great. The owner Matthieu welcomed me in... More

I discovered this little gem in South Kensington, the staff is extremely friendly and goes out of their way to make their customers feel comfortable and at home. The food is as good as the service, it also looks as good as it tastes, this is a great place for breakfast, brunch and lunch. I highly recommend it.

Saw the excellent reviews but my experience didn't live up to it. We went for breakfast; the porridge was not especially good - nothing to really complain about but one could get something of equal if not standard at Pret. Coffee good. We had a business meeting there and had purchased teas and coffee throughout the morning intending to stay... More

This is the first time I'm ever writing a review on TripAdvisor, but the experience warrants it. An unassuming French café in South Kensington, until you start eating what's on the menu! Ended up eating breakfast/brunch here for 3 straight days, and ate practically half of everything in the menu during that time. Their breads/croissants are freshly baked, and are... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
