We read good reviews and headed to this place for lunch....very convenient after visiting the museums. The welcome and the atmosphere were great. The difficult choice between exciting fillings was the only tricky thing about our lunch. The staff were efficient and fun....do try this place.

This is a small French cafe style that's usually packed with student from the French school next door during lunch time. The sandwiches and simple and fresh and the staff are friendly.

We visited the first weekend in December and it lived up to expectations set on trip advisor. We had the tasting menu and matching wines and the food was excellent and there was nothing to find fault in. The service was very attentive and the staff worked very hard to keep all customers happy.

I saw the great reviews, so I decided to give it a try and it exceeded any expectations I could have had. One of the employees (seemed to be the owner) sat us down, introduced himself, and explained nearly every item on the menu. It seemed to be a spot for many French locals. Even though we were clearly the... More

I love a crunchy panini with melty cheese and fresh flavors. This place delivers. Funny enough, the lawyer turned cashier spontaneously informed us that he didn't understand what the hype was about in regards to their high TA ratings and to lower our expectations. No need. I wanted a satisfying sandwich for lunch and I got exactly that. It's a... More

After reading the other Trip Advisor comments, my wife and I decided to stop in for lunch. I think we were the only English speaking patrons, as the staff and most of the other guests were speaking French - a good sign. While we were expecting more of a bistro atmosphere, the sandwiches we had more than made up for... More

Quietly placed on Bute Street, Raison D'etre is a fantastic spot for great food and even better service. Matt, the owner, gets to know everyone who comes in his shop and truly makes you feel welcome. As a university student, this place is perfect because of the cheap pricing. Highly recommended! Also, best chocolate chip cookies in London.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
