We were highly impressed with the Se Garden and Grill, noting that their excellent reputation is entirely justified. They had a fantastic experience with the service provided by Alenia, who demonstrated a deep understanding of the menu and offered valuable wine recommendations. The crab cakes,...in particular, were generously filled with flavorful meat and expertly seasoned.More
Brilliant meal and really friendly staff Great atmosphere and the food came really quick The rum was amazing
Came here for dinner and had the lobster and steak special as it was a Tuesday (£34 per person). Steak was almost cold, and the lobster was also barely warm, which was a real shame. The chips were super hot though, and there was an...option of vinegar powder on top of them which was different and tasted just like malt vinegar. The guy cooking seemed attentive and on top of things, but the guy waiting was slow and quite disinterested. We also had a small can of beer which was £6.20 which was a shock as the menu didn't stipulate the size, and at that price we'd assumed it was going to be a larger can, and a spicy pineapple margarita mocktail (£6) which tasted really nice apart from the salt down the side of the glass (the menu had suggested this would be sugar, although salt makes sense for a margarita). Service charge was automatically added.More
This place is very very expensive for what you get. £15 for a cocktail is ridiculous in an indoor market. I wouldn't have been bothered about the cost if it was justified with great surroundings and great food. We had 5 or 6 dishes, the...ones that had batter on had really thick batter and it was a bit much. The bill came to £146 for 2 of us. That was 5 or 6 dishes plus 2 drinks each. The place didn't even have its own toilet you have to share a communal toilet with the rest of the indoor market! A place charging them kinda prices should have it own toilet!!More
This was my first visit and two of us enjoyed midweek dinner. We ordered far too much and ate every single morcel. It was all good - Cornish oysters, grilled prawns, tuna tartare, crab buns. If I had to pick a winner, then the battered...fish was light and full of flavour. Restaurant is in the midst of Broadway Market and service is casual. I'll be back.More
The Restaurant was recommended to us by our host. We liked the lively and leisurely atmosphere of the Food Market at night and enjoyed to watch people passing by. The service was very charming and took good care of us. The food philosophy was obscure...to us, though. We had already reserved the seafood platter for two along with the reservation. As we were three people we ordered it for three. It had been advertised as a main course. So we ordered three appetizers as well. And a couple of drinks. Strangely enough the platter arrived first. It turned out to be three shells each with some undefinable content, too small to be evaluated because after one bite our ‘main course ‘ was gone. Afterwards we were served the starters which consisted of some undefined fishy substance in a tempura batter, for which any fish and chips joint would have been ashamed and two hamburgers which contained some kind of fish patty also deep -fried in some batter, of which we had only ordered one. And, some overcooked mussels in some cream and bacon sauce. All in all it was a diet rich on fat and starch and poor on taste and quality.More
Had a fantastic time here, the dining and drinks menus are phenomenal! Best muscles I ever had! The cocktails were exquisite and the creator was a true professional
Excellent food (especially the fresh fish platter), friendly & personable service (see photo) & a little oasis in this trendy south London destination. Highly recommended.
Good quality food but very expensive and small quantities. Market-type eating which is to be expected so not quiet and difficult to talk which I would have wanted when spending that level of money.
Fabulous fish, sensational seafood, perfectly prepared buy talented people, innovative touches that make so much sense, why wouldn´t you put vinegar powder on chips rather than make them all soggy with liquid and why has no one offered it to me before!, lovely, friendly, helpful...and highly efficient service from brilliantly enthusiastic staff and a great informal atmosphere. My husband Andy and I enjoyed ourselves so much that we made a return booking as soon as we got home. I can´t wait to eat the tuna tartar, prawns and whitebait again, but am sure that whatever is on the menu that day it will be delicious and generously served.More
We went to the Brixton venue and had a fabulous evening. They were very busy but the food here is worth the wait. Oysters, mussels in a superb sauce with hot bread, WOW!!!! Will be returning soon
Great food and atmosphere. Super tasty - mussels, soft shell crab and chips were superb. Although not cheap! Defo would go back.
We (two couples) visited the Brixton Restaurant, it was a small restaurant serving food in sharing platters. Effectively tapas style. I am no vegetarian, however we only had vegetables and fish and the food was delicious, we shared 5 platters including the triple cooked chips...with powdered vinegar, has to be tried to be believed. Excellent service, with genuine interest in our enjoyment of each dish. We’ll be back.More
