Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I took my Mum and my partner here to celebrate my Mum's birthday. It was a really good choice. We came on a Sunday afternoon and so had the Sunday roast menu. The meat, roast potatoes and veg were all excellent. They had a good...drinks menu. The staff were friendly and Richard himself came out to ask us how the meal had been. My Mum had a really enjoyable birthday.More

Cracking meal when travelling with work. Friendly service, lovely main but the best part was the dessert. Possibly the nicest sticky toffee pudding I’ve ever had.

Off the beaten track, near to Tooting Bec tube, we would have walked passed if we hadn't booked a table. Doesn't look much from outside as quite basic but very clean inside and staff were lovely. All food seemed to be cooked to order. We...had mushrooms and trout as starters, both of which were great. Roast beef with all the trimmings for main. Only two small slices of beef, but what we had was lovely, gravy a little thin and potatoes weren't crispy, but all tasted great. Fantastic to see a traditional roast, with no mash potato!! We are glad we tried Richard's Kitchen and hopefully will go back soon.More

Great food (all freshly cooked) and a very friendly atmosphere. I went there with my wife for a wedding anniversary, and we both loved our meals.

The starters were fantastic and set the tone for the whole meal. We had scallops and the chicken terrine which were great and then a delicious roast. I have walked passed it multiple times and it is never empty and I will definitely be going...back again!More

Rustic, authentic, friendly, and delicious. I give this place 6 out of 5 stars. Would come back any day. Richard himself in the kitchen. Staff recognises you. Menu changes constantly based on availability of produce.

Extremely enjoyable fare, friendly and welcoming chefs and attendant. I had the melty hearty wild venison, creamy mash, crunchy broccoli spears, carrot, lip smackingly morrish red wine meat juice jus, refreshing fried celeriac shavings. Seductive flavours, a joy to eat. Followed by the opulence of...a wonderful millionaire shortbread that you'll have to try for yourself, no spoilers on how lovely it was. I took another one home,I know I'm naughty.More

Home made real and high very high quality food in a small, almost cafe style restaurant. We shared the warm bread and olives before we ate because we were all starving. I had a game terrine to start with venison loin and celeriac main and...chocolate roulade pudding. My son had a soup and his partner smoked trout for starter. All of it delicious and perfectly cooked. Small menu choice is nice and reflects the fact that the food is real and prepared and cooked to perfection on the premises. Only one red wine available - decent Merlot. Will be back - simple choice of well out together, excellent food that’s been my best meal in a high end restaurant for a while.More

The menu is very limited which is fine if they have all the ingredients. I ordered the rib eye steak after having arrived at 7.30pm - last one had just gone! We both then went for the artichoke soup followed by the chicken escalope. The...artichoke soup was very nice once seasoned properly - very bland to begin with. My friends chicken escalope was pink when she cut into it, so she sent it back to be cooked properly. Mine was OK until half way through and I bit into a very jelly like very underdone bit!! Not good. In all fairness they made a completely fresh one and gave us a couple of glasses of wine each on the house. The Chef also came out and apologised - which was nice. The sticky toffee pudding was excellent! I really do expect more of an experienced Chef when cooking chicken however. It is basic stuff.More

Had a great meal here in this compact beautiful little place. Some of the best food that I’ve had in London for a long while and at the price represents excellent value. All cooked food n front of you. Wild Boar loin was on the...menu and it was absolutely superb. Never been to Tooting before but I would highly recommend this spot and we will definitely be backMore

Heard it was good and went to see. It was. Wide breakfast offering, good portions and fairly priced. Held off from the full English this time but you do need a reason to go again, don’t you?

Had the lamb shoulder with mint jelly Sunday roast. Truly incredible. Meat was extremely tender and tasty. Veg/roasts and Yorkshire pudding were fresh and delicious. Young lad serving was very polite and quick. Couldn't recommend more.

Rare child free morning, found Richard’s Kitchen on Tripadvisor and I have to say it didn’t disappoint. You could easily walk past but that would be a mistake. Relaxed vibe and wholesome food. Rare to see Kippers on a menu these days but what a...treat they were. The place soon filled up so clearly the locals know where to come. Definitely will be backMore
