Arrived at restaurant without booking and had to wait half an hour for a table hence went for a drink just around the corner.
Came as as requested and our table was ready and our drinks order was taken promptly. We order some mixed olives as an appetiser and they were lovely.
We ordered two Santa Caterina pizza which came with a lot of fresh chilli topping and a Santa Carmela pizza. The pizza tasted very fresh as the to Matt sauce was made from fresh tomato as opposed to a manufactured tomato topping sauce. We also ordered a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc which was a very nice crisp wine.
Two finish we had Tiramisu which my wife has never had as she is not fond of Coffee in deserts but thoroughly enjoyed it as the coffee wasn’t over powering.
The service was excellent and the only downside was there was a large table of very loud people which in a small restaurant with very little soft furnishings to absorb the noises was a bit annoying. However can’t blame the restaurant for there clientele.

Pizzas here are always excellent, eaten here a few times. Just of late though service hasn’t been great. This particular evening there were just 2 other table dining, I had to wait 10 minutes for a menu, was offered water, ordered a pizza and a beer. 12 minutes later pizza arrived and I had to remind her of the beer. The music was loud and it sounded like perhaps the chef’s personal playlist, it wasn’t ‘restaurant music’. I asked for the music to be turned down which they obliged, for a short while! On a phone app decibels records at 85dB, my ears ringing I finished the pizza, paid and left. So not the most relaxing experience.

Such a lovely early evening supper with my wife and youngest daughter. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. The host who seated us and took our order named Daniella has fantastic energy! Vittorio was so attentive. At one point I asked if my 17 month wanted another straw and she nodded. He had already gone before I asked! He was so accommodating. The best thing was that they were happy and smiley and being in this industry you know that this makes any dining experience the best!

I'll tell you what, I am not picky when it comes to pizza. Honestly, I'll shove most things in my gob. This was the case with the calzone I ordered at Santa Maria. It arrived undercooked and lukewarm. The dough was soggy and despite this, when I had my first bite I struggled to swallow the damn thing. Soggy and dry are not synonymous and yet here we are. The reason for this was a severe lack of tomato sauce. They put two tiny spoonfuls on opposite ends which was just plain rude. When I asked for extra tomatoes, I had to wait for 10 minutes, despite there being two other customers and 5 staff members. Anyway back to the calzone. You typically put the sauce inside the thing and upon inspection (I cut it open) I found it stuffed with undercooked strips of bacon, ricotta, and mozzarella. Emphasis on the undercooked. Bacon strips are chewy and seemingly just out of the fridge. No sauce, if I may I remind you. The insides of this pizza looked like slashed guts and after eating half of this pizza, my intestines felt like the pizza looked.

My family and I had the best meal here. This was the best pizza we have eaten. My wife had the gluten free crust and she said you wouldn’t know it was gluten free. My Son and I each devoured our pies. The sauce here is real deal, so simple, so wonderfully bright and yet it had some depth without being too thick. The cheese filling the Calazone was delicious, unctuous, smooth as velvet and played down well with the meats in it. They replaced napkins, and silverware when we finished our burratta and olives with focaciq.
We complimented the manager at the end of our meal and he was gracious, humble, a gentleman and absolute pro at running the shop. I asked his name and he said “The Frenchman”. So now he is London legend to our family! The entire staff was awesome and next time we are in London, we will be here.
Come here for Pizza and enjoy the quality of great service and exceptional food!

I've recently visited Santa Maria pizzeria in Ealing, remembering a taste of their pizza from the previous place at South Ealing Rd W5 a few years ago. Pizza Santa Catarina, which I ordered, was a big disappointment - the base was very thin and too soft to hold plenty of ingredients on it. Salami sliced in strips wasn't fresh, 3 slices of extra parma ham (at additional £2.50) seemed to be from the "budget" shelf. The pizza overall tasted vinegar (maybe to kill a taste of unfresh ingredients). In addition to a bad eating experience, a waiter refused to accept cash payment, claiming that they have a "cards only" rule. In fact, there was a note on the entrance door, practically invisible with the door constantly open. Total experience at just £ 60 for 2 persons, with a 0.5 L carafe of cheap wine. No wonder the place was almost empty during busy lunch hours anywhere else. I cannot recommend this place, as there is a strong competition in the Ealing Broadway area, with much better choice of food.

We visited the Firzrovia branch of this small, but famous chain.
Typical Neapolitan-style pizza (big and soft). Great and tasty toppings, but the pizza base was maybe slightly undercooked, which affected the overall experience.
Restaurant with a few tables only, no particular decor, but fast and effective service.
Prices are lowers than the average pizzerias in London, which is a plus.
Several vegan options available.
Original idea to call every pizza with the name of an Italian Saint.
Apart from pizza, starters and desserts are also available, but selection is poor.
Definitely not the best pizzeria In London, but worth to try if you like the Neapolitan pizza.

Terrible service, waitress said there was no salami pizza at all but there there was one on the menu? Totally un interested and couldn’t be bothered to speak. Pizza had burnt crust and it the burnt taste tarnished the pizza.

Fitzrovia Restaurant was very quiet when we arrived and not busy at all. Could not fault friendly service but the pizza in our opinion was uncooked in centre. Mine had almost an entire bag of raw spinach thrown on the top - not wilted, not cooked with the pizza. Very off putting. The pizza base where there was topping was extremely wet and was more like an undercooked pancake. We complained and we’re told this is how they eat them - the tomato sauce makes the pizza wet. Disappointed as we had originally booked elsewhere but because of flooded kitchens that booking was cancelled. Would not return.

I had high hopes for this place but left disappointed.
Bruschetta was disappointing and tasted of nothing. Didn't taste seasoned and the tomatoes were straight out of the fridge so all you could taste was cold rather than lush ripe tomatoes (they were the type you buy on supermarkets prepacked).
Had a San Generro pizza that I picked specifically as I love anchovies ( yeah I know I'm weird). Pizza came and looked good. Once I cut into it I found the base was simultaneously burnt and undercooked. Black under the crust but raw in the centre. When intasted the pizza it was very bland. Now this has capers, olives and anchovies on it so I don't know how it tasted of nothing. When I looked closer there wasn't an anchovie in sight. Very disappointed abd when I compare to places like nonna selenas in Bloomsbury there is no comparison. Sorry folks but a poor experience.

What incredible pizza. I had the Sant’Anna with mushrooms at the Fitzrovia branch, as suggested on the menu, and it was outstanding. Chewy, wonderfully tasty and hot to the last mouthful. And then an absolutely delicious pudding made from almonds and pistachios; creamy, delicate, light and again a wonderful blend of flavours. Amaro to finish and the only little complaint…don’t serve it over ice without asking! The lady who took the order was new (and very good) so let’s just pass over that little flaw. This is a friendly, busy place, I was completely comfortable eating there as a solo woman, and the meal will stay in the memory for a long time. I won’t look any further for pizza next time I’m in London, that’s for sure. Bravo.

We just ordered from here for delivery and we’re completely dismayed with our experience. The delivery took longer than expected and then when it was delivered, the order was not complete. Upon calling the restaurant, they tried to blame the delivery driver, but as he was standing right there as we talked on the phone, their tune changed.
When we opened the order, we found the bottom of the pizza and calzone to be burnt but the top and inside had not even cooked long enough to melt the cheese! Also, the pizza and calzone were barely even warm let alone hot. Our dinner was a disaster and the restaurant kuldip not be bothered! As diners who eat out or have food delivered quite often this experience was at the very bottom of all of our experiences and will never be repeated!

Very good Pizza - will return! Well worth a visit to try it out. Recommended to this place we got a basic takeaway and took it home. It was excellent. Nice dough and high quaity ingredients. Very tasty indeed. The higher grade (more expensive ) Pizzas look intriguing and will try these next time. We always reheat at home in slices as we go so each piece is crispy and hot. I find all Pizzas in Restaurants go cold before finished. Service was good and friendly.
The waitress was very attractive I recall!

Absolute joke of a place. Just been forced to move tables in a half empty restaurant because the staff want to sit where our table is. Haven't even had any food and I now don't want it. This is a great example of how crappy service really leaves a sour taste. I don't even care what the food is like now - I just want to leave.

This was not my first time eating at Santa Maria. Their pizza is simply the best. The sort of quality and taste that you would expect to find in Naples. What I like about their pizza is the thin crust and the ingredents and the different choices available. We shared a bowl of some of their delicious salad. Our group arrived for dinner around 10pm and it was quite quiet as most of the dinner crowd had already left. The staff were very accomodating and friendly and we didn't feel rushed although it was late for eating dinnner in England. I love this place. I would definetly recommend this place just for the pizza.
