Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

AWFUL! We had a reservation, which I'm not sure why we needed one, but whatever. So the girl up front sat us and basically forgot about us. It's a very small place, and was only 65-70% full. The staff who worked there, 3 of them,...just kept passing us by, ignoring us...so unbelievably rude! 20 min went by and NO ONE stopped by! I was starting to get very uncomfortable and told my husband that this was ridiculous, how we're blatantly being ignored, for what reason I have no clue, so I want to leave. So we did. Glad we didn't stick it out. Not worth it when London has so many other great pizza places. I can't believe we wasted time trying to fit this dump into our tight day - never again.More

Very sadly we never got to taste the pizza. The pounding europop on a quiet Sunday lunchtime was unbearable. We did ask for it to be turned down but if it was, we couldn’t tell, so we left. Such a shame as we looking forward...to trying the much vaunted pizza.More

I ordered 2 pizzas from Santa Maria on Deliveroo. They were very poor. I raised a complaint and requested a refund as the pizzas were binned as inedible and we made do with toast!

Excellent find for good pizza in an unusual setting. You go upstairs in a building containing a collection of very interesting old vehicles. Some are on the level of the restaurant and visible through the windows separating it from the car floor. Good range of...toppings, friendly staff and my friend and I enjoyed our choices. Tucked between the busy buildings in construction of the Brentford Project, not far from The (attractive) Beehive pub.More

Amazing pizza in this place. Top 3 pizza places that I’ve been to, and I’ve been to a lot. Definitely recommend booking as it is quite small and busy. Whole family loved it!

Had occasion to visit the New Cavendish St branch of Santa Maria for lunch. This was quite a small and narrow pizzeria and virtually packed with customer’s. I ordered a Margherita with mushrooms and this took some time to be served, there was no excuse...as nearly all the other diner’s had their mains and if you know about how long it takes to cook a pizza in a pizzeria oven and why such a wait? The pizza looked very good with blistered edges (cornicione) and had a good taste though spoilt by a soggy middle. This should not happen if you are using a professional pizza oven which generates immense heat which should set the base of the pizza and thereon on occasions worked with the pizza peel. In general - an ok pizza.More

Such a shame, service has gone downhill since they’ve expanded. I visited the Ealing branch and the staff were unprofessional and unpleasant. Took the team over 10 minutes to provide a menu (my mum who has to deal with her sugar levels had to go...out and buy something to eat in the interim). She was shouted at by the waiter which she found very impolite, especially given the fact he could see why she was eating something else. Even once we ordered the pizzas we had to wait another 5 minutes for a sharing plate. I then asked for dessert menu, where the waitress went and built pizza boxes and continued to browse social media on on her mobile, this was another 15 minutes. Service was so appalling, I cancelled my tiramisu after waiting 20 minutes. I used to love this place and will not be returning.More

What incredible pizza. I had the Sant’Anna with mushrooms at the Fitzrovia branch, as suggested on the menu, and it was outstanding. Chewy, wonderfully tasty and hot to the last mouthful. And then an absolutely delicious pudding made from almonds and pistachios; creamy, delicate, light...and again a wonderful blend of flavours. Amaro to finish and the only little complaint…don’t serve it over ice without asking! The lady who took the order was new (and very good) so let’s just pass over that little flaw. This is a friendly, busy place, I was completely comfortable eating there as a solo woman, and the meal will stay in the memory for a long time. I won’t look any further for pizza next time I’m in London, that’s for sure. Bravo.More

This was not my first time eating at Santa Maria. Their pizza is simply the best. The sort of quality and taste that you would expect to find in Naples. What I like about their pizza is the thin crust and the ingredents and the...different choices available. We shared a bowl of some of their delicious salad. Our group arrived for dinner around 10pm and it was quite quiet as most of the dinner crowd had already left. The staff were very accomodating and friendly and we didn't feel rushed although it was late for eating dinnner in England. I love this place. I would definetly recommend this place just for the pizza.More
