5 out of 5 experience and couldn’t suggest highly enough. Please go and visit before they get their star (I’m predicting this year) extremely reasonable £60 food and additional £60 wine pairing both worth every penny. If you can get in, book it.

We went to Evelyns Table last night with another couple. Having booked this before lockdown, we were really looking forward to it and it didn't disappoint. The entrance to the building is a little off putting as you enter through a noisy pub on the ground floor, and we had drinks in the Mulwray bar on the first floor. The stairs up are really steep and narrow & quite difficult to climb. The bar was pleasant and informal with friendly service and eventually we were called to go down to the basement for our 8.30 sitting. Again the stairs, this time 2 flights were difficult to navigate but we were given a very warm welcome by the charming manager & we sat at 4 stools at the end of the counter. This is very much a chefs table experience and because the room is so small and only seats 10 people, a very intimate one. The 3 handsome and amazingly young Selby brothers were beavering away preparing the other guests food & when our turn came , we were totally blown away by the amazing taste and preparation of all the 5 dishes plus 2 surprise dishes which really was a surprise. 2 of us had the wine flight too, and the lovely lady sommelier took much time & trouble to explain the relevance of each wine choice and they were all truly memorable and unusual. Each Selby brother served and described individual dishes and the whole atmosphere was informal and really comfortable, despite the rather cramped surroundings. The food must be some of the best quality currently on offer in London and certainly of Michelin standard. These boys are really going places and the way they work together to produce such wonderful food is a joy to behold. Go if you can get a reservation!

What an experience! Incredible clean, fresh flavours significantly bigger and better balanced than many a 1* restaurant (and some 2*’s) we’ve been to. The Selby brothers are great - calm, collected and focused delivering exceptional dishes with a smile and a laugh here and there. Aiden was so passionate about the perfectly paired, rare bottles on the wine pairing. It’s not in the theatre district for nothing - the kitchen counter service always seems to take a restaurant to another level of entertainment, and this was no exception. Phenomenal value compared to other fine dining establishments. Will be coming back… if we can get another reservation!

We so enjoyed our diner here last time that we thought we would take our daughter & son in law to enjoy what we hoped would be another fantastic meal. It is always a bit worrying to take guests to a restaurant which you have been raving about to see if the food was as good as you had experienced. However we had no cause to worry as the meal was if anything better than we had had on our first visit. We went to the Mulwray bar on the 1st floor for pre-dinner drinks and then were shown down to the restaurant in the basement when service began for our sitting at 6 pm. As before there were 5 courses and this time the restaurant offers a wine pairing which we (and all the other 8 diners) took. The wine pairing was an excellent choice with a different wine for each course. The meal started with some cornish mackerel with gooseberry & elderflower & the wine pairing was a sake brewed in Peckham which was superb and really complimented the mackerel. The second course was wild mussel with tomato & shiso with a wine pairing of sparking rose from Puglia. As the menu changes ever 6-8 weeks the wine pairing will also change and the menu was very different from the one we had in May though it still included the dried aged duck & the additional complimentary course of duck leg in a pho bun which were our favourites last time. The duck was served with a pinot gris from New South Wales which was lovely The food was amazing as ever and the addition of the wine pairing is an added bonus . It is a wonderful experience for just 10 guests sitting around a kitchen watching three talented chefs prepare ,cook & explain each wonderful dish to you. Once again we can't wait to go back there again

My fiancée and I dinned at Evelyn’s table last night and wow what a night, what an amazing experience, what amazing food and what amazing guys the Selby brothers really are, as are the rest of the team in the restaurant and bars above. From the moment we arrived from being greeted at the door, to having our pre dinner drinks upstairs, to dinning in the restaurant we were treated like nothing short of royalty as were all the guests. The food is absolutely sensational each and every dish beautifully crafted in front of your eyes, I don’t want to name dishes in detail as don’t want to ruin the surprise for you all. Just it was one of those restaurants that every dish that appeared was your favourite until the next arrived. By the end of your meal you are blown away and leave absolutely buzzing. Can’t recommend Evelyn’s table enough. Thank you, we will definitely be back!!!!

A client/ now friend had been to this place a couple of times before and highly recommended it so we went together…. Fantastic experience. We had drinks in the bar ‘the blue post’ and then the maitre d’ brought us to the downstairs dining experience, if I recall correctly it was a seating area for approximately 10 guests, counter style with chefs cooking in front of us…. Being a x -chef, I thought this was amazing concept…. It’s a 5 course tasting menu with a couple of cheeky extra courses thrown in…. We also opted for the wine tasting menu which was excellent matching the wines with the food with a couple of nice new world wines are saki as well… The mackerel starter was amazing & melt in the mouth… The fried oyster also tasty… The monkfish was amazing and they cooked it on a Japanese bbq in front of guests… The maincourse venison was nice, the only letdown for me unfortunately was it was lukewarm, being that they’ve got no hot lamps in the kitchen… I was the last to be served of the 10 people so that was the only disappointment for the evening… The desert was nice…. When we finished the meal we wanted to go to the upstairs wine bar for after drinks but unfortunately that was closed… I definitely will return again perhaps when there are some different things on the menu looking forward to try the other restaurants in the group….

This must rate as one of the best meals we have had. Whatever fantastic reviews of this restaurant you have read, believe them. It's extremely intimate with only 10 covers around a counter behind which the chefs cook up their magic as you watch and eat. All of the courses (7 I believe including a couple of bonus ones) were excellent and the sommelier (a well fed James McAvoy lookalike) recommended some great wines to go with them. So all in all a totally wonderful experience - do go.

What a fantastic experience Luke, his 2 brothers and service staff give you in this 12 seater theatre of all things food and wine. From start to finish the whole experience was relaxed and exceptional and all on the day the restaurant received its first Michelin Star.(so well deserved) If you have never had a taster menu and pairing wine experience then Evelyns Table is the place you should head to, its simply wonderful. My only gripe is it so difficult to get booked in, this has to be the hottest ticket in town and there is good reasons why.

Booked for Thursdau night with a friend. Five courses but with a couple of surprises, and tried the wine pairing. The amazing thing was every single dish was great, not a single one that was 'just ok', which is what I tend to find in most tasting menus. My personal favorite was the lamb rack main, but it was a very difficult choice. The starter scallop was particularly amazing because of the tomato essence which was highly unusual and exceptionally good. I ahould also mention that the chefs were very good about explaining the menu but the front of staff were great - Aidan and Esme were lovely and funny and answered all our questions patiently. Very very highly recommended.

We had never done a Michelin starred restaurant before and after researching all of them in London we chose Evelyn's and it was the right choice. It is dinner theatre. There are twelve diners, and you're within mere feet of the chef's as they're preparing each course, watching them at work, interacting with them throughout the meal. They are so good at their craft, pairing foods that you would never imagine together. My memory is poor but I believe they paired oysters with strawberry, or maybe it was strawberry juice? I just remember thinking it was odd and interesting, but it was delicious. It was the best meal experience we've ever had and I would absolutely return. And yes we were full by the end. I can't recommend enough adding the wine flight to your meal; the sommelier was so knowledgeable and her descriptions of each pairing was interesting, and each wine was spot on for the course it was paired with. Spend the extra money, enjoy the wine pairing. If you're lucky enough to get a reservation you won't be disappointed. Just know that the dining area is small, it is not some large restaurant, but a small room that is very intimate, very personal, and an amazing experience.

What a spot. Evelyn's Table surpassed all expectations we had and the team presented us with a truly wonderful and memorable dining experience. We arrived and were shown to a reserved table in the upstairs pub. We enjoyed the complimentary Evelyn's Beer along with some nibbles while we read the back story to the restaurant before being guided downstairs. It is such an intimate venue, tucked away and truly unique just 12 seats watching the chefs at work. Whilst intimate it did not feel claustrophobic - just cosy and my friend and I still enjoyed private chats despite it being a communal type venue. I couldn't do the descriptions of the food justice, but each course was sensational. Personally presented by the chefs with explanation and an invitation to ask any questions about the food - which we did and enjoyed these chats immensely! We were also guided by the sommelier into some fabulous wine choices. The pairing wine menu also sounded sensational with the couple next to us singing the praises of the wine choices. The stand out dishes were the quail, lamb, cod, milk bread, the dessert... everything!!! If you are lucky to snag a reservation - enjoy!!!

A truly unforgettable experience. Super talented chefs, working right in front of you to create the most delicious dishes I've ever had. The wine pairing was perfect, and the atmosphere was relaxed but exciting. Also the music was great!! Would love whoever's playlist that was. Overall, if I could eat here everyday I would.

It's comfortably up there in top 5 all time restaurants. The food is wonderful and there's a few surprise dishes which I won't post pictures of to try and keep it that way.. Difficult to pin point a stand out when every dish had something unique, and was really tasty. Special mentions for the oyster with tempura with all kinds of wizardry on top and the version cooked to perfection. It's fine dining food without the pretentiousness. The setting is really special watching all the talented chefs at work. It's a lovely touch with each course they explain all its components. The 2 additional staff are really friendly and welcoming and the playlist was great. Loved it all.

Our evening at Evelyn's Table was the best dining experience of our lives. Seating is at a counter with a total of 12 diners and on the other side of the counter is the kitchen where you watch three chefs prepare your creative, inventive, delicate, delicious food. Each course is described in detail to you personally by one of the chefs. The wine pairing adds an entirely other wonderful dimension to the evening. I will never forget our evening at Evelyn's Table and hope to return some day.

When a friend suggested joining her at Evelyn’s Table, I wasn’t sure as it seems expensive. But I am so happy I decided to go. The food was amazing, service mostly good. Each dish explained and everything a pleasure except perhaps dessert on the day we went (far too cloyingly sweet) but every other dish was spot on! Atmosphere (ie other diners) was rather subdued as there was an air of quiet seriousness about food (I think we were given a couple of looks for laughing as we were chatting - but it was just the day we went. It is a 12-seater restaurant so very dependent on who is there on that sitting). All in all I would recommend going at least once. PS you can arrive early and have a drink at their bar upstairs.
