On Thursday I was kindly invited for lunch from a broker I work with, having visited many restaurants on London this venue seems to provide a very different offering. The wine was amazing and would be easily at home in any wine bar throughout the...More

Very nice wine, comfy sofas, friendly bar ladies - a super escape from other loud, packed bars/pubs while the world cup was on.

This is one of my favourite little places for lunch in the City. It is cosy, full of atmosphere with great wine and great sandwiches, perfect for a City lunch!

The restaurant at Ruskins is rarely used these days, but the toasties, platters and snacks accompany the exceptional wine selection very very well indeed. Ruskins is always a winner, particularly in winter - given that there aren't any windows!

The first warning sign came when the restaurant was only half full in an area of the City that is normally bursting at the seams at lunchtime. My guest and I soon discovered why. Our fish pies were practically inedible - bits of fish floating...More

We hit El Vono after a day of playing tourists. The wine list is extensive, the menu fairly standard, and the service was of much higher quality than one expects in London. El Vino has a comfy feel that was completely unexpected. Go, you won't...More

“The City” is one of London's most historic and
fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office
towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with

This is the latest addition to the El Vino portfolio, although we have had links to this lovely winebar for many years. In many ways we have gone back to our roots with Ruskins, as Mark Lane was the location of the first ever El Vino Tasting House, and an area well known for Wine and Spirit Merchants in the latter part of the nineteenth century. Located conveniently within easy walking distance of Tower Hill, Liverpool Street and Monument, this is an ideal venue for corporate entertaining and parties with a well-proportioned function space. Opening hours are Mon to Frid 10.00am - 8.30pm. Coffee from 10.00am. Bar 11.00am - 8.30pm. Restaurant 12.00 noon - 2.30pm. Tapas Available Tue to Fri 3.00pm - 8.45pm What's cooking? Oak smoked scottish salmon, steamed mussels of the day, whole roasted seabass with rosemary, chive and balsamic dressing and Sumatran style roast duck breast with fragrant rice and crispy vegetables are all worth trying."
