We had another lovely, reasonably priced pre-theatre meal here today. My honey and whole grain mustard-glazed gammon, egg and chips was delicious and my friends beer battered fish, chips and mushy peas was also great. He chose this, as he'd enjoyed it so much last...More

Not sure about the name - who are they scoffing at and where is the banter. This is a typical hotel restaurant with an expensive though extensive breakfast buffet. Eggs benedict were served on ciabatta with streaky bacon. Good selection of fruit, fresh juice, coffees...More

A little pricey, but well worth it. We had the Prosecco high tea. You choose two items from each list of starters, sandwiches, scones, and sweets. Nice surroundings, excellent service, excellent quality. Must try the spicy beef starter. Booking is advised.More

Description
In the heart of literary Bloomsbury and close to the British Museum, Scoff & Banter combines a smart sports bar showing all the live action from the Premiership, and a great restaurant serving innovative modern British food, or simply dishes from the Grill. The interior features cool marble floors and comfortable leather chairs. On the walls specially commissioned artwork gives a modern interpretation of the Dutch masters. In the bar the bites and shares menu offers a selection of spicy Far East influenced dishes. It is also a wonderful place to enjoy a traditional afternoon tea. Scoff & Banter Bloomsbury is very popular for pre-theatre dining, being a minute away from the Dominion Theatre on Tottenham Court Road, and just north of London's Theatreland.
