Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice ambiance. Typical Italian Trattoria Good meal selection. Very traditional dishes. Friendly and good service. Prices mid-range.

Visited whilst staying at a nearby hotel. Pasta looked and had texture like it was shop bought from local supermarket market. Then when I had finished my meal I noticed a tub of what looked like pre cooked chilled pasta in the fridge. This is...not what I would have expected from an 'authentic Italian' restaurant. The bruscheta was OK. Tomatoes used tasted bland, didn't taste of a rich fresh vine tomato. No olive oil on the bread. It felt a bit lazy from the chef. The team were attentive as a solo diner. Service was quick, maybe too quick? In all, it was expensive for the level of quality. If I was in a rush or needed a quick bite. Yes I'd go back but would not take friends to impress.More

Second visit here. Tonight I asked for the Beal Picatta however I wanted a side of short pasta with tomato sauce and they obliged. The plate was delicious. I would have given 5 stars except that they did not offer bread (a sin in Italy)...and the picatta portion was smallish. Still, a great place to savor good Italian cuisine.More

We all enjoyed the food - the calamari and prawn starters were excellent. The pasta bolognese was delicious, as was the chicken with parmigiana. The pudding menu had everything you wanted so it was hard to choose, but I can recommend the apple pie and...the profiteroles. The restaurant feels authentically Italian and the service was excellent.More

Myself and my husband just had a weekend in London. We were staying a short walk from this restaurant and kept walking past saying how cute and authentic it looked, so last night about 9pm, we decided to go in. The staff were really nice...and friendly and also accommodated my dairy allergy by taking cream out of a pasta dish, my husband had pepperoni pizza. Disapqpointingly, both dishes were so bland, no fresh herbs used, and no flavour really to them at all. Not what you expect from an authentic Italian restaurant. By about 10.30pm as we were finishing our wine, people were still eating, and the staff were walking through the restaurant with bags and boxes of rubbish,l to dispose of, we were sat by the door, it was cold and wet so not pleasant whilst they propped the door open to do this, this should be done when the restaurant is closed, this really wasn't great. Then the door opened again whilst they brought in the tables and chairs from outside and folded them up inside, making you feel like you were really being pushed out, it was all the most uncomfortable experience to be honest. Such a shame, they have a few things to work on In this restaurant, the quality of the food being a huge one in our opinion.More

A huge let down. This used to be one of our regular places to visit whenever we are in London. But after this catastrophic service, I'm not sure any more. We were 6 people, and waited for over 30min before orders where taken. We observed...multiple couples that arrived after us getting served before us. When the food arrived, it was good but what happened to the fresh pepper and parmesan cheese to top off the pasta? They used over 45min to clear the table (30 min for the first half, and another 15min for the second half) and offer desert. At that point we were done, werry done. And waited another 20min for the bill, which we had asked to be splitt (2 families). Not even this had been done, as requested when we ordered. And to top I off, they had the arrogance to grant themselves (for us an involuntarily) tip/service charge for this lousy serviceMore

Finally got to visit this fabulous Italian restaurant and have found what I have been missing in London. If it is authentic Italian food you are looking for, then look no further! Visited De Amicis with my boyfriend. It's a lovely rustic restaurant with a...homely welcome. Staff were polite, friendly and extremely helpful. Food was quickly served with the owner visible and working hard in the kitchen. Each course was full of flavour and perfectly finished. We left the restaurant feeling full but not sluggish Might have been my first visit but definitely not the last! Would highly recommend.More

Stayed in the neighborhood & walked past this place several times. place always had patrons. Not crazy full, just cozy. Had the bruschetta, truffle mushroom pasta & steak entree. All good & well priced. Loved the bruschetta & pasta. While we were out of towners,...could tell the neighborhood/locals loved this place - great experience.More

We loved it here, we ordered our family favourites including lasagne, margherita pizza, carbonara and rocket salad - all of it was fantastic. The best pizza dough, absolutely delicious. Great service and lovely that you can see into the kitchen too. Lots of regulars in...the restaurant and one we would definitely come back to. Thank you!More
