Mid week reservation through book a table at £39 for 3 courses and a glass of champagne Restaurant is beautiful, staff very attentive and service was good. Portions were also quite substantial We both had salmon with blinis to start with a lemon creme fraiche which was a nice addition. My chicken supreme was excellent and the pomme sarladaise nice and crisp My friends steak however was very disappointing, a large piece of rib that was difficult to cut and even more difficult to eat resulting in most of it being left In fairness to the restaurant they offered to replace the dish and removed the cost from the bill. Would definitely return but probably avoid the steak next time

Finished up our last day of a hectic trip to London by treating ourselves to a classic British tea. Definitely a bit of an indulgence but worth every penny (pence?). The service was outstanding and the food was delicious, especially the ornate desserts. My teens especially loved sampling all of the different options and the wait staff was extremely patient in fulfilling all of our requests. Enjoyed our extra scones on the plane trip home the next day.

Excellent afternoon tea @Palm Court during Valentines weekend in February. This venue is charming with an afternoon pianist playing in the background. The 'Langham' blend tea is excellent and the warmth of the 'Chai' tea is also a great tea flavour to enjoy. There was an excellent choice of finger sandwiches which included vegan options. The tea was served in elegant silver tea pots which kept the tea blend nice and warm. The staff were always helpful in recommending teas and also offering additional sandwiches. The scones were also wonderful, served with rich cream and jam preserve. We were given a lovely cake to take with us and also some scones. This is the best afternoon tea experience in London.

We came to The Langham today and tried out there Festive Afternoon Tea. The staff at the entrance were lovely and friendly and when we arrived at the Palm Court the front of house staff escorted us to the table, no one offered to help with my partner's chair to which we thought due to the pandemic that they couldn't do that but after we sat we could see other staff helping guests that were similar to our age, after we sat down we were given our menus and waited for a waiter to take our tea order. But sadly we had to wait for some time about 5 minutes till he arrived, he asked us if we had any allergies and also asked if we wanted any sparkling wine which we got. As we waited the room you have Afternoon Tea is beautiful, stunning and well designed, our sandwiches arrived with our tea and the selection was amazing from the classic cream cheese & cucumber to smoke salmon they tasted amazing. The waiter cleared our sandwich plates and cutlery for fresh new ones, we were never asked if we would like any more sandwiches as we have had other Festive Afternoon Tea from different hotels and they have asked if we would like more. A gentleman which we think was a head waiter asked if we ready for our pastries to which we said yes he then cleared the plates that the previous waiter had placed and we were give 3 mince pies which was placed in the middle and our own selectional of pastries/desserts. They all tasted amazing and we would say it's better than other hotel afternoon tea options we have had, again at no point were we asked if we wanted more tea or refill of food and we just felt neglected, we are paying around £78 per person and totally understand that due to Covid that the service maybe different. The scones arrived and we were excited as it's our favourite part of afternoon teas and the waiter who served us just placed the scones, the jam, clotted cream and our clean plates with cutlery on the stand and didn't clear our plates from the pastries that we had so we had to move our dirty plates on the stand and place our new plates on our tables, again if you go to a five star hotel you want five star service which again we didn't get. Sadly the scones were not good dry and no flavour, the clotted cream was still solid from the fridge (which we understand needs to be in there for freshness but impossible to spread on your scones as other hotels have them at room temperature) and they offered strawberry jam and marmalade which tasted fine. No one checked up on us if we wanted more tea or how our food was again just left neglected. When we were paying you could tell it was a new team that had arrived for there shift and when the waiter asked how was everything we did inform her of our experience and gave us a 10% discount which we were not happy with but we didn't want to make say anything as we were embarrassed to say that it was not good enough.

Went for a birthday meal, we were sat right by the door with a freezing cold draft, there were 5 of us sat at a maximum 3 person table so we were squashed. The food was nice (especially the lobster bisque) but the service was painfully slow. No one offered to take our coats or bags when we arrived, they were slow to clear the table once a course was finished and would leave random plates. To be honest, I wouldn’t recommend it.

We ate in this restaurant for both breakfast and one evening meal. It would be unfair, but everything inside me wants to only give it 1 star. BREAKFAST: There are insufficient staff to serve coffee efficiently for guests. Each time I had to alert one of the staff to bring coffee or toast - the latter having been forgotten. That is not a terrible sin, but when you consider that this is a 5 star hotel, then it should be considered a sin! The whole management of the restaurant requires a rethink, in my opinion. DINNER: We only ate here once but that was enough. I ordered a biryani curry as a main course. I ate a few mouthfuls and gave up. This was not a Biryani, it was more like a Madras in temperature. Let me give this a little background - I am British but I was born in India, I have eaten properly cooked curries from a younger age than most and my favourite dish is a Biryani. So, I eat this dish regularly - and I am now 60 years of age. The dish was worthy of being served in a local local pub. I wonder what a food critic would have thought? I won't bore you with any further details save to say that I had an upset stomach that evening and I am quite robust. In the final analysis, there are 2 restaurants at the Langham. Don't go to this restaurant. It is a waste of your money. Treat yourself to the more expensive but nevertheless excellent Roux at the Landau down the hallway. I really cannot fault it.

Visited for my wife's 40th with the children. Our main waiter was Lewelyn who was just lovely, wonderful manner and superb service. It is an expensive place but the pianist, decor and overall ambience are spot on. We had a bottle of Taittinger Brut Reserve followed by the High Tea. The whole culinary experience from the sandwiches on different breads, to eclectic array of cakes to the warm scones with clotted cream and jam were just delicious. The children's option was so beautifully and creatively done with special attention to my elder daughter's allergies. Throughout the pianist played beautifully a mixture of modern and traditional tunes. Bravo Langham. Just superb!

Afternoon Tea on a Saturday afternoon was most enjoyable. I met friends who were treating me and upon arrival was shown to the table immediately. A glass of champagne was enjoyed, followed by a plate of excellent, fresh and different from most hotels, sandwiches, which were replenished. Good scones and a plate of varying small cakes, most elegant and enjoyable. Very good service. A lovely tea and lovely company. Thank you. Be warned: a long hike to the 'restroom' with no facility of leaving a coat and a risk of getting lost on the way back!!!

The Langham is the “home of afternoon tea” and offers “something for everyone who loves tea” One of the key ingredients of afternoon tea is the tea itself, and while the Langham like most hotels of this quality offers a range of teas, many people will pick one of Earl Grey or the Hotel blend/Darjeeling. Amazingly the hotel didn't have Darjeeling (their supplier had none in stock, and in spite of what must be a vast number of high quality tea importers in a city such as London, they couldn't find any suitable). We tried a couple of other teas, and they were either so weak as to be tasteless, or so strongly “fruit/spice flavoured” not to be to our taste. In the end I ended up with coffee !! The pastries/cakes were excellent, but unlike any hotel of this quality we were refused a refill. (I understand that they don't want you “stocking up” to take home, but these were to be eaten there and then). We have never come across this situation in any quality hotel anywhere in the world before. Scones were nice, but very small portions of cream/jam. (Part of the reason for the tea was to celebrate my partners birthday during lockdown. In spite of this being mentioned when I booked, nothing "special" was done, although other tables clearly had a small cake/candle provided. Disappointing really) Following discussion with the Assistant Restaurant Manager he offered a 20% reduction in the bill, but still added on 12.5 % service. In summery this is one of the worse afternoon tea experiences we've ever had at this price level, and needless to say we will not be returning to the Langham, as there are numerous 5 star hotels in London offering a vastly better experience in the £70/head price range.

Fantastic dinner experience at the Palm Court. Subtle lighting and music followed by very attentive service. Portions were good- we had the steak from the set menu and tried the assortment of desserts. Every bite was amazing and the food and ambiance satisfies many people on many levels. Will definitely go back there 🥰

I thought long and hard before coming here. Lots of places to choose from for a London afternoon tea and I wanted it to be special. It certainly isn’t cheap. So disappointing therefore to be let down by the service. Slow and surly waiting staff telling me in no uncertain terms “ it is coming” when I enquired why we waited so long between courses. There wasn’t a hint of being looked after. When it came to paying the bill I asked for the already included service charge to be removed. This request was met with a swift enquiry as to where we’d been sitting. No apology was forthcoming. Instead I was left standing on my own while the manager disappeared, maybe to berate those who hadn’t been doing their job. Who knows! He certainly fared no better in charm. I’ve since written to complain and heard nothing.

I booked afternoon tea for a birthday treat and although the hotel looked fantastic i'm afraid the afternoon tea didn't live up to my expectations. I expected more than 4 finger sandwiches, 3 miniature scones and 5 of the smallest cakes I have ever seen. The hotel advertises a dress code for afternoon tea yet guests where there in sweat shirts. Overall we were disappointed and didn't get the experience we expected.

Staying at the Langham and had breakfast daily at the Palm Court, which was very good. After several days of shopping and sight seeing, we decided to have dinner at Palm Court in lieu of room service or venturing out in the cold. The evening food and service is even better than breakfast. We had lobster bisque, scotch egg, Cornish hake, Madeira glazed ox cheek, and pistachio creme brulee, and iced coffee parfait. All were delicious. As I was being served with my dessert, my son informed me the passing of Kobe Bryant, and our server overheard him and confirmed it as well. I was so sad and lost my appetite - this is in no way the fault of anyone at Palm Court - it was just a memorable experience, since we live in Los Angeles and are big Kobe fans.

The palm court has a beautiful plush setting with a pianist playing in the background. The service was amazing - the staff were really friendly and attentive. The sandwiches were fresh and soft, the scones were warm and buttery, and the cakes/pastries were delightful and not too sickly-sweet. Overall a fantastic experience and well worth the money.

We had read quite a few bad reviews before going for afternoon tea here but honestly I don’t know why. This afternoon tea was fantastic from start to finish. The hotel itself is just beautiful and there is a great atmosphere, especially with the piano player, who was wonderful. The food was incredible and we were offered more of every course, though there is a lot of food there anyway and we would have left full even if we hadn’t have had extra sandwiches. It doesn’t come on a stand all at once like other afternoon teas, and instead they bring out individual plates of food, so it doesn’t seem like a lot of food initially but thinking about it it’s actually quite nice and everything just seemed a lot fresher. We were two adults with our 2yr old son, who had the children’s afternoon tea. It was so nice that he could have his own special afternoon tea along side us. He loved it! Service was great, staff very friendly and attentive and also very sweet with our son. We didn’t feel rushed at all. We’ve done a lot of afternoon teas in London and this is definitely up there with the best. Totally recommend and we’d love to return!

Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
