What a wonderful experience and a gourmet delight Afternoon Tea was. The attention to detail in the perfectly cut sandwiches, and their wonderful fillings. A selection of cakes and pastries that fill you with joy, and are so scrumptious. A wonderful selection of teas, the...White Peony was an experience. Add a glass of champagne made it a most wonderful way to celebrate my wife’s birthday! The staff are exceptional! Friendly, attentive and fun. Throughly recommended as an experience one should not miss!More

Outstanding venue, food simply delicious and service exceptional. Breakfast:- At last a chef who knows how to cook scrambled eggs the "French" way, slowly, lots of butter and love... Dinner:- Best rib eye steak I have tasted in years.

I just wanted to take the time to write this review Thank The Langham for a marvellous experience we had with Palm Court on Sunday, thank you Arina and your team for going above and beyond and creating a magical time for a special birthday....The palm court room is beautiful and decorated tastefully. As we were seated next to the piano, we were supplied a stand for our bags and Flitan supplied us with the champagne to start our experience. The selection of sandwiches and pastries/cakes were divine. The scones were the perfect size and served warm with a selection of jams and clotted cream. I’m naturally not a tea drinker however Nina found one to suit my taste and it was perfect. I wanted to mention a few of the staff members by name who ensured our experience with you was wonderful. We spent nearly 3 hours with the team at Palm Court and the service was faultless. Flitan and Nina were incredible and an absolute gem and asset to the Langham, they ensured everything was seamless, checked we were ok, topped our teas up and ensured a great time was to be had. They were truly stars who made the experience for the special birthday that more perfect. They had the ultimate charm and charisma. They were great to speak with, it was like we had known them both years, they timed everything perfectly. The other person was Scott the Pianist he was extremely pleasant and spoke with us in between his sessions as we were on the table close by, the variety of songs were complimenting and perfect for a Sunday lunchtime and his talent is incredible. It was such an added bonus to have a talented pianist whilst enjoying our afternoon tea On another note I am not sure what people’s expectations are, however I have experienced many afternoon teas at numerous 5* hotels and personally the Palm Court was the best I’ve had. It was our first time at The Langham and I know it won’t be our last, I just want to personally thank Arina, Flitan, Nina and Scott was a truly wonderful time. We will be backMore

The Langham is the “home of afternoon tea” and offers “something for everyone who loves tea” One of the key ingredients of afternoon tea is the tea itself, and while the Langham like most hotels of this quality offers a range of teas, many people...will pick one of Earl Grey or the Hotel blend/Darjeeling. Amazingly the hotel didn't have Darjeeling (their supplier had none in stock, and in spite of what must be a vast number of high quality tea importers in a city such as London, they couldn't find any suitable). We tried a couple of other teas, and they were either so weak as to be tasteless, or so strongly “fruit/spice flavoured” not to be to our taste. In the end I ended up with coffee !! The pastries/cakes were excellent, but unlike any hotel of this quality we were refused a refill. (I understand that they don't want you “stocking up” to take home, but these were to be eaten there and then). We have never come across this situation in any quality hotel anywhere in the world before. Scones were nice, but very small portions of cream/jam. (Part of the reason for the tea was to celebrate my partners birthday during lockdown. In spite of this being mentioned when I booked, nothing "special" was done, although other tables clearly had a small cake/candle provided. Disappointing really) Following discussion with the Assistant Restaurant Manager he offered a 20% reduction in the bill, but still added on 12.5 % service. In summery this is one of the worse afternoon tea experiences we've ever had at this price level, and needless to say we will not be returning to the Langham, as there are numerous 5 star hotels in London offering a vastly better experience in the £70/head price range.More

We had a pleasant afternoon tea experience at the Palm Court. The pastries were good and much better than other hotels. The yellow gold, red dragon and jasmine silver needle were the best teas. I was slightly disappointed there was no Ali Shan tea available....Tea and pianist are better at fortnums. However, venue and ambience is more grand and luxurious at the Langham. The scones and sandwiches were mediocre. The service from Philtan was very good and deserves a special mention as it made the experience much more enjoyable. Thank you!More

A delightful afternoon tea spot. The room itself is beautiful with a great vibe and our server was very helpful and attentive. Fantastic desserts with nice quality tea, sandwiches and scones. It wasn’t the best afternoon tea experience I have had in London but it...is a very solid option in the city, and I certainly would put it in my top 5. The piano player was also very talented!More

Well we booked to have afternoon tea, to be quite honest I was quite disappointed. I had to ask for a bag stand - my bags do not go on the floor due to the cost so I had to put my bag at the...side of me on the chair. My husband told the waiter that he couldn’t eat cheese, these were present on the menu for scones so the waiter informed him he would give him an extra sandwich - this didn’t happen, 2 cheese scones arrived also 4 sandwiches for my husband, no extra sandwich. I noticed on a few occasions the waiter would refill other customers tea cups, this never happened to us, we had to pour our own!! We were left for quite a while on a few occasions. The scones you couldn’t really spread the jam and cream they would crumble on the plate. To be honest the more I think about it the more disappointed I am. £180 bill for 2 afternoon tea and 2 glasses of champagne and no extra special service. Sorry I wouldn’t recommend the afternoon tea I can be contacted at lyn_mcc@yahoo.co.uk if you wish to discuss in more detailMore

Such a beautiful hotel shame about tea for two if you can call it that. Served on plates nat a stand . Sandwichs were very sparse and tasteless this was followed by a small cheese scone and cream cheese such a small portion of cream...cheese and chutney there wasn't enough for both. I waited and waited for the pretty cakes and was dissapointed when they brought up a plate each with 4 biscuits with cream or cherry on one of them. Tea was cold and long waited scones arrived hardly any cream or jam enough for two. This was so dissapointing for such a big hotel, would not recommend or go back. Thi was a gift we were looking forward to to be so deflated.More

We had read quite a few bad reviews before going for afternoon tea here but honestly I don’t know why. This afternoon tea was fantastic from start to finish. The hotel itself is just beautiful and there is a great atmosphere, especially with the piano...player, who was wonderful. The food was incredible and we were offered more of every course, though there is a lot of food there anyway and we would have left full even if we hadn’t have had extra sandwiches. It doesn’t come on a stand all at once like other afternoon teas, and instead they bring out individual plates of food, so it doesn’t seem like a lot of food initially but thinking about it it’s actually quite nice and everything just seemed a lot fresher. We were two adults with our 2yr old son, who had the children’s afternoon tea. It was so nice that he could have his own special afternoon tea along side us. He loved it! Service was great, staff very friendly and attentive and also very sweet with our son. We didn’t feel rushed at all. We’ve done a lot of afternoon teas in London and this is definitely up there with the best. Totally recommend and we’d love to return!More
