If you don't fancy watching someone feeding her dog from her plate, then ask for a table upstairs - dogs not allowed there.

We had a Christmas lunch on December 14th for 18 people at Julie's. Our age-range was 17 months to 80 years and we all had a totally wonderful time. The restaurant is incredibly child-friendly and provided children's lunches and a high chair for the youngest....More

We hosted a dining event here with an all male group of 13 in their banqueting room. A lovely intimate room which suited us perfectly. They say it can seat 24 but I am not so sure, 16-18 would be optimum but 12-16 would give...More

A magnet for over 40 years from the hippie generation and now to the ultra-cool London set. Julie's has been referred to as the rock chick of the restaurant world. Opened in 1969, the decadent originality of this iconic restaurant remains. A maze of glamorous rooms and eclectic furnishings with murals, church pews and pulpits, a honeycomb of small eating areas and alcoves each in a different style including a medieval private banqueting room, you can sink into golden velvet sofa's flanked by rich Indian carvings and stained glass window. The great names from rock and roll, high society and Hollywood have passed through the doors. Originally a builders yard, Julie’s is named after interior designer Julie Hodgess, who conceived both Julie’s Restaurant and Bar in 1969. Owners Tim and Cathy Herring have continued to consult her ever since. Johnny Ekperigin joined the Herrings in the 1970's and has gone on to become Managing Partner of Julie’s and The Portobello Hotel.
