Dear Kathryn, thank you so much for your wonderful review. It was quite remiss of us to reply so late in the day, so apologies. Now in November and autumn well and truly settled we are still so pleased you enjoyed your meal with us...More
I first visited in October 2022 and loved the French atmosphere and the typical bistro menu. On my next visit to London we invited a friend last night. A bit of a change. The menu seemed dumbed down and easy to cook. Not cheap for...the offerings. I had the confit de canard which was crisp and overcooked and the cheese potatoes uninteresting and soggy. A poor selection of wines at big mark ups. Waiters who looked at the tables and not the customers so getting their attention was slow. They also had no idea about wine. Generally it looked like a restaurant that is having real trouble finding good staff in the restaurant and the kitchen.More
Dear Coylum. Thank you for your honest review and for returning after your previous enjoyable experience. There are a few points in your comments that we wanted to reassure you with. We have changed the design of the menu, but the format and content is...More
From the extremely warm welcome to the delicious food, this is a gem of a restaurant. It’s a pleasure to eat somewhere where every member of staff appears to genuinely enjoy being there. It was smiles all round, nothing was too much trouble and then...the food was right on money, French Bistro to a tee. The cheese soufflé to start was excellent and then my entrecôte steak (I like mine blue) was perfect. If I was to be in any way critical, I would have preferred more salad (the dressing was fab) and less fries. That’s me just being picky. It’s a little piece of France in Sheppard’s Bush.More
Dear P6943 Thank you so much for your lovely words. It was lovely meeting you and hope the rest of your stay in London is successful. Really appreciate your time to review us and we do look forward to seeing you again very soon. All...More
Great stop off after a busy day. Great 3 course menu for £27 with an iced pea soup starter, perfect seeing that it was well into the 30s. Babette steak, fries and salad main followed by a very moreish lemon dessert. Nice food, not heavy,...well cooked and served by a very attentive front of house team. Bravo!!More

Visited on Saturday 2nd September for dinner in the evening. Booked online & arrived to be seated in the window. Absolutely loved the restaurant and vibe. Positives: - Food was delicious. Bread came out hot, chicken was really cooked to how I liked it and...the fries were to die for. - French music playlist in the restaurant was perfection Improvements: - The staff were really friendly but we didn’t see enough of them. We had to chase for more drinks and we didn’t see anyone during the mains to see if we wanted sauces, water or more wine. - We booked online and the site asked if we were coming for a special occasion. We shared our celebration for coming yet no one at any point referenced it, and so a little confused why we were asked? Overall a lovely evening and we’d be very happy to returnMore
Dear Michael Thank you so much for your lovely review. It is really appreciated and we also have taken on board your comments which are well advised. We look forward to seeing you again very soon. All the best, Emily, Lawrence & all the team...More

We enjoyed our evening at this lovely example of a little bit Provence, located halfway between Hammersmith and Shepherds Bush. The ambience was great, the menu was focussed (Gordon Ramsay would have approved) and so the food was correspondingly better. Tuesday is 25% off steaks...so most of our group enjoyed the excellent entrecote, beautifully sliced so it tasted better than a fillet. The service was excellent and the placed hummed. Wonderful.More
Dear Simon. Thank you so much for your wonderful and charming review. We are so pleased you enjoyed your experience and meal with us and that the essence of Provence came across too. We also appreciate the nod to our Steak Night on Tuesdays too!...More
We had wanted to come here for a while, brought my daughter here for a treat. Its not been great. We wouldn’t recommend this place at all. The food looks great but it tastes like airline food. Wrong. Firstly, don’t get the chicken! It was...so poor; dry, powdery chunks of blandness and a thin, watery sauce, vegetables were completely inedible but looked good - nobody else was eating the veg either , literally a plate of asparagus going back to the kitchen untouched on the opposite table The thin slice of seabass was adequate (12cm x 7cm:) guess it’s hard to get wrong but no seasoning, nothing, just completely plain, unseasoned fish, it was a surprise for sure, if the accompanying tomato paste had been edible it would have helped. The cost was an unfunny joke. (Incidentally I am older & have spent a fair amount of time in Provence & other regions of France, this wasn’t me not understanding what to expect, we came for simple & flavourful, not dry, bland & inedible). We did complain to the lovely staff that it was unusual to be sending COMPLETELY FULL plates back to the kitchen bin, they did raise it with the chef, sadly the only recourse was to knock off the staff tip apparently, I left excruciated having really begged to put the tip back on (we had no cash). Before this my daughter did try and negotiate - pointing out that we were leaving without eating hardly anything, we asked for half off one of the meals - but no. Really bad. Still sad that my young daughter tried to get it sorted for me when I couldn’t, she shouldn’t have had to - we were so stressed with it. Incidentally, if someone had asked us how our meal was whilst we were eating (as so many restaurants do) it may have given us an opportunity to rectify, it wasn’t busy (early evening and 3 other tables only) unusual not to check surely..maybe the staff don’t ask because they’re worried about the response, idk. Seems the owners aren’t worried about poor reviews or unhappy customers (judging by the lack of resolution available to the staff & I predict I’ll be told on here ‘the team are so sorry you had a really crap, costly & stressful experience, we look forward to seeing you soon) like other reviewers on here. 🍋 if you do read this please no response (once again) would be much much better please then a ‘see you again soon’ sign off - I feel ripped off and no resolution and a glib tone deaf response isn’t going to change that is it? For me I’m sorry your lovely, professional, apologetic server had to contend with this. Nothing is going to change the fact that I’d been building up this visit to my daughter and it’s just been awful. We came in ravenous and left just as hungry - just poorer - avoid!. The atmosphere was deadening, chilly and oppressive, it felt like the food really was for display purposes only…(although the small square of potato gratin was nice). USA soon as we got there red flags went up when we were asked in the space of five mins literally 3 times if we had a reservation, just odd. We quickly realised that there was a strange, sterile vibe there and chose not to order starters, wine, desserts, coffee (all the stuff we were looking forward to) & it became a damage limitation exercise instead - grabbing mains and leaving. We came early 6pm thinking we would have a long meal and a few courses, but the food took 30-40 minutes to arrive, if we had known there were issues, been advised there were delays, we would have taken the salad as a starter, at least, maybe even ordered starters.. If you’re planning on coming to this restaurant hungry 🙃 I’d recommend bringing snacks to tide you over ;) & perhaps some spices & fresh herbs or sauces to make a proper meal out of the food there.. We are baffled by the other good reviews, maybe cronies? the place is an absolute duffer. Addendum - after the stress of it all I came home and threw up the 8cm square of potato gratin that had cost me £20, an amazingly crap, rather stressful experience for what looks like a lovely, thriving little restaurant (it’s not). Try Ploussard’s or Zedels or Chez Lindsay in Richmond or La Petite Auberge in Islington instead.More

We recently celebrated my mother in law’s 90th birthday party at Le Petit Citron. We were lucky enough to hire the whole venue for a private party. I can wholeheartedly recommend this amazing restaurant. Emily, Lawrence and their team went above and beyond to help...make the day so special. The food and wine was delicious, the ambience and atmosphere was exactly what we had hoped for. Our expectations were definitely exceeded. This is a great venue for a private party as well as a lovely local neighbourhood restaurant.More

If you are looking for a French bistro-type restaurant, then this is a special one and definitely worth a trip on the tube out to Goldhawk Road or Hammersmith (we travelled from near Paddington). We both liked the fact that the menu was fairly short...and that they offered a 3-course Prix Fixe. We went a la carte, and the food was all truly excellent, generous and exceptionally tasty - we had the Anchoïade Tartinette+La Soupe De Poisson; Roast Cornfed Chicken+Confit Duck Leg and just had share an eponymous Petit Citron plus a Crème Brulée. The restaurant had great decor, atmosphere and 'buzz', and is obviously popular with both locals and visitors alike, even on a Monday (bank holiday) evening in May. The staff were friendly, efficient, helpful and patient (when we were talking instead of choosing our food!), and the drinks and wine were both great (Crémant de Loire and Chardonnay) and all priced reasonably. Would highly recommend for any occasion.More

Dear Alanna. What a super review and thank you so much for recommending us, really appreciated. We do hope to see you again very soon and all the best, Emily and all the team at Le Petit Citron x
I’ve now been here twice in the space of a month. The first time was a bit rushed. I had an excellent cheese soufflé and a confit of duck with cassoulet. But the second time was a real test of their mettle. On a weekend...lunchtime they were happy to go off menu and to produce some typical Provençal starters for which I was hankering. Followed by pasta with cavolo nero with artichokes and rum baba. The house wine is good and fairly priced. The owner is charming and all his young team obliging and eager. This place so deserves to succeed !More
